Impressive NVMe drive with solid performance!!
These have always been my go to choice for buying. The quality of this drive is great and probably the best bang for you buck that you can find, especially when looking for a cheap, solid quality upgrade. COMPATABILITY: It has been compatible for just about every motherboard ive used that has an M.2 slot available. SPEED: I know at this point in year 2025, all the speeds of NVMe's are 7k and up, but having 3500mb/s read speed is still insanely fast for performance and in my opinion can still be considered top tier. HEAT: Ive never had a problem with heat dissipation on this model, although i would recommend a heatsink if you can find a cheap one. Doesnt need anything fancy, even a $5 one will do, as this doesnt seem to get very hot when openly exposed on the motherboard. But i find it better safe than sorry.

Great secondary mass-storage drive.
I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase of this drive. I am very happy with the results that I was able to achieve especially for a drive without a DRAM cache. The drive is in an M.2 2280 form factor so keep that in mind when choosing a drive for a laptop or other small device, as it may be too long, so be sure to check the compatibility with the manual of the device you plan to put it in. This drive WILL fit in a PlayStation 5, but is not fast enough to recommend for said use case. I recommend this drive to those needing a large and modern drive but at a very good price. Ideal use cases would be for game libraries or security camera video storage. Reasons to recommend: - Great price from a reputable brand - PCIe gen 4 which is a steal at this price - Great speeds considering the lack of DRAM cache - No required heat sink Reasons to avoid: - 1TB is not a lot in today's world; for this price you can easily find a 2TB hard disk drive - No DRAM cache - Speeds are good, but not great - Installation can be more in-depth than something like an external hard drive Into the nitty-gritty. I ordered this as a secondary drive for my Dell XPS 9710. This laptop has two PCIe 4x4 slots that will accommodate a 2280 M.2 expansion card. I did not need anything too fast, just extra storage for game libraries and creative files (Photoshop, Blender, Premiere, Ableton, and the like). The packaging was very small and minimal but still good quality. My drive had a different color PCB - a very dark blue/black. While not an issue (I actually prefer it), it is worth noting. The serial number is correct and it is the same drive as sold on Amazon. Installation was a breeze and the drive is sized properly. Going by the benchmarks that I ran, the primary use of this drive should be items that will not be randomly accessed. I would not recommend this as a primary drive for a computer or running an operating system on this. Storing documents, games, or other file types that will be loaded sequentially into RAM when accessed will work great here. Average sequential reads according to CrystalDiskMark were about 3500GB/s and average sequential writes were about 2570GB/s. These write speeds are as advertised, but be aware that there is a reason write speeds are not advertised - the lack of DRAM cache is hurting them a lot. Average sequential reads according to Atto were HEAVILY favored to larger queries, and you can expect full speeds at 512KB queries or larger. Average optimal reads are about 3000GB/s and average optimal writes were about 2400GB/s. These read speeds are significantly lower than CrystalDiskMark's findings and less than advertised. I rate this product overall 4.5/5 stars due to its absolute steal of a price for what you get. I would prefer the inclusion of a DRAM cache, but it is hard to complain. If you buy this as a secondary drive for someone on a budget, you won't be disappointed.

Fast, Spacious, and Easy Upgrade for Any PC Build
Fast, Spacious, and Easy Upgrade for Any PC Build The Kingston NV2 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD is one of those upgrades that instantly makes a difference in how your system feels. Installation was simple—just popped it into the M.2 slot, and it was recognized immediately without fuss. With PCIe Gen 4 support, speeds are snappy, and while it’s not the absolute fastest drive on the market, it’s more than enough for gaming, creative work, and everyday tasks. What I really like is the balance between capacity and cost. Having 2TB of space means I don’t have to constantly shuffle files around, and the drive stays cool even under load—no noticeable thermal throttling so far. It’s also nice that it runs quietly with no moving parts, and boot times are lightning quick. Things to keep in mind: this SSD doesn’t come with a heatsink, so if your motherboard doesn’t already have one, you may want to add a thermal solution for heavy workloads. Also, it’s rated for up to 3500 MB/s, which is great, but not the very top tier of Gen 4 drives—so if you’re chasing maximum benchmark numbers, there are faster (but pricier) options. Bottom line: A dependable, spacious, and well-priced SSD that offers a big jump in speed for most users. Perfect for anyone needing extra room without breaking the bank.

A very impressive performing NVME PCIE Gen4 2 TB drive especially for $110 to store my PC Games on.
The Kingston NV2 2TB M.2 2280 is a champ for being a well-priced NVME Gen 4 drive, while other reviewers say it may not be fully suitable for a PS5 as you might need to spend more for a faster drive, I don't believe I would notice a huge difference unless I need direct storage even so the speed of over 3 GB/S (Tested in Crystal Disk Mark) is more than adequate for PC Gaming in my experience even with the latest AAA titles, especially that I use this drive to store my Steam games, the loading times on my games are practically instantaneous compared to even a SATA-III SSD as I have zero issues as of writing this review and I had felt skepticism before buying this drive which didn't turn out to be true at all. This drive's performance even beats out my boot drive (Crucial P2) by another 1000 Megabytes Per Second in both read/write, that drive costed $70 for 1 TB, which means this drive is much cheaper per gigabyte. If you're looking for a great storage solution to store your files especially a decent sized library of Steam Games do not hesitate in buying this drive it's well worth your money whether you have a Gaming Desktop which I use this drive for, or even a laptop that you need mass storage for as well look no further.

Updated review after 2 days use
***Updated Review*** TLDR: please avoid the 2TB version if possible. After I transferred my entire Steam/EPIC library to the new drive, the speed dropped drastically and we are now talking about SATA level of performance. This is less than half of what Kingston promised to deliver and I have decided to return it. The 2TB version uses a DIFFERENT controller than the 1TB version reviewed by TPU, the different firmware version confirms it. ***Original Post*** I was looking for a large NVME storage drive for holding my Steam Library since the old 1T MX500 has been filled up already. This time I was looking for a M.2 Drive for improved performance but since it will be installed at the back of the Mobo, less than half inch away from a RTX3080/12, I was extremely careful to seek out for a low cost (since it only holds games, no productivity need for 7GB/s speed) and lower thermal cost. You can refer to my attached photo to get an idea why heat is a big concern for me: the drive was installed underneath the red circle. I read the TPU review and this brand new drive seems to be a good choice since it is using the Phison E21 controller (based on TSMC 12nm). My actual experience is inline with the TPU review. The drive is averagely performed, nothing to write home about, with average 3,700MB/s read and 1,200MB/s write right out of the box as a blank drive. (yes, it can only peak at 2,800MB/s but sustained at 1,200MB/s) The temperature starts at rather high 60C but with over 1TB write non-stop, it only maxes out at 80C, no thermal throttling at all. Heavy AAA gaming like Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K/High Setting even with the massive heat from the GPU, the drive withstand the heat and can perform at the level. Overall I would say this is what you paid for such a low price (compared to other PCI-E 4.0 standard modern M.2 Drive) If you are looking for stellar performance, better go with SN850X or 990Pro but this would be a good storage drive for me as an ITX build. Overall it is a good buy for the price and performance is reasonable

EXCELLENT! FAST 2TB M.2 for $110! Great in my "old" Mid 2010 MacPro !!!!
These do work in my "old" Mid 2010 MacPro !!!! These are AWESOME and fast M.2 drives, 2TB for $110 !!!! So I have an "old" Mid 2010 MacPro and I bought the 4 slot M.2 card for $30, "KONYEAD pcie4.0 x16 to m.2 m-Key nvme x 4 ssd Expansion Card" (Amazon ASIN #: B09XSY3JVS) and together they give me 1,700MBs R/W in Windows 10 (Bootcamp) and for some reason slower, but fast enough for my needs 700MBs R/W. To get fast, 2TB M.2 storage for $140 is amazing, plus I can add another 6TB of storage for another $330! Just like a year ago, this would have cost me $2k to $3K for the same thing. Fast drives are essential for Film/TV Editing! And all else, like Apple Apps I develop and EXCELLENT for GAMING (I edit and do my biz in Mac, then boot to Windows 10 for Gaming, BF1, 4, 5, Racing Simulators, Flight Simulators.... all McPC!!!!) I edit projects and to keep cost down I've been using the absolute worst (used to trust WD) Western Digital USB hard drives, which are slow and only last about 3 months, then they fail. They start off at 70MBs, then after 3 months slow to 2MBs to 5Mbs!!!! WAY TOO SLOW TO EDIT WITH!!!! WD used to be my go to drives for reliability, but these have been the worst!!!!! (WD 5TB My Passport Ultra for Mac Silver Portable External Hard Drive HDD = THE WORST DRIVES EVERY!!!!). AND last year when I looked at M.2 PCIe cards for my MacPro, the card alone was like $1,300 and M.2 were pricey. NOW this card at $30 and the 2TB M.2 Kingston drives at $110, $140, brings the price within my budget! I wanted faster than the SSD drives I am using now and this is the perfect solution. One thing though, for some reason my MacPro won't boot Windows 10 Bootcamp off this card? AND also for some reason the R/W speed in MacOS is ½ the speed of Windows 10.... same computer, but a reboot? And lastly, I have not tried RAID of this card and these M.2 drives, but should work, right? Later! JOHNAVATAR.com

Nothing to say: THATS GOOD!!!
No problems at all using this drive. I installed it and configured it, and nothing happened; that’s good! I’m using it as my main boot drive for Windows, while keeping everything else on a different drive. At 500GB, it’s plenty of space for this purpose, and so far it’s been reliable and fast. Very happy with this purchase!
