This is a perfect little fireplace for the wall space I intended it ...
This is a perfect little fireplace for the wall space I intended it to be. Took me about 1 1/2 hour to put it together. Yes I saw all the little parts and all the screws but it didn't scare me enough to not put the fireplace together. It did look complicated at first but I laid everything out just like the manual pages showed making sure all parts were good and all were there. I really got a good fit for the fire box no cracks no lights coming out from the cracks, just perfect. I have it in a bedroom where I have a little sitting area with a table and chair circled around to get the benefit of the heat from the fireplace. It is so neat, and it takes up very little space fits against the wall really well. Myself I love to tackle putting furniture together, it keeps you active and your mind occupied.

Quality Craft MM850P Electric Fireplace
Assembly was easy, took about 1.5 hrs. Works great, great size & shape (hard to find vertical fireplaces) and looks very nice. It is very glossy so I LIGHTLY sanded the finish on everything but the mantel trimming and center mantel embellishment, be sure to use a sanding sponge for even sanding and get the finest grit you can find.... It looks MUCH better, not as cheap looking. The glass gets noticeably hot from the bulb, simple fix! Replace the existing bulb with a DIMMABLE led, candelabra style bulb. It requires a 40w bulb but I used a 60w LED because they do not use as many watts (less than 7 watts actually) and it made the flame effect slightly brighter when set to max...glass is now cool to the touch regardless of how long I leave it on. I also added some trim to the front, vertical trim (see pic). Home depot sells these fabricated, metallic looking sheets for $20. Measure and cut to size, spray paint if you like (I chose a matte red) and attach with double sided tape. A couple of simple fixes can really make this look more unique, money well spent and I highly recommend the product... Just wish it had a remote!

Ambiance and optional heat!
Here's how the flames look. Also note the general size of the fireplace relative to the bottles of wine. Frenchie not included. :) I love this electric fireplace even though I've only had it a few days. I have a tiny, ahem, adorable place in the city. It is a 370 sq ft studio condo and it is plenty warm without the heat on. However, this is Seattle so I wanted lovely ambiance on demand, and using the fireplace heater when necessary (vs. the built-in wall heater). I'll be honest, I have left the flames on low most of the time since I assembled the fireplace, even overnight. I just love the warm and cozy vibe it gives off, which is the perfect answer to Seattle's beautiful rainy and grey winters. Pros: Affordable (there are much nicer ones out there, but they are hundreds more) Small size is the right proportion for a smaller space Nice flame effects - see video Heater works really well (or really really well if you turn on both!) Nice looking (just don't look too close) Relatively easy to put together (I did it myself in about an hour, with dog assistance) Comes with touch up paint/stain and a few odd extra parts for those oops moments Cons: None so far Unknowns: Longevity - This isn't an investment piece - it is a veneer sticker on particleboard but this should be expected given the price point of under $200. At some point, it will need replacing or repair to continue looking and working well. Energy consumption Overall, excellent purchase and the best ambiance $200 is going to get you. I put a wine bottle on top of the mantle and next to the fireplace so you can see the size of the fireplace, as well as the flame effects. Gratuitous French bulldog shot included in video but not included in fireplace purchase. :)

Quality and looks great.
I have enjoyed this heater for over a year. It is really nice and was easy to put together. I had to replace the 40 watt bulb 1 time but I use it every day.

I enjoyed putting this together (I'm kinda weird that way!) but here is the caution: Be sure the fireplace heater works BEFORE you spend the time putting the unit together! That's right, after I had the whole thing together the heater didn't work and I had to break it all down and send it back. This is why I buy from Amazon-no hassle return. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I absolutely love this fireplace/heater
I absolutely love this fireplace/heater. It looks very nice, realistic, and warms nicely. My two cats love lying in front of it and they will let me know when they want it turned on. Good price for how nice it looks and works! The one thing that bothered me a bit were the instructions. There were no "exploded view" pictures on them, which made it hard to see how certain parts were put together. So I ended up having to unscrew a few screws and turn parts around. However, overall it is easy to put together and once I saw it up and in place that small annoyance was quickly forgotten.
