This review is for the copper body torch. I use a butane torch for general workshop use - shrink tube, soldering, heating small bearing bores, etc. I like this one because it stays on; the button only lights the flame, you don't have to hold it down. The flame has a good range, from very small, about 1/4 inch, to full blast at a good 2 - 3 inches. The adjustment valve is very good and has a precise feel; it is not finicky / touchy like others, making it easy to set the flame size. The body and valve head both appear to be copper. It's possible they are copper plated, but in any case it is metal, not plastic. One interesting benefit is that when you fill it, you can feel the cold butane as it rises in the tank, letting you know that it really is being filled and at what level. It lights every time, consistently, as long as the valve is at a reasonable setting (not super high or low). Flame goes out immediately when the valve is closed. Although I can't speak for durability, as I've only had this a short time... so far, so good.

I purchased this to solder jewelry. My Silversmith teacher was really impressed and I got to use it in class. It worked better than I imagined it would. I'm excited to be able to use it at home!!

The push-button ignition failed in the first 30 minutes of use. It will no longer produce a spark. Unfortunately this item is NOT RETURNABLE. I would like to contact the seller but I'm having trouble locating contact info. Maybe this is just a defective item. If I could return it for a replacement I would give it another chance but looks like I am stuck. UPDATE: I contact RAVS support and they promptly sent me a new torch and refunded my original payment. The process was easy and hassle-free. I didn't even have to return the defective item. Many of these torches you find on the market at liquor stores or gift shops have a narrow sharp flame that is too hot and concentrated for my purposes This Copper Butane Torch has a nice wide, "soft" flame. It is forceful but the heat is distributed over a fairly wide area and it does not instantly scorch my snacks.

This product is beautifully crafted from solid brass and serves as a charming decorative piece in any kitchen. Beyond its looks, it’s highly functional and produces a strong, steady, clean flame suitable for cooking. The seller’s customer service is also excellent - very responsive and genuinely caring. Highly recommended.

We purchased this more "premium" butane torch after the other 3 we bought worked for a day or two and then quick working. This one worked for a longer period of time but crapped out and stopped working after a couple weekends of use. Still looking for a reliable bhutane lighter. The search continues.
