Get this instead of a traditional rice cooker! It's 4x cheaper, runs cheaper and makes better rice!
Absolutely amazing product. My only previous experience with rice cookers was with a resihunger cooker that cost 4x more, and it always produced burnt/very dry rice. Not only does this product not do this for a fraction of the cost, it's better in pretty much every way. - rice always comes out fluffy - Is actually cheaper and more energy efficient - more convenient as it's much easier to clean/much less spillage and is also smaller than a normal rice cooker - whilst holding 2x+ more rice/water -usually cooks rice quicker than rice cooker and especially saucepan, and is just quick start to finish (prep, cooking, cleaning, putting away) -has double the capacity of most full fledged rice cookers, but actually takes up less space, is also like 10x lighter, literally. - cooks other things, such as large amounts of pasta if you don't have access to a hob. The only advantages my last "fully fledged" rice cooker may have, is that arguably the fully featured rice cooker has a "warm" function, which quite frankly burnt my rice even further. A fully fledged rice cooker also takes up less space in total, as it doesn't need a microwave, however if the space constraints aren't too bad, I'd definitely get the sistema microwave rice cooker and a microwave instead, as it's not that much more expensive than the cheapest rice cookers, is more versatile, and makes better rice far more consistently and conveniently in my experience. But yes, the microwave rice cooker is technically less portable if you are required to take your microwave with you too. Also, if you want to make rice on the go, you'd probably be better off with a good old fashion sauce pan and a firepit or butane stove, or better yet, one of those "cook rice in a bag" things they sell in shops now. I'd like to add some instructions that I personally use to make rice in this, as the instructions that came with this product aren't accurate and in-depth instructions for microwave cookers are hard to find. ° First, measure out 100ml of rice, which is about 1 medium portion, and put it in the cooker. ° The next step is to clean the rice (very important!), pour water onto rice, stir until cloudy, pour out water and repeat 3 times or until water is at least 90% clear. This cleans the starch, making the rice more fluffy when cooked and lets you pick out bugs that are quite common in rice ° Pour the water out of the rice cooker one final time really well and (optional) some people say you can leave it to sit and dry slightly for 5 minutes to make the rice firmer when cooked, but I find there's no difference. ° If you are using generic long grain rice, I'd suggest a water:rice ratio of 2:1, so 200ml of water for 100ml of rice. For basmati I'd suggest 1.8:1. 100ml of rice is a medium sized portion, so I will be using this as an example. ° For every 100ml of rice, I'd add 1/2 tsp of salt ° Cover rice cooker, and make sure that the vents in the inner lid are not directly below the vents in the outer lid, this allows the rice to be cooked a tad bit quicker with pressure ° cook for 10 minutes in a microwave (this is for 800w, add about 50-60 seconds for every 100w below, and subtract the same amount for every 100w above). Edit 10/05/25: do about 7.5 minutes per portion of rice extra, previous suggestion a bit too long, 13.3 grams of raw rice per minute, but a minimum of 10 minutes if under 150g/120ml, add appropriate water. Make sure to occasionally check the progress after 2/3 done and record the time it takes your exact microwave to cook so you can just put in the exact value next time and forget about it, my instructions are only a guide :) Example of quantities/time: 360g raw rice (4-5 portions) Multiply *grams* by 2.25 for 810ml of extra water. Or multiply *mls* of raw rice by 1.8 for 810ml. 1-1.5tsp of salt Cook for 27 min in a 800w microwave. This got me the perfect rice the first time. ° when rice is cooked, you may open it to check if everything is okay. I suggest leaving it shut to rest for 5-10 mins after cooking to firm up the rice so that it doesn't break into lots tiny pieces when you mix it to fluff before serving, but you may not need this depending on the rice. This gets me great results every time, but I still haven't tried other types of rice, so you will have to experiment if that's what you want. I also highly suggest avoiding "easy cook" rice (normal long grain is fine and cheaper). Tastes awful, unless you really like cheap school cafeteria's food. it's also not any "easier" to "cook" compared to normal rice since you're using a rice cooker which is already the pinnacle of convinience. Both generic "long-grain" rice and easy-cook rice tend to overspill a very small amount with this, even in small quantities, however basmati does not, even with 3 portions of rice. I also haven't made massive amounts of rice with this, but I would limit myself to using 2 out of the 2.6 litres of the container to be safe, which is still about 6 portions of rice, or 3/4. However, from the product photos, you can see the rice comes up to the really tippy top, so I guess you could use the full capacity of the rice cooker, but I'd make sure to monitor the rice carefully throughout cooking. 2.6l should make 8 portions of long grain rice, or 9 portions of basmati. I'd be far more confident filling up to the top with basmati than long grain though, since it doesn't spill for me. Overall, this is an amazing product. I'd recommend it to anyone with a microwave, even if you have access to a hob, this is just more convenient than a hob and even a fully-fledged rice cooker. If you don't have a microwave and want to buy a full featured rice cooker, I'd suggest getting a microwave instead. It's not massively larger and will probably make better rice alongside this sistema rice cooker. Tl;Dr. Get this instead of a normal rice cooker and save $$ upfront and on bills (even with electricity prices in 2022), and get better rice too.

Great rice in 15 minutes!
I bought this because I was desperate for a rice cooker, but don't really have space for a proper appliance in my little kitchen! It was also insanely cheap by comparison, so I thought 'what the heck, I'll give it a try!' and it have been pleasantly surprised. The rice has been very good, and it's been very easy to use. I could never make rice as well as this on my rubbish electric hob! It loses one star because 1. It is a little tall, and only just fits in my (quite old and basic) microwave; and 2. The instructions could've been a bit more helpful. For my family of 4, using a 900w microwave: 2 cups of basmati rice, rinsed. 4 cups of cold water Straight in the pot, put both the cover and the clip lid on (do not cook on top of the plastic insert!) . Cook for 15 minutes. Let it rest for 5 mins. Remove carefully from microwave and add salt & pepper and some butter (if desired). I have also tried making the rice using stock (1 cup hot stock, 3 water) and that has been a nice added flavour. It is also good for steaming vegetables!

Great Rice / Pasta Microwave Cooker
Great Product, and works very well, appearance is good, good size and build quality, portable, but dont like the handle on lid, should be on the main container, i dont trust lid not to come off, also the 4 clips do come off so make sure that you check them on every use, otherwaise use a towl of gloves and you be fine, as it gets hot in microwave.

For rice that cooks beautifully and retains every molecule of flavour and aroma. I'll never boil rice again.
There are a few critical reviews of this rice steamer, and I almost got put off buying this product, but I'm glad I decided to get one, because it's proved itself time and again over the last four or five months since I bought it, and I've never had a minute's worry with it. It's been particularly useful for speciality rice such as Black Thai Rice - I've never been able to keep that lovely, natural sweetness and fragrance in Thai rices if I've cooked them by boiling - doing them in this microwave pot has retained every bit of flavour and given a perfect consistency and texture. That lovely sticky Thai Jasmine rice keeps all it's sweetness and flowery aroma cooked in one of these, and the consistency of the rice is nice and sticky, but not all starchy clumps. You just lose all of flavour even with the most careful cooking using a stovepot, but not with this steamer. Same with Camargue 'red' rice - all that lovely nuttiness is retained, and 'wild' rice bursts open properly into grain that 'blooms.' I'd forgotten how good even an ordinary Basmati can be when cooked in one of these. These steamers are really easy to use - just put the dry rice in the bottom of the pot, add the required amount of water (different rices vary, so just check your recipe), put on the lid, clip on the top closure and cook for the required time. I usually take mine out a couple of times during the cooking process just to check everything's okay and give it a little stir with the spatula, then back in the microwave. My microwave is a standard 20 litre, 750-800w oven, nothing special. The steamer fits perfectly. The main thing for me with these steamers is that they're really trouble free, wash up really easily, don't boil over and most important, every element of the flavour profile of the rice is retained. Excellent.

Eat a lot of rice? You need this!!
This was purchased as a replacement for the last Sistema Microwave Rice Cooker we had, which gave us years of untroubled service until a accident befell it at the hands of a "fancy" new microwave oven with a built in oven and grill feature. I can confirm that the rice cooker is definitely not compatible with the grill function of said fancy microwave and as such the lid of the old rice cooker was tragically melted in a microwave/grill accident and we had to resort to an emergency ration of boil in the bag rice. I know, right? Joking aside this rice cooker is easy to use and very easy to clean. No more boiling pans of water, washing starch out of the rice so it doesn't stick, forgetting about the pan and then having to chisel the rice off the bottom etc, you know what I'm talking about. This rice cooker makes cooking rice very simple, just weight the rice portion, add the water, place the cover on, then snap the lid into place and microwave on full power (depending upon your microwaves power level) for 12 - 15 minutes. The cooker will be hot when you remove it from the microwave but the rice will be done to perfection. Get the used rice cooker into a bowl of hot soapy water and give it a good rinse and its good to go again. Or you can use one of those ridiculous dish washer things for slightly worse cleaning results. In short if you cook alot of rice this is a quick, easy, convenient way to cook rice spot on every time

Wish I'd found this sooner!
This is an excellent product - well-made, lid seals tightly every time, so easy to use, and cleanup is a breeze. Never any mess to clean in the microwave , no run-over, and rice is perfect every time. Definitely a kitchen favourite.

Super easy!
Easiest rice-cooker ever. Wash rice, add in there, use the finger-trick, add some stock and herbs, and you’ll have the best rice ever in about 15 minutes! Also cleans up in about 10 seconds, or just pop it in the dishwasher.

Ahora cocinar es un placer!!! Muy recomendable! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
