Review: Perfect Storage solution for Cameras, Android Phones and Tablets - I'm an IT Professional and I've stored my music, ebooks, pictures and documents in the cloud (like Dropbox, GDrive, One Drive) and It's about 70GB altogether. Cloud-based solutions are great but annoying when you're on the move and can't access a file because of network connectivity issues. Having a copy on an SD card for instant access of all my essential items seemed the logical choice. I've used SanDisk in the past without any issues and they know the criteria for any SD card should be: A) Big enough for your current storage needs and has additional space for expansion as your data grows. B) Fast. A slow SD card will just lead to eventual frustration with unreliable transferring and lag when accessing your files. C) A quality company, if you are spending money on a card, you want to know it's reliable, robust and keeps your data safe. SanDisk doesn't manufacture TV's or PC's. Its core business model is memory. If you want the best that money can buy, stick with the experts. This Sandisk Card, in my opinion, gets tops marks for fulfilling all of these requirements. 6 Important Tips and Hints: 1) Formatting. It comes formatted in exFAT. Do NOT reformat it. Leave it as it is. I know NTFS is supposed to be faster and allows bigger file sizes, I tried to format mine to NTFS and my new android phone didn't recognise it. I put it back into my PC to reformat it again and bizarrely it wouldn't allow me to. ( perhaps some weird driver issue on my machine) Luckily I have another brand new PC that it did allow me to reformat back to exFAT. Just a heads up to avoid unnecessary drama. 2) Creating a Copy Of Your Cloud Files for Offline Use. I was unable to specify where Gdrive, Dropbox and One Drive are stored on my (not rooted) phone. I wanted it to point to my SD card so I could store everything in one place using the files and folders structures I created. None of the Cloud Solutions I use would allow this. As a viable workaround, I've created a manual copy of my Cloud Storage in the SD Card and perform a manual sync every couple of months to ensure I have an up-to-date copy of my cloud items. I suspect the issue is not going to be made any easier as these companies want to lock you into their cloud plans and be your one stop shop solution for the storage of your data. 3) Difference between the advertised size and the usable space on the SDcard In the background an algorithm runs on the card to ensure that wear and tear on the card is evenly spread out to make your card last longer. If an error occurs resulting in a bad sector on the card it swaps out space it's saved for itself and gives it back to you. Both these events occur to ensure that your card remains stable, lasts longer and keeps your data safe, In order for these actions occur the card needs to keep some space on the card for itself in order for this to happen. 4) Packaging. If you go for the standard packaging instead of frustration-free ( I always do to check it's legitimate and not a cheap knockoff) make sure you have a pair of scissors or a knife on hand to get the card out. This may seem obvious, but you run the risk of breaking the sd card if you can't wait to try out your card and twist the packaging with your hands to get the card out. 5) Transferring Files from Your PC using the Micro SD Adaptor or FTP. To Transfer files from your computer to your tablet or phone you can use the Micro SD adaptor supplied free with the card. In this instance, you must have a MicroSD adaptor slot on your PC or have a USB Micro SD adaptor attached. Alternatively, you can purchase a WIFI / FTP app from the Google Play store to transfer files via WIFI. 6) Using this MicroSD card for use on ANY compatible device. Although this MicroSD card (also known as a TF card) is called "Ultra Android" You can use this SD card in Cameras and Mini computers such as the Raspberry Pi and Arduino as well as ANY ANDROID based PHONE or TABLET that has a Micro SD expansion slot. I suspect SanDisk added "Android" in the heading because the most popular usage is for Android Phones and Tablets. Just check on the side of your phone or tablet for a MicroSD Slot. If you're unsure, double check on your product manufacturers website.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it work with iPhone 6?**
A: Just add it to a card reader with a lightning connector like the Massdata Lightning iFlash USB SDHC Micro SD OTG Card Reader For IOS 9 iPhone 5 6 6S Plus iPad PC & Android and it works with both iPhone and iPad after downloading the iStick app from the App Store.

**Q: What is the actual usable size of this card?**
A: I have the 128gb card and use it for an android phone (I have an LG G Stylo). It had to be formatted first and then I got a total of 119gb of actual usable memory. Hope this helps.

**Q: Does this work with the new Amazon Fire Tablet?**
A: I don't know about this specific card, but the Sandisk Extreme Plus (red top stripe like this, but gold bottom instead of grey) 128 GB, V30, XC I, U3, A2 cards I have (multiple from different purchases but the same model), formatted to exFAT with 128 kb allocation units, have not worked at all in my kid's Kindle Fire 8" model. I have not tried them in other kindles, but the model I just listed does NOT work. Are you inferring that I'm pissed off, yeah. That is a fairly higher end card. Fast, sizable. meets all the common standards, stock formatted in about the most common configuration for cards. Meets everything Amazon says is supposed to work that I can find (by the way, finding info on what is supposed to be fit-able inside my kid's fire table has been a pain, Amazon could do a damn better job of documenting their models and what is supposed to work with them). And, a big goose egg. What a waste. No idea why the Amazon tablets suck so much. This is simple software stuff that should have been fixed about 8 years ago with their 2nd or 3rd model and rolled forward from then on at no extra cost to the consumers (who deserved a working storage driver in the first place. And yeah, all the SD cards work fine on every windows machine and the GoPros I have used them on, just the kindle is incompetent with it. Maybe the slot on the kindle is borked? Nope, it can see at least two other microSD cards just fine. Really retarded.

**Q: how do I know if I need the new version?**
A: If you desire faster transfer speeds otherwise no need for new one

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, works brilliantly!
*by H***M on 31 October 2016*

The product works as expected and came in minimal packaging (as advertised) this may be worrisome to some people however rest assured the SD card works just fine. I am using it with my LG G3 mobile phone and it works just fine after formatting it to the correct standard. Would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable storage expansion for their portable devices
