Works ok but strong smell.
First off, this product does what it is intended, basically to thin out oil paints and to improve the drying times. The only negative being that it does appear to need quite a bit of Liquin on the brush to get the oils to flow fully. The one surprising thing, is that although the Liquin does not create much of an odour in use, when it dries it does leave a strong aroma, not unlike the smell when people have been eating chips in a room. All in all a good product.

Good Product, BUT Buy the 750ml Bottle Instead
I am a professional oil painter and use Liquin a lot. This version (the original) is much easier to work with than Liquin Fine Detail and the gloss level when dry is much easier on the eyes (though it is on the verge of too glossy). Since this is a thick medium if you use a lot you can create different textures and more depth. The 750ml bottle of this product is on Amazon too for a better price per ml. Since this product lasts for a long time (> 1 year) it never hurts to have some lying around.

Very good medium for the early stages of your painting
Very good all purpose oil painting medium which also decreases drying time More useful in the early stages when you want to quickly establish shapes and values

Great product. Application of the oils once mixed with Liquin is much smoother and it does dry faster - not instantly though. If you apply oils thinly, it is usually dry for the next day.

Great, speeds up drying
Great product. Takes a bit of time to get used to if you've never used a medium for oil painting, but it works perfectly. I use this when I use the glazing technique, and it dries very quickly (few hours) and then allows me to add another layer. Has a semi-gloss finish and you only need a little bit of it. Highly recommend.

Great to use, impossible to open
I love the fluid quality this medium brings to oil paint, the big issue I have with all of the liquin products is that after using it for a while it becomes impossible to remove the top of the bottle. I normally end up using a bench vice to open the bottles but this eventually destroys the bottle top. I would love to be able to get this in a form that allows me use it without all of the drama.

Tried and tested paint medium
I am not the user of this product, my husband Ray Ching, a professional artist is. He has used it for many years as an oil paint medium and won't change to anything else. Professional artists don't like experimenting with unknown products. If they've used one successfully for a long time, they stick to it. This is because they know it will stand the test of time. More restoring has to be done on modern paintings these days, than on old masters. This is because most art students who paint are not taught the basics: the importance of good preparation of canvases etc., or painting on the right surfaces, or the proper application of the right paints. He recommends this product. He prefers to buy it in small bottles rather than in bulk. Something to do with it keeping better.

Your paint will be more liquidy.
I used another one before. Bought this one. It is more jello like, and when I dilute my paints with it, the paint becomes more liquidy, and has no glance. I end up using much more of it then the previous one. It is a No for me.
