The instructional vids I saw on the internet made expanding the pipes looks easy as pie. (I should have paid closer attention to the arms of the guy doing the demonstration. I'm a 72 year old guy who was never all that strong to begin with. For folks like me, using these pipe is at least a two man job. Having finished whining, let me add that they enabled me to get the job done and they worked as well as I hoped. They are intended to be used in the ground. Given the layout of my home, that would have been impossible. I set them up to hang from the fence accross from the raingutter's down spout at an angle that would bypass my patio (which had been flooding) and dump the water into my garden area. We've had several storms here this winter and so far they have been working perfectly. Since my use was somewhat unique, I don't know how much this review will help. But I do thing, subject to the limitations I have mentioned, the product does the job it promises to do.

I broke 6 inches of 4" of Corrugated Pipe (French drain) when I was digging. I cut off the damaged pipe and replaced with this adapter. It clicked in nicely to the existing pipe. This item was also cheaper on Amazon and came next day. I recommend it.

The corrugated pipe fits inside a 4” pipe the problem is both ends are the same size they need both a female & male ends that way you can make it work with either end or cut off the female end if needed
