Fantastic family game
This game was straight out of the box on Christmas Day and was enjoyed by the whole family (5 years, 7 years and adults). I played Game of Life a lot as a child but hadn’t played the junior version before. Whilst the proper game gives you the opportunity to go to university etc before getting a job with a salary, the junior game is more focused on moving around the game board to reach different fun destinations e.g. the beach, funfair, cinema, bowling etc. You have to use your pocket money to go to the different activities although there are free options e.g. park or jumping in muddy puddles. I liked the fact that there is a very subtle life lesson thrown in to teach kids the value of money but it is more a fun family game than a educational toy. There are also challenge cards thrown in to gain stars e.g. sing a song, so this keeps young ones engaged. The quality of the board and pieces is very good and use of a spinner was a nice change from a normal dice. I would definitely recommend this to families with children ages 4-10

Not the same as the origional
I bought this for my son for Christmas as I was looking forward to intrudicing him to this classic game. However, there are no pegs for people anymore. There are cars and cards to collect when you land on a square. Stars are earny by mimins or guessing etc. Its good fun, but not as good as the original.

Great for younger children… spinner is rubbish though!
I am VERY impressed with this game - I bought it for my 4 year old grandson's birthday and he (and we) loved it! Unlike many board games for young children this one encourages them to be creative and use their imaginations as part of the game is to tell the other players what you did in each of the locations you visited - so for example, tell everyone what you did at the zoo. This can be something as simple as "I saw a lion" through to a full 3 or 4 minutes of imagination describing in detail a whole day spent at the zoo. The game also gives 'Charades-type' challenges - with a chance to win more stars/credits, and other challenges such as 'Tell the players what you like about them'. The only down side to the game is the fact that the spinner is very poor quality and despite our many attempts will not stay fixed to the game board and keeps flying off in random directions, often scattering the playing pieces with it! It's a real shame because the 'spinner' is the one playing piece which those who've played the adult version of this game will recognise. We may eventually have to resort to using a normal dice instead… :-( Reviews which criticise this game as being unlike the classic, adult, version which they know so well puzzle me somewhat - if they want an 'identical' game to the adult version then why not just use that instead? If this game WERE like the adult version then the same reviewers may well criticise it for not being different! …you just can't win with some people. My advice is to definitely buy this game for younger children - they will love it if you encourage them and 'play along' with your imagination too! :-)

Good game, but too quick
Good game, but can be over really quickly. Which is no bad thing for young children, but needs to be made harder for slight older ones.

Great game for youngster.
Four year old daughter received this game for Christmas and she loves it. It's simple to play and the action cards meant that it kept her and her cousins attention for the length of the game, in fact they played it twice in very quick succession. The game has enough in it for the children to feel like they're playing a more grown-up game than some other junior versions of games.

This game is much better than i remember! My daughter is 4 and loves this, we played it today for the first time and it was brilliant. The board is bright and exciting and the pieces are ideal for little hands Would recommend
