Great colour and coverage on brown hair
Really impressed with this! It covered well on natural mousy brown hair and gave a lovely purple colour without needing to bleach first. It lasts a good few washes and then fades nicely. Easy to use and a great option for adding a fun colour. Highly recommend!

La Riche Directions
I have used La Riche Directions lots of times and never been disappointed with the colour...easy to use either with a colour brush or put it on like a shampoo....leave for the colour to take affect (mine I leave 30 minutes) rinse off and condition...don't shampoo for at least 3-4 days....a little goes a long way and the price is good

Amazing...if you follow my instructions
1st photo shows the colour I start with ie my usual hair Colour LIVE vibrant violet. 2nd photo is just after I’ve used these vibrant PINK and CERISE pots. 3rd photo I’ve increased the exposure so you can see the true colour under bright lights. I purchased two of these fab pots, one in cerise and one in flamingo pink . I wanted a maintenance product to use to revive the colour and blend the roots between my monthly full head permanent colour. First time I used these colours was two weeks after my permanent colour and I had a good amount of grey roots with a very wish washy faded burgundy/amber colour on the ends . I followed the instructions to the letter and after rinsing off, most of the colours went down the plug hole, leaving me with neon pink roots and not much elsewhere! So after a few more attempts I found the solution. To get the best from these pots, use on DRY hair. DO NOT apply using fingers. Put disposable gloves on, dip the bristles of an old toothbrush/mascara wand Into the pot. With a generously loaded brush, comb it through your hair from root to tip, making sure that the creme is THICKLY coating the hair shaft. Repeat all over your head, with as many colours as you like! It is soooooooo easy and you can get the colour right up to the roots without MAKING CONTACT WITH SCALP AND SKIN with ease. DO NOT RINSE it off. Either dry it off with a cool hairdryer or leave it to dry naturally. Rinse out the following day or if you applied in the morning, rinse out in the evening. THATS IT! The colour stays true and bright for at least three washes. Not only will this method give you a MUCH better colour, it eliminates a nasty clean up and stained skin. My routine now is to brush through a small amount of product every 2/3 days in the mornings after my shower. I will either give it a quick blast with cool hairdryer or brush it into a high ponytail and leave it on for the rest of the day. I’ve had SO many comments about the lovely colour and no one has realised that most days Ive literally just done a quick touch up straight out the pot lol. I carry the pot in my handbag and often do a little touch up throughout the day if I notice a few stray demon greys😂

Not too bad
I applied this to dry very light bleached blonde hair, I also have stubborn grey roots. Apparently applying it to dry hair helps it take better. I used 1.5 pots and saturated my hair, really rubbing it in and I left it for 45 mins. It has come out a nice peach colour and as I suspected it didn’t take to my grey very well but it has a bit. It’s also a bit patchy in some places even though I really rubbed it in. Not sure I’d buy this brand again, I found crazy color to be a lot more stronger. The pics are two days after without washing. I think most will come out after the first wash.

Alpine Green = GORGEOUS
Edited*** Stunning colour! I bleached my hair in late September, after a long think about what colour to put on my hair which was light yellow-blonde with dark auburn brown roots (6 weeks of growth while I was considering various greens and blues) I chose the Alpine Green by directions. I purchased two pots, I’m a man with really thick, shoulder length hair. But, upon applying the product, I only needed one pot to fully saturate my hair with its gel-like consistency. The pot says to wash your hair with a PH neutral shampoo before dying your hair with the product… however I used a gentle, cleansing shampoo and towelled my hair until it was damp, moisture helps spread the product in thick hair. Make sure your hair isn’t too wet though, this may cause running and your result may be patchy. Applying the dye on my hair was quite easy! If you’re careful, it doesn’t splatter, even with the extra moisture in my hair from the prior washing. It’s recommended to use a dye brush and section your hair… me being the lazy man that I am, put some gloves on and did it the old-fashioned way with my hands, sectioning my hair with my fingers. The product doesn’t smell bad, but it doesn’t smell particularly good either - it does however smell clean… if that makes sense? Anyway… 😂 The dye covered my hair with only half a pot used, which is fantastic for my thick, bleached hair! So, I worked the remaining half a pot into my hair, just to be certain I had even coverage. I left the dye in my hair for 45/50 minutes, and wrapped my hair in plastic wrap, because I wanted as rich a colour deposit as possible. But, always keep in mind the guideline 20 minute advertised development time! Especially when applying to freshly bleached hair. When rinsed and dried, the colour looks AMAZING!! It’s a cool, almost metallic-looking green. Very blue based, giving an almost-iridescent shine to the colour. I still have another pot left over, for upkeep of colour, too! I’m VERY happy with the product, and ‘directions’ in general! I’ve been using their colours for 15 years and have NEVER been disappointed! They stay in my hair far better than most other brands, this includes some of the permanent hair dyes. Thank you, La Riche!!! Sam, 28, long-time customer! ***one year on I have still been using this colour. Multiple haircuts and styles later, this green really is my favourite hair colour. The only thing I would like to change is to make it darker.

Faded fast.
A nice bright pink, exactly the shade I was hoping for, but it faded really fast. It was already looking a bit patchy in under two weeks, with only one or two washes. I probably wouldn't use this colour again.

Great when I dip dyed my hair
I brought 2 tubs of directions hair dye when dip dying my hair blue. I already have quite blonde hair which can be sort of brassy in some parts but also very light in others, and because I didn't really want to damage my hair , I did not bleach it before hand. The colour still came out. I mixed conditioner with the dye before I put it on my hair hoping that it might come out faster , but then I decided to dye back over the top of it without mixing it with conditioner as it was already fading quite fast, and I wanted it to last a bit longer than that. Because my hair is sort of yellow-blonde and not bleached white, when I applied Atlantic blue onto the ends, predictably it went more greeney. To fix this, I mixed it with directions violet so the very ends would be more blue. What I did was : 1) mixed Atlantic blue with very small amount of conditioner and put it all over where I wanted it dip dyed . I blended it up so my hair faded into the colour 2)mixed the pure Atlantic blue hair dye with the pure violet hair dye and put that about three quarters of the way up the part that I already dyed, then blended it . 3) I left this in for 3 hours (you definitely don't need to put it on for that long, I just left it anyway) , and then washed it out. The result was a darkish green-blue which faded into a really dark blue. I love the result so much. I don't know how long it will last but 2 years ago I did it with lagoon blue (only went a light green, would not recommend on unbleached blonde hair if you actually want a stand out blue) and it lasted 3 weeks and sort of stained and never really came out. Therefore I'm guessing that over 6 weeks when I leave this one in, it will fade but stain my hair (I'm fine with cutting it out anyway). Overall : very good hair dye, does not damage hair, shows up well on light blonde hair , lasts a long time, smells okay, good for blending and mixing.

Colour doesn't last
Absolutely terrible. Followed all the instructions, pre lightened my hair to get the beat results, colour was nice but it was patchy in places, washed it 4 days later and the colour has faded from purple to blue, it says it lasts 4-6 weeks and it's laster 4 days!

Great colours
I love this hair dye and love that you can choose the colours you want (by contacting the seller). It's good quality and lasts a good amount of time if you treat your hair accordingly.

My pillow
It worked but fd up my pillow… like i get that its temporary dye but why is it leaving when im sleeping 🥲 other than that its good, it works, color holds better if you bleached your hair first otherwise it might now show as much or at all.
