Definitely great especially at it's price point
Does it's job very well. The price is very very reasonable and the design is thoughtful both with the level bubble popped out to the side more than similar products and also with the tightening knob using the system usually found in higher end products where you can pull the lever out to change it's angle either to get around an interference issue or to have better leverage. The only "issue" I will mention is that unlike many products that maybe mention a weight rating but are then clearly built to easily handle heavier loads... this one is very clearly NOT. With my NEEWER fluid head and my X-T5 with a 18-135 or 55-200 it's fine, but it's very obvious that no matter how hard you tighten that knob, the leveling could get changed with some extra weight. What I mean here is that for instance the ball on my manfrotto ball head tightesn to the point that I'm pretty sure I could stand on it and not have it slip (I'm exagerating of course) ... whereas with the fluid head for instance... I accidentally forgot I'd locked the vertical movement and then during filming, using the arm extended at maximum I pushed up to have the camera point down... the fluid head didn't budge but the leveler actually tilted down a bit in response ... yes that was with about 16" of leverage so even though I wasn't "forcing it" clearly the force at the fulcrum wasn't insigificant but it moved much more easily than I would have expected it to. I wouldn't be surpriesed if some of the $100 or so offering would be better in this regard. Anyway... I just wanted to point out reality. the 5 stars are in my opinion deserved and should be the principal thing you look at if you're in the market for an inexpensive tool that makes life WAY easier... and boy it does. Let me point out one last thing: If you use a ball head for photography you most likely DO NOT need this product so save your money. If on the ohter hand you use a video type head and shoot video, you'd have to be nuts not to have this. it is IMMENSELY easier to level the head with this than trying to do it with the tripod legs.

There are no words ...
... to describe how much I wanted a really, really good tripod mount. On the other hand, I can say many positive things about this Koolehaoda rig. Heavy duty. Rock solid. Highly functional and adaptable. Impressive overall quality at this price point. Really glad I got it!

Good
Solid. Good grip. Spirit level could be bigger to be more precise.

Well made, and easy to use.
The review title pretty much says it, but I'll add that movement is very smooth and when tightened down, it locks up nice and solid.

Need a leveling head? Give this one a try. It's excellent!
Don't be put off by the low price. This leveler is a bargain. When unlocked, the platform can be adjusted easily and precisely. When locked in place, the platform will not move under any reasonable (and, probably unreasonable) load. I have a few pricey brand name leveling heads and this one does the job just as well for me.

Great, but with one flaw
The quality and build are great for the price. This would work perfectly if it weren’t for one flaw. It seems that the locking mechanism will not function properly if the tripod screw is too long. Just a slight amount of contact from tripod screw to the inside of the base causes the mechanism to not lock. I have tried this on two tripods, from separate brands. First tripod has a 1/4in screw that sits about 3/8in high. This seems to touch the mechanism inside the leveling base and the locking no longer works. The second tripod has a 3/8in screw and that sits about 5/8in. This screw sits higher so has even less clearance. I used a bunch of washers as a workaround to give enough clearance, but consider your tripod and if this will work.

Great Quality; Great Value
I recently was informed that even though I use a bubble level on my camera hot-shoe, that I really need a leveling base for my tripod head. I am not sure I buy that in general, but it does make sense if you want to make panoramic shots - which I do quite often. After looking at the "high end" brand items, I came on this one. I decided to give it a shot. It is very reasonably priced, compared to the "name-brand" copies out there. It is nicely machined, and has very smooth action. It is small and light (I shoot with a Mirrorless body and lenses that are comparatively small and light). It has a very small "footprint" on my tripod rig. I checked it for level a few different ways with one of my shop levels and it appears dead on to me. I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.

Super produit
