Review: Great read. - I learn something new every time I read this book and reference certain subjects, it's great for beginners and is a good way to just refresh and get the best from your art... The book has lots of advice but also gives you some reference and understanding about how stlyes differ between artists, but ultimately this book helps you create what you want to draw, and find your own style .. I would definitely recommend.. Review: Very good book - Lovely book great condition

Excellent book
I am so very pleased that I purchased this book. I purchased it after having read the reviews on Amazon. I am retired and have not drawn ever! The past couple of years I have been doing an adobe photoshop course and decided that it would be good to be able to incorporate some of my own drawings into the excercises I was doing. Of course the snag was that I could not draw. I joined a beginners drawing class but I can honestly say that this book is by far the greatest instructor. Yes! you have to practice, but I now believe those who tell me that you are not born with the skills to paint or draw, you can learn them. The art of shading to get the shape of a lip or a nose or a tree or a leaf, it is all in this book. Only one other thing would have been great, and that would have been if the book had been spiral bound, however I am seriously considering purchasing another one so that I can put the pages into a folder. If you need a book which will show you the art of sketching/drawing then I do not believe you will be disappointed in this book.

Very detailed book but not age appropriate
This looked like a very detailed book. Print quantity was excellent. I bought it for my 11 year old but there is too much male and female nudity for them

A great comprehensive book that is great value for money.
For those people like me that are not naturally that good at drawing, but want to improve, this book is fantastic. It is so comprehensive, covering a range of different types of drawings and techniques. What I particularly like is that the step-by-step guides are both detailed and easy to follow. Like with anything, it takes practice and you will not get there overnight! But this is certainly not related to what the book offers. The only potential drawback is that there is a lot of detail in this book and this might prove to be a bit daunting! However, this is not a criticism of the book, it is just something that should be taken into account. This is a great book for a great price! No, I have not turned into the next Da Vinci, but I have definitely learned some great techniques. I would recommend this book to all fellow aspiring artists.
