The Big Cheese Standing Falcon Life-like Decoy Deterrent, Scares Birds from Gardens and Buildings

Product is of good quality but I’m not entirely convinced it works as a bird deterrent!

This purchase was primarily to stop pigeons from eating all of the grass seed on my lawn. Netting unfortunately failed as the pigeons just walked carefully across it. This model bird hasn’t completely stopped the pigeons landing on the grass but there’s definitely been a significant reduction. It does require filing with stones to stop it from blowing over and also positioning in different locations every couple of days. If not, the pigeons seem to figure out it’s a model. It’s also important to position it relatively high up - It didn’t seem to deter the pigeons when placed on the floor. Ultimately this has seemed to work as a short term solution while re-seeding the lawn so would recommend it for that purpose.

If I could give Nil Points i.e. no stars I would. From my personal experience I cannot recommend either the Falcon or the Seller. So far, four days of wasted time trying to obtain a replacement without success. The problem seems to stem from this extremely poor quality plastic bird (possibly very old stock due to flaking paint finish) being stuffed inside just a plastic bag and sent without any further protection from inevitable knocks and suchlike during transit i.e. it was not sent in a box, just a film plastic bag covering the bird, which was then in a plastic mailing bag. On removing the bird from its plastic bag white powdery paint fell off its chest. Just a gentle touch caused yet even more paint finish to flake off so the bird looks as if it has a hole in its chest (about the size of the plug hole on the base.) Sea Gulls are intelligent and will know it is not a real falcon thus the item is not fit for purpose.

I've been skeptical for a long time about getting a decoy falcon convinced it was just a rumour. Our garden was getting invaded by pigeons and this time enough was enough was willing to take the risk and hope for the best. A group flew over tried to land in their spot and saw the falcon and flapped so fast up away as quickly as they could haha. It so far has kept pigeons away from our entire garden, seagulls and crows. I highly recommend this item. This is an honest review and I'd hope this review helps someone else who has the same problem. Id recommend not securing it to a particular position and just move it around your garden now and again. Ours is not up very high and it's doing a tremendous job. Don't wait like I did buy it now. It's also on par price wise with some other sellers outside of Amazon and arrived next day. Held down with some soil and a few stones for weight and absolutely solid item and life like size. Works a treat.

Looks great until you look front on as the two half's of the mould are not stuck together evenly making the bird look rubbish to be honest, its only basic glueing guys sorry very poor

so far - after about 6 days - not one bird seen in vicinity apart from seagulls - no birds settled on neighbours roofs, or in garden - too early in the year for starlings -( the main reason for purchase) -- have moved it around every 2 days -- its stuck on a pole and the pole hidden by tall shrubs. Will update when the starlings get here..... 3-4 weeks later --- not a sign of any birds in the garden, good. Yet to have the starlings arrive and the real test will be when the old girl next door puts out the food for those damn creatures. -- she put out food earlier than expected this year so I got this -- and it was never eaten at all -- but will the starlings be scared??? I've stuck the falcon on a pole and move it around the garden as suggested on the net to make these model seem alive to the bird population. Pity this measure denies food to the smaller prettier birds, I like them, but starlings... dangerous bacteria in their poo, mob other birds, and are bloody noisy....

Optisch gutes Produkt, Vögel und Tauben allerdings unbeeindruckt. Setzen sich sogar auf den Kopf des Plastikfalken. Daher als Taubenschreck nicht geeignet.

carino ma mi sa che piace anche ai piccioni, non spaventa nessuno, dovrebbe essere proposto come uccello decorativo perché non ha alcuna utilità
