ADVANCED ELEMENTS Double Action Pump w/Pressure Gauge

This is a great pump designed for low pressure, none drop stitched kayaks, not drop stitched kayaks or sups, even though it can go up to 14.5psi. So ignore the reviews saying it pressed the button and let the air out as its not designed for the high pressure halkey roberts valves. To be fair it is a bit confusing. Also the gauge works just fine.

Now, this might well be fine for certain inflatables, but not mine. I've got a Itiwit 500, the adapter i need was there, great, BUT it has a plastic bar on the inside, so that when i place the pump on the valve it has pushed the valve down into an open position. This means that after pumping it with air, when i release it, it just lets out all the air, cause the pump has pushed the valve down... Perhaps this is just that my boat has long valve stems and this bit isnt an issue. However, 3 other things to note: 1. each different adapter twist locks into place. The problem is that when you're twisting the pump off after inflating, the turning motion im doing half the time unlocked the adapter, leaving it in the valve, so im just left with the hose end. Which whilst manageable is pretty annoying. 2. The adapters are all tied right at the end of the hose, so when you're actually trying to grip the end of those hose and put it to your kayak, you've got all the other adapters in the way, making it hard to grip. This can be solved with just cutting them off, but then you've just got lose adapters. 3. The pressure gauge - as others have noted, im not too sure it works. I haven't tested this too much, but it was displaying way lower than the pressure i expected. But i couldn't actually pump up my kayak, so couldn't test it too much. All in all, if it works for your boat its probably fine, but I had a very disappointing day. But lessons learnt, gotta test out new purchases before you get to the river!

It looks like a well made machine. It does have a pressure gauge fitted but I am not sure if it is all that affective. It did pump up the kayak but it would have been a lot easier with an electric pump powered from the car
