I have a very dry mouth and had hoped these would work sorry to say they only helped while the tablet was still in my mouth once it was dissolved the dry mouth returned it possibly could work for others

Positives: I have a very dry mouth, especially in the morning, and these pastilles give you most of the freshness your mouth needs. Whatever people are saying, the taste is fine; they taste a bit lemony (in my opinion), but there is no real taste to them at all. Negatives: £5 is a lot of money as you are told to have 3-4 a day and the pack may run out in, say, over a week. Due to the dry mouth that I have, the product does not completely give me the best of fresh breaths (I'm probably an anomaly though). Overall: If you have acute - moderate bad breath this may give you what you want, plus without having to reluctantly suck the pastille as there is no taste. But, be aware that this packet may only last you for 1 week - 2 weeks, which means £5 notes are needed continually.

No effect whatsoever. 'Extra' chewing gum much more helpful and costs much less.

i suffer with a dry mouth but have managed it with the help of water, sweets and gum. i never thought to look for a solution till i started caring for my aged mum who was clearly battling with a very dry mouth, which her doctors did nothing about once they ruled out all the obvious causes. these pastilles aren't really sweets. they are more like sugarcoated pills that you have to suck to benefit from the residue they leave in your mouth. both mom and i tried them and were impressed with how quickly they worked. they dryness stayed away for as long as we didn't drink or eat anything. we both liked the slight lemon flavour and as i suffer from motion sickness, i found them very useful to use while out driving. these pastilles wont cure a dry mouth but will relieve the symptons. they are useful when used in conjuntion with other dry mouth products, like toothpaste and gel

One aspect of life that comes with having Type 2 Diabetes is a dry mouth. This is sometimes caused by the medication taken to control the condition and can be a side effect of other medicines, in my case cardiac and blood pressure tablets. I often get a dry mouth, sometimes minutes after having consumed a hot or cold drink, so anything that helps retain a moist mouth and avoids the dry tongue effect is considered helpful. I have tried these pastilles by Xerostom over a couple of weeks now and find that they work well. Coming from a Roundtree's fruit gum generation I had assumed, wrongly it seems, that a pastille was a chewy gel based sweet. These pastilles are not what I imagined at all. They come in the form of a hard white tablet, rather like a large aspirin and are somewhat chalky on the tongue. They have a flavour of lemon and you simply suck them until completely dissolved, coating your mouth enough to retain or make saliva. The blurb on the packet states that they "relieve pain associated with dry mouth,and mitigate thirst". The only downside is that they cost almost £5 for 30 pastilles, so one should take that into account when buying them. I tend to take one last thing at night to prevent waking up with a tongue as dry as leather. Suitable for Diabetics and for those with PKU or Phenylketonuria. I find that they work for me.

I'm sure some people might find these helpful, but to me, there was no difference between using these vs. much cheaper sugar-free sweets. The taste is fine, but they didn't lubricate my mouth, or cause me to produce any more saliva so, for me, they were pretty useless so definitely not worth the cost and I certainly wouldn't buy them again.

I buy these for my mom who recently underwent chemotherapy and these have really helped with keeping her mouth from being dry.
