Really handy smart button and easy to use.
The Tapo S200B Smart Button is a great little device and really useful for quick one-click control. It’s compact, simple to set up, and works well with the Tapo app and compatible smart home devices. The one-click alarm feature is especially handy for extra peace of mind, whether you want it for security, alerts, routines, or just as a quick trigger for other smart devices. It feels responsive, doesn’t take up much space, and can be placed somewhere convenient. Overall, it’s a practical smart home accessory that makes everyday routines easier and adds an extra layer of convenience. I’d definitely recommend it.

Simple smart control without rewiring
Really useful little smart button once you start setting automations up. I’m using mine with Tapo smart bulbs and it works great for turning lights on/off without cutting the power at the wall switch. The button feels solid, response time is quick, and setup through the Tapo app was very straightforward. Single press, double press and rotation actions give quite a few options depending on what you want to control. Worth mentioning that it does require a compatible hub, so bear that in mind before buying. I picked up the Tapo H200 hub at a good price and together they work brilliantly. Can't really comment on battery life but no issues so far and the magnetic mounting makes placement easy. Definitely one of those smart home gadgets that ends up being more useful than expected.

Easy to set up and perfect for controlling multiple lights
I have two Tapo S200B smart buttons, one controlling three lights, the other controlling two lights and a dimming function. Setup was very straightforward through the Tapo app, and the buttons are highly responsive. I love that I can customise each button to control different scenes and devices. The rotation could be set up to do other things than just control dimness. Pros: Easy installation Long battery life Highly customisable actions Cons: Non yet This is a great addition to any smart home setup. They are pretty quick and responsive. It simplifies controlling multiple lights with a single click and is very reliable once configured, and can be added to home assistant.

Great smart switch - terrible if you have children
As the title suggests, my experience with this smart switch has been excellent, it is lightweight, portable and has excellent features. Because it connects over wifi, it can be taken and used anywhere in your house with wifi coverage. If you don't have kids or your kids are 15+ the these smart switch's are perfect for upgrading your house to smart devices. My personal setup is tapo smart dimmable bulbs and this button and it works flawlessly. There's a second or two of delay between pressing the button and the light turning on, but I've actually come to appreciate this feature as it allows me to get further before the light goes out 😂 Appearance : Small round white button with rotary function for dimming smart bulbs. Houses with kids under 15: If you have kids that are under 15,heavy handed, get up regularly throughout the night or have anger issues then this is not the button for you Kids generally don't care about application of force on light switches and the like, so this button got damaged very quickly between my stepsons anger issues and his nephews autism(liked to play with the button, spamming it hard). The button sometimes doesn't register button presses but instead registers it as rotary button presses, which can be an issue as you recieve complaint that the light isn't working. If you want a more durable switch try the tp link tapo smart switches, they run on batteries and works with all wiring configurations. Rating for childless houses : 5/5 Rating for houses with kids : 4/5 Value for money - childless houses : 5/5 Value for money - houses with kids 3.5/5

These are so much better than Lifx with Flic buttons
Smart bulbs and buttons are great but having used them for 10 years now, they come with a lot of issues. One big one is that the reality of smart kit is that you need some way for everyone to be able to use them. For example, are you going to ask your parents in law to download the app, give them admin permissions and to use the app to switch the bathroom light on? No!!! So this is where these handy buttons come in. I have persevered for years with Lifx and Flic buttons and, the flic buttons run out of power all the time, disconnect and also they're not very robust. Add the crappy Lifx bulbs into the equation and you have a system thats just unrelaible. These Tapo ones are like night and day better. Firstly like all Tapo kit, they're so easy to add into your network. They literally take 30 seconds. You can then create all kinds of things to do on a "click", "Double click" and also rotate. The flic buttons had a click, db click and long press, but I don;t miss the long press at all. You can be creative with the tapo buttons. So for example. I have a set of bulbs toggling ON/OFF with a click, I have the landing light on a double click and you can actually turn a bulb or set of bulbs on/off using rotate left and right too. Its quite intuitive to use in fact. The buttons come with a metal back plate that can be stuck or screwed to the desired location. The button then magnetizes onto that so you can take them off and leave them at your bedisde and then replace in the morning. The bad thing about that is you can lose them or even mix them up but thats not happened to me. They're big but I kind of like them and the little ones find them easier to use too. The white colour makes them fit in well with existing classic switches so the size doesn't really make them an eyesore at all. 2 months later and I have had no disconnects. One power outage saw all my Tapo kit come back to life and connect without any issues or re-setup needed at all and they are really fast to operate and also just reliable. So far, by far the best smart buttons I have used. With the rpice at £11 too they're the cheapest!!!

Tapo have nailed it - well done!
Tapo nailed it the button. I've tried so many different smart switches, needed something to work with alexa routines and home assistant but all have been tricky to set up and unreliable. something that should be so easy so many smart home companies got it wrong. Tapo have created a product that is reasonably priced , stylish , easy to set up, rotate , click and double click functions , reliable and works with alexa and home assistant. these will be my go to smart switches. well done tapo.

Works and does the job
Tapo smart home things in my opinion are the best, and this button is great it does what I need it too do and controls my tapo smart bulb in my lamp, instead of using voice control. It was very easy too connect up using the tapo app and works pretty much straight away with out to much delays, connecting it to the Hs200 hub otherwise it won't work. Happy with it bought two more for later use.

Cheap and basic: Good from a value standpoint but with limitations for advanced usecases
First, let's talk the button. For what it is it's very good. It detects single presses or double presses but it would be nice to also have a long press action like some other switches on the market have. The dimmer switch is a nice touch, something not all smart buttons will have, not everything needs this but it gains some usefulness in the bedroom. Second, let's talk the smarts. If everything you want to control is within the Tapo app and Tapo ecosystem then this will work very well for you. I would like to also see buttons exposed properly over Matter for use Homekit or Home Assistant. If you bind the Tapo Hub to Matter it will expose motion sensors no problem at all but smart buttons do not show at all other than a single unknown device with an identity button. This is an issue I've also had with other smart buttons (Sonoff) but the vendor pushed out a firmware update for their hubs that fixed this so it's definitely possible. Right now I'm only using these buttons to control lights and smart plugs so they function well enough within the Tapo ecosystem but I see no reason to limit its usefulness to this.

European model - USELESS in North America
PAY ATTENTION if you are seeing this item listed on the North American market. The item I received was the European version. It is not mentioned anywhere, but it is actually crucial. The seller is in the UK, or at least ships from the UK. The version is omitted from the listing – maybe intentionally or they may simply be clueless, but before purchasing any TP-Link devices from them, you need to make sure they are NOT the European version. Unless your hub is also a European model, you will not be able to pair them together. These devices were made to use different frequencies according to the region they were intended for. This comes directly from TP-Link. It will come up in the web searches when you’ll try to figure out why you are not able to pair your new device. I’m not sure if links are allowed in reviews, but you can simply copy and paste the following in any search engine: “What Should I Do if My Tapo Sensors or Buttons Won’t Connect to My Tapo Hub?” They also provided a few photos in there, so you can easily understand what to look for. Just in case, I will repeat TP-Link's instructions here as well. It’s very easy: to check what region the device was intended for, simply locate the Model NO, either on the back of the box or the device itself. In both cases it will be written above a barcode. The region code will be at end of the Model NO, in brackets. For this item in particular, it looks like this: “MODEL NO. Tapo S200B(EU).” You should see EU (Europe), US (North America), or some other 2 letter code. They are “region” specific, not country specific, so don’t expect a CA for Canada, for example. AGAIN: you need the same 2 letter region code on both the hub and the device you want to pair to it, or else they will not “see” each other. PLEASE do not take the information above for granted. My intention is to point you in the right direction, but do you own research before purchasing. Look at your hub’s model number, ask questions, ask the seller, ask TP-Link customer service, etc. Good luck!
