The leading sports massage expert Mel Cash now publishes this indispensable guide to the human muscular and skeletal system. It contains all the most relevant information needed to understand how the human body moves and maintains posture, drawing together knowledge from several different areas of medical science and presenting it in a clear and simple style. There is nothing similar available on the market, and the book is essential for all students of human biology, medicine and physical therapy (orthodox and complementary), and anyone involved at any level in sport, exercise, or dance. The 40 specially commissioned colour illustrations, plus 25 line drawings, provide a full picture of the human muscular and skeletal system, and the accompanying text explains how they may become injured, and the various other causes of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Review: The Pocket Atlas Of The Moving Body - I found The Pocket Atlas of the Moving Body really useful for understanding how muscles and bones work together in movement. It explains things in a clear, simple way without overcomplicating it, which makes it good for students or anyone interested in sport or anatomy. The colour illustrations and line drawings help a lot in visualising the structures. I paid £7.69 for it, which felt reasonable for what you get. If bought through desertcart Prime, delivery is quick and the 30-day returns policy is reassuring in case it’s not what you expected. Review: Great book - Very clear and useful!

The best book for learning anatomy
Was recommended this book by my tutor my my Sports Massage course and I cannot get over how amazing this book has been! Diagrams are very clear and easy to read and understand. Is small enough to take anywhere with no issues. Does the job perfectly and is very informative. Really recommend this book for anyone trying to learn anatomy and all the msucke groups, bones and movements. Absolutely perfect!

Love the layout of this invaluable and succinct anatomy book
A very well thought out reference book in a most convenient size. Brilliant learning tool. Each of the layers of the various anatomical parts are clealy illustrated in an unfussy way, making it easier for the brain to absorb. A pleasure to use even for tired eyes!

Excellent for use with clients
Although this book may lack the detail a serious student of kinesiology might want or need, I believe that level of detail would be difficult to fit into a "pocket" book format by any author. Instead, those students might be best served by a set of Netter's Anatomy flashcards - just pulling the muscle cards from the set would create something similar to a pocket guide with considerable detail. What this pocket guide IS fantastic for is when you want to show a client which muscle(s) you are targetting. Sure, some clients will be interested and/or knowledgeable enough to want to see more advanced materials, but I have found that for most clients the clarity and simplicity of the muscle pictures and info in this pocket manual are exactly the right amount of info to try to convey. If you are not just a student but are actually a practitioner working with clients, this pocket atlas can serve as an inexpensive yet effective and handy addition to your client education materials.

Most needed book to brush up for exams.
Too good for beginners and even for rushing up during exams. Handy at times when there is urgency to refer subject but there is no time.

Molto bello
Mi piace molto perché è bello, con dei disegni bellissimi delle ossa, muscoli superficiali e quelli profondi con tutte le spiegazioni di movimenti ecc.

Not as good as promised
A very unremarkable book. Compared to other books by the same author this is quite poor and the illustrations are lacking in detail. Useful as a quick reference guide, but there are better options.
