I am not sure what cable I should use to plug the power supply module into the mains. I know my dyson vacuum cleaner charger cable fits into it

Do the buttons in this kit act as switches (i.e. turn circuit on & off) or are they just to be used as inputs when connected to a Raspberry Pi etc?
