DD Hammocks Camping Hammock - Lightweight Double Layer Hammock For Backpacking Hiking And Travel, Easy Set Up

This is a very strong, very comfortable piece of kit. I've been camping in Europe with it and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. A few points to go by- Comfort- Brilliant. It's easy to adjust to, even though I sleep on my side I find that by tying it quite tightly it can support me comfortably in the foetal position. Obviously a little extra insulation is required beneath you, but a cheap £5 silver mat is more than enough for this. Don't worry about falling out either, it'd be very difficult. I roll around a lot whilst sleeping and am not concerned by it, the way the fabric rises either side when your weight is placed in the middle keeps you very secure. IT is vastly more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. Versatility- You can sleep in places you would never have been comfortable with a set up that remains on the ground. Steep slopes, very rocky terrain, wet terrain, marshy terrain, tree roots and holes- they're suddenly a non-issue. Obviously you need 2 supports either end but the straps are very long, you'd be surprised by where you can get away with. Speed- 1 minute to set up once you've found a spot. It's simply wrap around then a knot, 2 times, the knots don't even have to be very good. The straps are very long and VERY strong, I can't ever see them breaking without a knife being taken to them. They grip trees very well indeed and don't cause any damage to the wood you're using. You can use it to stop and take a rest from walking or biking, something I'd never consider with a tent or tarp. Putting it up in the wind isn't any bother either. Carriage- It's a small extra item to carry and really doesn't take up any bag room. It packs away easily, though the straps can be a faff, but doesn't take more than 2 minutes if it's very windy. Durability- The material that forms the hammock itself is very strong, as are the straps. I suspect this hammock will outlast me if looked after. No worries here. All in all, excellent purchase. I won't go camping without it now. A good nights sleep and excellent if you have back issues. Cannot recommend enough to those who may be sceptical.

This hammock was my first introduction into the world of hammock camping. It was recommended by many people from scout groups to military personel so I had to give it a go. This hammock by DD Hammocks is one of the best you can find at this price. It served me well for many camping trips with my local scout group and makes a nice change to sleeping on the floor on sometimes uneven and lumpy campsites. The DD Camping Hammock is ideally suited for people who want start exploring the options that hammock camping provides, without spending a fortune. It comes with: - 2 zippers (on 1 zip) for easy entry/ exit - Two layer design that allows cocoon-like sleeping - You can lie out in the open (on top of both layers) with the option to put a thermarest/ camping mat between the layers as insulation - Comes with 10m of webbing/ rope attached ready to hang - Stuff Sack (size when packed approx 30cm x 10cm) The 2 zippers (on 1 zip) might sound like a gimmick but it does make life much easier when entering and exiting the hammock. Its much harder to touch your toes whilst in your sleeping bag and swinging in a hammock than you may think. The two layer design comes into its own when camping in colder conditions. Having the option of adding a roll mat under you at night greatly increases the warmth and comfort of the hammock. 10 meters of webbing is more than enough for 99% of situations where you will want to hang your hammock. If you are new to hammock camping, I would not recommend rushing to buy the Whoopie Suspension System straight away. It is a luxury item and is not essential (I have used both and they both work well). Add it on at a later date if you feel you will benefit from it. The stuff sack is what makes this hammock the ultimate camping setup for 99% of people. At only 30x10cm when packed, this hammock can fit in most combat trouser pockets (leg pocket). This option has allowed me to take this out when hiking, find a nice quiet spot by the river and set up the hammock. The hammock makes an excellent seat or you can have a lay down for a power hour if you are going for longer walks. This hammock allows you to escape the limits of traditional tent camping. The only issue I found with this hammock is when zipped up inside the hammock, it can be slightly claustraphobic as the top layer has no support and does hang in your face. It also has a habit of gathering condensation on the inside during the night. These points are only minor and can easily be resolved with the use of tarp clips (cheap on amazon) to hold the top layer up during the night. Overall, I would truely recommend this hammock to anyone looking to start hammock camping. Its an affordable way to start seeing camping in a whole new light. CAUTION: Hammock Camping is very enjoyable and can get quite expensive once you are addicted... There are as many optional extras for hammocks as there trees to hang them from.

I spent quite a while researching different hammocks and finally settled on this one for the quality, price, functionality and the company selling them. I am really pleased with my purchase and due to the zipped compartment I can use it in different ways of I want to. You will need to either become accomplished at tying knots or buy the extra items to hang it but to be quite honest I just tie the knots each time I put the hammock out - it didn't take long to learn the knots and doesn't take long to hang it each time. I purchased it to give me pain relief from widespread chronic pain and it has really helped due to it being able to take my body weight and allowing me to hang there and relax for a while - The only problems I have are getting enough peace and quiet to use it and stopping the cat and dog jumping in it with me!

This hammock is great. I don't own any others to compare it too and haven't used it outdoors but the strength of the thing is impressive. After a bit of getting used to I can tie it up in 10 min max with minimum effort and 1 min to take down when tied with the right knott. I find it comfy and relaxing to lie on but wouldn't use outdoors without my sleeping mat as the material is thin, strong and lightweight but not in any way insulating not that it.'s supposed to be but thought I should mention it. Brill for an afternoon nap and this year (with tarp) is going to replace my 2 man tent as my go to adventure shelter. All for less than 30 quid!

i was really surprised how sturdy it was, i am very new to hammock camping or just using one in general. I did tie my rope twice around a tree, so perhaps it was positioned a bit to close to the tree. But since i only use it for a short camp & rest setup its fine. I did notice ur back getting cold fast, so if i was to sleep in this i would need an insulation pad & tarp for rain. A funny thing i did and didnt know untill later is that i zipped myself completely in it, i wanted to have a little nap and being protected from the bugs, since i had no net, zipping myself into the slot where u put ur mat works fine. You can even see through it if u want to. It was easy to essemble but i will switch out the rope for hammock straps for ease. but the rope is plenty strong and wont slide. I am a woman who is 182cm tall & has broader hips and was really happy to see the hammock was broad enough. Will for sure try out more products :D

Being new to hammocking I choose to start with this simple and straightforward option. I can't fault it, easy to set up, easy to use and easy to pack. Only thing missing is the mosquito net but I have bought one to add to it when needed. It will have to be tested further but at present this is enough for me and my needs. I am giving it four stars due to the lack of mosquito net. Update: I have now added a Frontline hammock to my collection as I am very happy with their products.

Excelent product- always take on my holiday as it is small and light. Very comfy as well. It is sitting in my car just in case. Slept few nigts in the woods with DD 3x3 tarp over. IT was raining all night no problems I was bone dry and it takes 10 min to do the whole set up.I guess you can half this time if you have a chance to use it more often. Great for walking and wild camping, keeps you off the ground so you don't have to worry about bumpy or soggy ground, however you must ensure there are some trees around.

Used this now in wind, rain, sub zero an sunshine. It's great. Verra lightweight, verra comfy. Took me a bit of time adjustin to the ties, my old hammock had thick 25 mm straps like those on ratchet straps, this has thinner braided type straps about 3mm by 10mm. Once I got the hang, easy. Always hung a tarp overhead. Not had a bad night's sleep yet in it. I hoped for decent an expected to be disappointed. I wasna disappointed, just the opposite, this DD Hammocks lightweight hammock is way better than expected. Light, compact an easily fixed up. I like it so much I got the sleeve and a 3.5x3.5 tarp from DD improve things even more. If you want light, compact an practical, get a DD hammock

DD Hammocks è una sicurezza. Costruzione e cuciture ineccepibili. E' composta da un doppio telo chiuso da un lato e con la zip dall'altro, utile per inserire uno strato isolante o per inserire se stessi, tipo bozzolo. Il tessuto è traspirante quindi nessuna difficoltà di respirazione. Messa a terra diventa una sorta di bivy bag oppure, con un po' di inventiva, una mini tenda, ma messa fra due alberi da il meglio di se, un letto sospeso! Si lega in due minuti scarsi, ci sono diversi video illustrativi sul sito del produttore, e si ripone in un attimo. E' dotata di due corde a fettuccia da circa 5mt ciascuna, ed una sacchetta per il trasporto, che una volta montata l'amaca può essere appesa come porta oggetti. Solida e consistente, si avverte subito, al tatto, la differenza con quelle da quattro soldi; quando ci si siede diventa una poltrona con tanto di poggiatesta, quando ci si sdraia ti abbraccia, ci manca solo che ti canti la ninna nanna... In entrambi i casi se ben legata non cede di un centimetro, perfettamente statica. Provare per credere. Che dormite...!

Seit 4 Jahren meine Lieblingshängematte, wenn es um das Verhältnis Preis, Gemütlichkeit, Robustheit und Aufbau geht. Ich habe schon viele Hängematten gestestet, aber die DD kommt definitiv in die Top 3 und wenn es um das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis geht, ist sie klarer Sieger. Meine Amazonas ist deutlich kleiner und leichter, aber die DD im Vergleich wesentlich robuster, zudem ist die Aufhängung inkludiert und muss nicht extra gekauft werden, was ich sehr angenehm finde. Überhaupt gefällt mir die Aufhängung extrem gut, weil sie dafür sorgt, dass sie wahnsinnig kippstabil ist und man eigentlich nur rausfallen kann, wenn man irgendwelche komischen Verrenkungen ausführt. In den Zwischenboden kann man hervorragend eine Iso Matte einlegen, so dass man von unten keine Kälte spürt. Dabei funktioniert, wie bei fast jeder Hängematte, die gute alte Schaumstoffisomatte wesentlich besser als die aufblasbaren Matten. Die Schaumstoffmatten sind einfach flexibler und das passt besser mit der Hängematte und er Benutzung zusammen. Ganz klare Empfehlung, hier kann man nichts verkehrt machen! OutdoorMinimalist.net

***Edited after customer service sent replacement hammock. I love the idea DD hammocks has with this hammock, but it could use several easy modifications. 1) the straps are essentially useless. Unless you are hammocking in perfect weather, you will need to replace the straps. The material absorbs water like a sponge and they have terrible grip to the tree. If you are hammocking in the rain, YOU WILL GET WET. Doesn’t matter how many drip lines you add. 2) another modification I will make is adding little paracord loops to the zippers. Not essential, but certainly would make using the zippers a little easier if you are sleeping inside. Overall, it’s a decent hammock, but for the price, I’m a bit disappointed that I have to make these type of modifications (especially the straps) to make it usable. *suggestion....a cool modification for future designs would be to make the zipper double sided and offer liners (fleece/flannel, etc) for cooler weather hammocking ******* I would give a Zero star if I could. Extremely disappointed in this purchase. This company has a lot of great reviews in various forums online, but the first time I ever sat in it, the thing ripped. I don’t know if this is just a cheap seller online and these aren’t legit DD hammocks or if I just got a bad one. Needless to say, I’ll have to use my other hammock on my backpacking trip. Very sad. The straps also aren’t nearly as wide as I thought they were.

Pacco ricevuto come sempre puntualmente. La Amaca è come da descrizione e personalmente la trovo perfetta e molto comoda. Seppur più grande della SuperLight, questa Amaca ha due cose che per me sono molto importanti. La prima la possibilità di chiudersi dentro totalmente, che in alcuni casi è molto comodo e poi quella di avere le fettucce già attaccate e quindi velocissima nella installazione. Acquisto consigliatissimo !!
