Adorable but missing screws & some too small but that’s what Ace Hardware is for

This feels like it was cheaply designed by someone with creative ideas who had seen a picture of a shelf but never actually built one and then had to use it. Or they just didn't care if their product functioned as advertised. It looks great out of the box, BUT- the included hardware is nonsensical if you want the back to be parallel to the wall so the shelf is level and not tipped downward (to dump whatever you put on it immediately). The glorified staples used to attach the shelf to the base are a separate problem to be solved. If the shelf needs to hold more than a few ounces, you'll need to add brackets or other support. Just removing the shelf portion and using the base and keyhooks is not an option, especially after paying more than 5 dollars, as the whole thing was painted after assembly. Leaving the shelf off after the third time it's fallen (without any weight on it) from lack of support means leaving a glaring strip of unfinished processed wood-ish composite exposed. They could have used real nails or screws, they could have put a moment's thought into mounting hardware. They chose not to.

Very sturdy and just as described! Gift for my daughters room

Ordered this cat shelf for my daughter’s birthday. I meant it to fit under the wall-mounted TV in her room, to hold her Nintendo Switch dock. It arrived quickly, with the packaging intact and no damage to the box, but on opening the box I found the cat shelf was only loosely placed inside some small bubble wrap, and it was broken. The shelf itself was completely detached from the cat-shaped back piece, which initially made me think assembly must be required. However, upon closer inspection I saw that the nails that were meant to hold the shelf on were still attached to the back, and they were all bent at an angle. Looks like the shelf was hit from the top side and knocked completely off. I thought maybe I could repair it, but then I saw that the black finish was badly scuffed and scratched, and some paint was missing. Had I nailed the shelf back on, I still would have had to repaint/refinish the whole thing. In addition, one of the two mounting brackets on the back was broken, with a nail completely missing. I promptly returned it and requested a replacement, because the shelf really would have been perfect for what I’m looking for. I just received the replacement today. The box was ever so slightly bent on one end, but otherwise in perfect shape. I was hopeful. But then I opened it to again find the cat shelf in a loose wrapping of bubble wrap, which allowed it way too much movement in the box. Again, the shelf was broken off from the back piece, in exactly the same way the first one had been. I turned it over and yet again, only one mounting bracket was properly attached. This time, though, the second one was completely detached. I found it in the bottom of the box. This shelf is a little better off that the first, as it is not scratched and scuffed, and it looks like I might be able to remove the nails that are sticking out and hammer the shelf back in with new ones. I might not have to touch up any paint, but that remains to be seen. I’ll have to attach the other mounting bracket, as well. I’m going to keep it, because there isn’t time to get another replacement here in time for my daughter’s birthday, but I am greatly displeased. There is no excuse for the inadequacy of packing, and I don’t believe that mounting bracket had ever been attached in the first place. That’s laziness on the part of the manufacturer. The fact that it happened once was bad enough, but twice? And now I have to be out more time, plus expenses for supplies to make the thing be what it should have been to begin with. It’s an adorable shelf, but this experience has been very frustrating. I feel like I should be refunded the amount I’ll have to spend for repairs. Buyer, beware!

On the back the ear is severely cracked. The front has a chip missing.

This product arrived broken and the shelf was severely scratch due to this. The brads used to attach the shelf scratched the bottom of the shelf.

This is made well and sturdy. I like that it is basic black that way you can embellish it however u want. Comes with wall hanging hardware already installed.
