I’ve tried a few UV torches, and many claim to be 365nm, but most actually turn out to be 395nm, which doesn’t work as well for certain applications. So I was quite impressed when I found that this DARKBEAM UV Torch is indeed 365nm and delivers the right UV wavelength. It works really well with gemstones, highlighting the natural fluorescence and making them pop under the light. It’s a compact, sturdy little torch that’s easy to carry and operate, and the brightness is perfect for a variety of uses. While it’s a small torch, it’s definitely effective for what I need, and I’m happy to have found one that lives up to its claims. If you’re looking for a true 365nm UV light for a good price, this is a solid option.

Was a bit sceptical about this light as some of the reviews mentioned the light still appeared to have some visible light - but no, this is exactly the same as my other two Alonefire lights in respect of the filter and how well it removes the visible light. Pointed at a non-uv-fluorescing surface, hardly any any reflection is seen. Looking directly at the light with protection (DON'T - I have so you don't have to😊) you will of course see some glow, but very little. Compared the cheap non-filtered 395nm lights this is great. Compared to the Alonefire SV16 (quoted as 5w) this Darkbeam (quoted as 1.3w) has a similar output. Probably a slightly tighter beam, but with a correspondingly brighter spot. So at a slightly further distance, the Darkbeam is roughly the same intensity and spot size as the SV16. I wanted something to replace my cheap pocket 395nm light and this is exactly the same size but with a far superior UV output. If you want a small pocketable UV light that has a decent enough output this is a good choice. You can get brighter ones for not a lot more, but they will be substantially larger. Incidentally, the pictures in the Amazon listing make the lamp look bigger than it is (I guess bigger is better right?!) but at 90x22mm this is about the same size of a chunky AA pocket light. See picture of it in my (fairly average sized?) male hands :) I haven't had the chance to test the battery life, so will update if I get the chance.

Just arrived today, this Darkbeam mini V4 is really small and neat (9cm long and weighing 59g including wrist strap). Displays red light when charging, changing to green when fully charged. Thought our house was pretty clean until it got dark and i went round it with this torch - guess I'm going to have to stock up on elbow grease in the next few days at it shows up every little cobweb, every splash of water on the bathroom tiles, pretty much any dust around, and other splashes/drips that I have no idea about! Scary stuff indeed! I didn't buy it to set off a flurry of out-of-season Spring cleaning, but to look at some rock specimens - guess they'll have to wait for now as I'm going to be rather busy for the next few days. Oh, and shine it at bank notes and certificates and you may be surprised at things that show up that you never knew were there! On the negative side, the wrist strap was very fiddly to get through the tiny hole, and the torch gets quite warm in use. Not sure how long the battery lasts, but it was definitely going dim and needed re-charging by the time I'd gone through the whole house in disbelief!

I Purchased this as I have recently started crafting and wanted to try UV Resin! I happened to be sat tonight in my craft room when the light bulb blew and all I can say is I HATE THIS LIGHT....it has made me re-evaluate my levels of hygiene! I consider my home to be clean - not always tidy but ALWAYS CLEAN but this light tells a different story! It is an amazing UV light but unless you have a month available to bleach your home from ceiling to floor (yes there are areas on the ceiling- i don't want to think what/how) do not turn this on in the dark - I think it would be easier to blow the house up and rebuild haha. Side note:- it is amazing at curing UV Resin - the reason I purchased it, so much better than the light that came with the kit! But I think in the future I'll be checking my house in the dark when I've finished the cleaning to ensure I have actually done the job as well as I think I have - this tiny but powerful torch scares me

Very bright and intense UV torch. It has multiple uses for discovering items that fluoresce in UV light. Pet stains, for instance. I hear people use it for testing glass as uranium infused glass glows under UV. I might try that sometime. I only got this torch because I've always wanted one. Kinda wish I hadn't because flashing it around my clean house (under normal light) reveals otherworldly nightmares of dust, invisible stains, unseen smudges and hand-prints, etc. However, using it on my passport and money was a treat. The thing is intense enough to put off a noticeable level of heat. Not like uncomfortable, just warm. The battery charges fairly fast and holds about an hour's charge before a noticeable drop in brightness.

They work. The grossness torches work! If you think you have a clean home, these will change your mind. If you're a germaphobe or a clean freak do not use this in the dark or you'll be trying to clean every single little dot.

Works as advertised, you can easily spot visible marks that you cant see in normal light. Was suprised of how powerful the light was, it works best in dark environments but can actually light up certain compunds in bright rooms aswell. A charging cable is included

Voldoet aan de verwachtingen, handig item, klein en oplaadbaar. Ik raad het zeker aan, en ben blij dat ik het gekocht, ik heb 4 katten in huis en er gebeurd wel eens een ongelukje, zo kan ik meteen zien waar ik moet reinigen om de onaangename geur te verwijderen. De verzending ging vlot, dag nadien al ontvangen en was al opgeladen bij ontvangst, ik kon er meteen gebruik van maken. Je zou versteld staan, je mag nog zo goed gepoest hebben, je wil niet weten welke zaken nog tevoorschijn komen met de sterkte van dit lampje.
