SL-590-Cvr Outdoor Lock Box with Protective Rubber Cover Medium

We are using this in a somewhat unorthodox way. We have had a spare set of keys hidden in an outside compartment of our motorhome so we wouldn't have to break in if somehow we locked ourselves out. And one day recently, that is exactly what happened! Up till now, we had been using a simple magnetic key box that was fine - that is until we had to access it in a park filled with people. I never felt comfortable again knowing that if someone unscrupulous had been watching - or if not this time, the next time, they would know how to enter our motorhome any time they pleased. So the hunt began for a better alternative. That led me to this product. What I really like about this unit is that it has the rubberized exterior that looks an awful lot like the rubber used in the compartment we have been using for our spare keys. What this means is this: it blends in perfectly and looks like it's supposed to be there, rather than have a metal lock box that sticks out like a sore thumb saying "Look at me! Here I am!" It was easy for my husband to install, and is easy to use! I don't think most people think of using something like this for their rv/camper/ motorhome, but it has turned out to be a great solution for us!

These are great lockboxes. We have been putting them on all our heavy equipment with the master key inside and have not had any complaints from the operators. Heavy duty and fits a full key ring.

We were looking for a lock that did not have a 'roller lock'. it is outside and it freezes up in the winter. This works well..and was easy to install...I am a little concerned with the plastic 'latch' that holds the doors shut...it is only a few months old and it already showing wear.

We installed this at our vacation rental in Pigeon Forge. When we were renting to nearby guests it wasn't a problem meeting them to give them the keys. Now that the word is out, we are renting to guests 3-4 hours away and had to mail keys back and forth. This box is so easy to set your own code and change whenever you like. It's easy to give instructions for guests to be access the keys. Buying another today for another property.

Update: still works after 4 years but the cover has deteriored badly and the strap that kept the cover closed has broken off. Can't find a replacement cover anywhere and really don't want to repurchase an entire unit for that! The mfr needs to offer replacement covers! We've got this in a fairly exposed area near our airbnb. Have had no problems with it after 2 months, although some of our guests can't seem to figure it out. You have to hit Clear and re-enter the code to open. I finally put some instructions inside the box explaining that. If you have pushed any of the buttons randomly then you need to clear and then redo the code.

This box is a little bigger than some, and is smooth to operate. I like that the door is hinged and that it has a rubber cover that makes it less conspicuous.
