Review: Aquaponics for Beginners Book - This book was very helpful with getting us started as beginners in aquaponics. We were able to grow a great deal of basil and other herbs with its help! Review: Excellent resource - Bought this for my husband as he was starting up our second setup- we had one previously that was fairly successful but was a pain in the butt. After getting this book and him reading it, he was able to understand WHY it had been so difficult the first try. The book has great elementary information, enough to absolutely get you all the way to a really successful setup. Using what he learned from this book, the Hubs was able to correct mistakes he hadnโt realized he had made the first time around, and this time the whole thing is running fantastically! Itโs a really good resource, well laid out and solid information with practical use applications easily applied. If youโre looking to start an aquaponic setup this will serve your needs well, plus some!

A Great Introduction
There is a wealth of information in this book. From growing methods to in-depth calculations. While the images can be a bit simplistic, they generally get the point across. Layout of the information feels a bit jumbled. I would definitely recommend this to a hobbyist or someone who needs some more in-depth information than basic tutorials provide.

Great book with lots of practical ideas and info
I have an aqauponics system (I call my experiment) in the backyard. Been doing it for a number of years and read a few other books. This one is the best by far I have read. There is not one way of doing this and every setup has its own conditions. This is helping me get a better balanced system. My fish have thrived while my plants are weaker. I am already working on a better settling system with a pump to reduce the solids - as he explained what is happening to my system based on my observations matching the book. Thank you! I recommend it for anyone starting out or tinkering with existing systems. BTW I have plants on rafts, in 3 inch pvc pipe/mesh cups, and in clay pellets. I have 3 types of ponds running. As I said, I am trying to play with everything to see what works best in my climate and space constraints (Florida).

GREAT BASICS FOR THE BEGINNER
Most of the KNOWLEDGE to start experimenting with this type of Food source. I've read it twice now and I'm still considering a small inhouse experiment with a few shrimp.

Great & Inaccessible Information
Currently on page 24 - Contains excellent information - Color pictures are great and captions are well done The following issues make the information difficult to understand and retain at times - Alphabetical index is great for the paperback version but so much for the Kindle version; initial acronym definitions should be provided as footnotes - Acronyms not listed in index are used in the main body of the text multiple times before meaning is given - Many editing issues (misspelled words; cutoff sentences) - Assumes just a bit too much basic (foundational) knowledge for a beginner instruction book - Jumps around during introduction - Some topics are given more detail than others in the introduction and are abruptly cutoff with a note saying more information to come later

More in depth than what I thought aquaponics would be.
Little too complicated for this looking for a simple way to do things type of guy! Still has some great info for me to understand though. It wonโt go to waste!

All information about aquaponics in one place.
Good level of detail, cookbook approach, with well defined and guided steps with a lot of information and experience in one place. It is worth the money you pay. I am recommending it.

Gradually introduces subjects complexity
Written with a goid teaching style; with clumsy illustrations. Starts as a simple read. By the end of third chapter i thought i was an expert. Then you get into the more technical aspects of the subject. Once i have reread the book a few times i will get my head around the maths! The book focuses on Tilapia as the fish in use, which is not very popular in UK at the moment. I am starting with rainbow trout. So and not a direct out of book experience. The book has given me enough confidence to make a start using an extended IBC based system.

Excellent book, it exceeded my expectations
It gives one the info needed to set-up an aquaponics system. I had read some other material and another book on the subject. This is the book to get.
