IMS Competition Convex Filter Basket for bottomless 58mm portafilters (14g) B702TCH20E

Super happy I snagged this IMS basket on sale—total score! The quality is top-notch, just what you’d expect from IMS, and it works like a dream with my Gaggia E24. Sliding it into the group head is smooth, removing it is even smoother. No more stuck pucks—they pop right out like magic. I rinse it with hot water and dry it after each shot, and my espresso has never been more consistent. I usually dose 16g (sometimes 17g) with a stainless steel puck screen, and it pulls perfect shots every time. Might be tight for 18g with the screen though—haven’t tried it. If you’re using a Gaggia or similar machine, this basket’s a no-brainer upgrade. Highly recommend!

Basket fits perfectly into my 58mm bottomless portafilter that i had bought for my Gaggia Classic Pro espresso machine. It works great and is magnetic.

It doesn't get much better than these baskets. My shots are consistently great. If they weren't it wouldn't be because of this basket. I put 18g in this 20g basket and shots come out perfect on my Rancillo Silvia.

Coming from someone who recently went down the rabbit hole of espresso and upgrading my old 51mm cheap espresso machine to a Gaggia. Got the IMS Competition Convex Basket (H26+ version) a few days ago to pair with the Gaggia Classic Pro, and it’s already become a staple part of the workflow. Coming from the stock basket, the difference in build quality is immediately clear — tighter tolerances, smoother finish, and a base that actually encourages a more even extraction. What I liked most is how this basket responds to good puck prep. With a proper dose, WDT, and even tamp, the flow through a bottomless portafilter is much more uniform. Channeling is significantly reduced, and the shots are coming out with better body and clarity — especially when grinding consistently. The convex base also seems to help reduce soggy pucks and keeps the center from collapsing post-shot. It’s not a flashy upgrade, but is easy to dial in which is important for anyone who doesn’t want to dial in regularly, it makes a real difference. Paired with the right prep, it brings a level of consistency and balance that’s hard to get from a stock basket.

Excellent Quality. I had to return because rim was too tall to allow portafilter to lock in place on my Casabrews 3700Gensez(58mm) so can't say how it works.

The convex bottom helps with distribution; it is a standard double for capacity and fits in either spouted or bottomless portafilters, which helps with compatibility. Some may prefer the flat-bottom style, I find the difference subtle but not determinative as to which is better. Works with magnetic funnels for distribution which helps (some are made from non-magnetic material and thus while they work it won't "stick." A definite upgrade from the "standard" basket that your machine probably came with.

Se ajustó de manera perfecta en mi Gaggia Classic Pro, sobre el portafiltro original. Mejora de manera notable la extracción así como el manejo del café en comparación con los filtros originales. ¡Una mejora necesaria!

The basket itself looks great. Hole uniformity and diameter are very consistent. With one coffee I got insanely better shots, with another I got very sour shots... The only complaint is that it's less magnetic than the OEM baskets so magnetic rings stay more loose on the top.
