John Guest fittings are amazing
Bought a Hotpoint American Fridge Freezer with built in water/ice dispenser. And couldn’t find anything suitable in the form of a valve that would easily convert to the 1/4” size of the supplied water tube with the fridge. Hotpoint do a fridge freezer fitting kit. But it wasn’t suitable for my fridge. This John Guest made it so easy. I also bought John Guest push for 15mm to 3/4” reducer that the push fit adapter screw onto. And also used ptfe tape to make a patent seal. And also purchased a John Guest push fit isolator valves for the inline filter. And a John Guest 90 degree water shut off valve.

Good Quality Part Let Down by a Detail
Take care how you install this. The 1/4" push fit coupler is provided without the locking clip which prevents accidental disengagement. If the locking ring is accidentally depressed while the fitting is under pressure, the 1/4" pipe may be ejected by the water pressure. Mine is in a sheltered location at the back of a cupboard but I really wouldn't want it to disconnect should it be jostled by the other contents of the cupboard. Lost a star due to this detail.

Easy to screw onto the fitting but make sure that the pipe to the fridge is well seated or a good soaking may follow!

These are 1/4" ID not 1/4" outer diameter
fittings work fine, note that these are for 3/8" outer diameter/ 1/4" inner diameter tube fittings, not 1/4" outer diameter.
