I have a sprocker puppy and guessed at a medium (he will be 11 weeks old when he needs it) have I brought too big?

The small fits our Norfolk Terriers. I think medium is the correct size for your Sprocker when fully grown. May be too big whilst growing.  BTW this is the best and most comfortable  harness we have used.  We have tried numerous as we are dog walkers. Black looks best on the dogs.

Question 2

I have a two month old toy yorkshire terrier puppy (1kg) would XS be suitable?

I have a fully grown toy poodle and she has the small size.  I would have had extra small if I could have squeezed her head through as there is no adjustment there.  However, I would have thought, for your puppy the extra small would be okay as you can adjust the size of the body quite easily and I wouldn't think his/her head would be that big yet.  I did try the extra small when she was smaller but the head going through was an issue.  I guess it is trial and error really, unless you can find someone with a yorkshire terrier who can give you a better answer.  Sorry and good luck.

I would think that the small size would be perfect. I have a number of these harnesses and started my Springer spaniel on the medium size. His is 1 year old now and the large fits him fine. You can also wash these items.

Where do I measure my dog to find the correct size

The neck opening circumference on the MEDIUM harness is 16.25 inches.  The Small was definitely a struggle to get over my dog's head.  Medium goes over comfortably and is not adjustable - fixed size.  The centre strap that goes around the middle adjusts from 18inch to 23.5 inches (approx).  The straight section that joins the neck loop to the body loop is approx. 8.5inches long.
