I remember back when all glasses straps were basically of this type, shoelace material with a sturdy bead. Now they are all terrible. Instead of a bead that actually holds in place securely, there is a 3D printed rectangular thing that doesn't hold, rendering the whole thing useless. I wish I didn't have to pay ten dollars for something I used to be able to get for three at any gas station. But it's just one more sign of the slow decline and collapse of civilization I suppose.

These things are great... I lose them on the regular, but that's the only down side and that's on me, usually when I wash them. They've kept my glasses on my head whitewater kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, running and mountain biking... I'd take them surfing too, but I suck to badly at surfing still and the ocean is a mighty force. They're super dorky looking I guess, at least that's what my significant other tells me, but she can be super shallow at times. Customer for life right here.

Chums has been in the eye wear business for at least 30 years, there is a reason they've been around for so long. These eyewear retainers are soft to the touch and after a while you have no idea they are even there. These are well constructed and last for years. I currently have chums on a couple sets of Oakley's and one set of Costa Del Mars. If you spend any time around water like me, one set of chums can save you from losing your expensive glasses into a lake or river. They are well worth the price!

Chums original eye glass retainer straps are my favorite. I've worn them for years. Whenever one finally wears out or I get a new pair of sunglasses, a new set of Chums is ordered immediately. Extremely comfortable and I've never had one fail, although they do get rough looking after a year or two. But that's not because the product is deficient. Its because they get worn every day and every place.
