I didn't realize that this calamine lotion came with zinc oxide. That was unexpected, but I actually think this added ingredient was helpful. This calamine lotion did help to control my child's eczema. We were trying to control a bad flareup and provide some itch relief. This lotion did help. And the zinc oxide probably helped to dry out the oozing. After applying the calamine lotion at night we would follow up later in the morning with a moisturizer. If folks are familiar with how a bad eczema flareup can be, they understand the need to try everything to find something that works. I would recommend giving this a try to see if it is helpful for your eczema situation.

I had an allergic reaction under my armpits and like anyone freaked out and immediately went to City MD Urgent Care. They tried to tell me it was the heat and gave me Prednisone 20MG and Doxycycline Monohydrate 50MG. I worked construction for 13 years in some of the hottest record breaking days in NYC and let me tell you I never had this reaction! After the steroids they gave me did nothing, I did a Google Search on Web MD. It asked me why I thought I had this reaction and I told them and it recommended CALAMINE LOTION! At first I actually felt even more itchy after putting it on, but after a few days of usage, MY ALLERGIC REACTION/RASH IS COMPLETELY GONE!! WebMD.com did a much better diagnosis than CityMD. Seems to work like I wanted. I just started using it. A little on the runny side, but I think most calamine lotions are runny.

First, this comes with no seals, so my immediate thought was “is this used”? Then it is very watery when I tried to apply it on my skin. However, and Miraculously, this lotion is very affective, it really stopped my itchiness after trying other brands of calamine lotion. Wish it had a safety seal just to have a better piece of mind.

I frequently used to get skin rashes when out in the sun and around the greenery (Trees, grass etc). Time to time the rashes would be so bad that I had to frequently visit to the doctor due to excessive itching and burning sensation. Ever since I found this product my life has changed for good. No more time spending making & visiting for doctor appointments and spending money. I just apply this product to the affect area and it provides extreme relief from itching and burning. I reapply it to the irritated skin if I need it again. Works great and is very inexpensive. Haven't visited the doctor for this issue for the past several years. One bottle lasts for several months and sometimes has lasted for a year. Very small quantity is needed and it spreads well to cover the affected area.
