These are excellent for bookmarks without any damage to your pages.
These are excellent bookmarks and do not cause any damage to the pages or book at all. Very handy and easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. I will purchase these again and gift them to my favorite readers.

Elegant, Functional Solution to an Age-old Problem
I was at a conference where the hosts placed tins of these on tables where we worked through a workbook. These are such a delightful, simple solution to an age-old problem of lightly marking pages I want to revisit. I've found many other uses: marking locations for emphasis on speaker notes (when I don't use my iPad!); pages I want to refer to as I read a book (like end notes!); holding smaller sheets on a pageโand without bending the page as do paper clips! I keep a tin of these in my office at home.

These are fantastic!
These are thinner than I expected but sturdier than I had hoped. I love them and they work very well! Sometimes, when you get tiny bookmarks, you have to work to find them but not so with these! Even though they are very small, they are easy to find to open to the right page. As fragile as the pages of a Bible are, which is very hard for me to comprehend just why, these bookmarks stay in place as if the pages are thicker but they do not damage the page. I have been increasingly rough when removing them, trying to reach the point where the metal clips would damage the page. I have not found the point where they will fail, and I donโt think they will. Now I have been rough enough with the pages to risk tearing them and the bookmarks have not failed. But I never treat a book this roughly and I have decided that the bookmarks are not going to fail but I am going to tear the pages if I donโt cut it out. One last comment: you get quite a few bookmarks in the tin and as much as I love them, my daughter would love them even more. She loves the smell and the feel of a book and prefers a book over an ebook. I am happy either way and love not having to lug around several books when I travel. She will carry the extra weight. I handed her a generous pinch of these bookmarks and it was more than she actually needs but I still have more than enough then I need. I am very happy with these and I wonโt use any other kind from now on.

Essential to my reading life
I adore these book darts. Prior to discovering book darts I would regularly stick post-it notes between pages or pause while reading to jot down quotes or page numbers to return to. Others may dog-ear pages and hate the crease it leaves. Book darts changed my reading life. Reasons I love them: 1) they slip on and off of a page so easily (the trick in removing them is to pull up slightly on the back of the dart and it will slide right off). 2) they are super-thin (never add any bulk to the book like a paperclip would). 3) they leave no mark or crease on the page whatsoever. 4) unlike post-it's you can point directly to the line you're interested in returning to. 5) the size of these are such that the text on the pages (front & back) aren't covered up at all in standard print books. 6) they're reusable. one tin of 125 is all you're likely to need in your life, assuming you don't leave them in books permanently (which you could do too). 7) The tin and book darts themselves are adorable, with a vintage feel and are very high quality. I could probably keep going and come up with a full list of 10 reasons of love these but I'll stop. I highly recommend!

Wonderful! Very highly recommended
These are wonderful! They are flat, small, can't get knocked out of the book, and there are enough of them that if I lose a few, it doesn't matter as much. They are tight at first as someone else mentioned, but it's not too bad. They are so thin that I had a hard time getting a photo of one along the edge of a page, so I apologize for it's blurriness. But you can see that it's barely thicker than the page. These won't leave marks on your pages like a paper clip or press on the other pages like the magnetic ones. They have nothing that sticks up and can get caught on something and get pulled out of the book. No worries about losing these, unless I forget to remove one before taking them to the library. They are so thin, I might be less likely to not notice it before dropping it in a book slot as the thicker magnetic ones, but they are cheap enough that I won't matter so much. I am keeping a pile of these where in the places I read the most often. The shiny surface does take finger prints, but I don't see this as a problem as it really isn't too noticeable, and like the surface enough that I wouldn't want them to change it. I also love the tin it came in and leave it out as a decoration in my office. Very nice. Edited: It's now been 5 years since I bought a couple tins of these and I still use them all the time. I'm actually buying another tin of them because I was right about forgetting them in books when I return them to the library. I've lost most of them that way now. You would think I would have learned by now, but apparently not. I've even seen books in the library that I returned a while ago with this darn book dart still in it! I guess that's what I get for not finishing the book. lol Very worthwhile purchase! I still highly recommend them. I even keep a few in the car now too.

Great product, AWFUL tin.
After using these for a few months I have 2 things of note: 1. I absolutely love these darts. I use them primarily when reading Non-fiction to mark places I want to come back to or look up later. I'll put 5-10 on the last page to have on hand wherever I'm reading so I don't have to have the whole tin with me. Really a superb product that I wish I would have found years ago. 2. The can is an absolute nightmare and needs to be replaced. I was hesitant on buying these solely for this issue alone based on other's reviews. I was able to initially open the can when I got it but about the 3rd opening it just wouldn't open again. I was always really careful when taking the lid off and on but clearly this is just too common of an issue. My husband couldn't get it open either. We could spin the lid so it wasn't wedged or anything. Eventually I took pliers and a screwdriver to get into it. Even after bending the bottom into the can the lid still wouldn't come off. I had to shake out the darts and put them in a different tin. Such a shame because the tin design is really wonderful. Overall, I would 100% recommend this to anyone and definitely buy as gifts later on, but I would buy my own tins to put them in before giving as a gift.

A great alternative to bookmarks
These are a great way to mark your exact place in a book without damaging your pages. I like to leave the book dart on the page, continue reading, and then move the book dart to my new place when I'm finished, which is a nice little way to note how much you've read in one sitting. The best part is that a tin of 125 book darts means that now I can read 125 books simultaneously. Obviously that's a lot, but my point is that now you don't have to limit yourself to the number of books you can start reading by the number of bookmarks you have, or (worse yet) your memory of where you left off. You may feel timid at first putting one of these in your book. Unless you're dealing with very thin paper (like a bible), you will not do any damage. My recommendation is to slide it in as far as you're comfortable, close the book, and then gently tap it the rest of the way in. Pulling them out is also easy thanks to the little lip on the back. My only minor complaint is that other reviewers mentioned how beautiful the tin was, but the one I got is just a standard tin with a sticker on it. Maybe some of you are getting painted tins or whatever. Still a great product, just don't get it if the decorative tin is your only reason.

Good for more than normal books
I did a charcoal and graphite drawing in my sketchbook and one of my fountain pen inks also transfers to the next page when a neighboring page is drawn on hard. I've been keeping a loose folded piece of tracing paper around this page to protect it from rubbing on the neighboring page but that would shift. I tried paperclips but those are thick and make a bulge. These work perfectly and are super thin.
