Wow - what a difference!
Got these for our 13 and a half year old Weimaraner who has arthritis in his back legs. He's only used it twice but wow what a difference it's made to him and how he is when we get back home after a walk. No matter how short a walk, he would be completely worn out and struggle to get up after sitting/lying down at home. After his walk in his new wheels, it's as though he'd not been out, still completely mobile when we got home. He took to them like a duck to water and although had a couple of mishaps, we soon had him up and on his way again. They were simple to put together being partly constructed upon arrival and there is an extremely good video available if you do get a little stuck. They are really well made yet lightweight. Cannot recommend these highly enough. It's made such a huge difference to Blue's life in such a short period of time, can't wait to see how he is once he's even more confident with them!

It's not easy to assemble but a video can be found on ...
This trolley had gave my 13 yr old 45k GSD a new lease of life. It's not easy to assemble but a video can be found on you tube.I reccommend fitting the straps to the dog first then offering up the cart.stay with your dog close as the cart can tipple over,my GSD has arthititis and using this cart he jogged for the first time in years when he saw a squirell!! the dog can wee but I'm not sure he could poo standing up so I use hand held straps which my partner made then put him in the cart for a roam round.I once said I would never put my dog in one of these but I'm so glad I have. My GSD was on rimadyl and steroids for a time but they didn't work on him, he now takes tramadol,rhus-tox,1200mg glucosamine/chrondroitin/msm tablets and omega 3.He amazes me everyday as our vet wrote him off months ago.The cart is good for dogs with all back leg conditions even if they are lame as the back legs can be placed into soft straps.I LOVE THIS!! I don't normally leave reviews

Great little walker
I made some modifications to the walker in that I fitted clips to the harness that could easily be attached to the walker . This made the operation of putting our dog in the walker much easier. He now loves it .and so do I..

Whoever designed the assembly instructions should be fired.
I bought this for my dog who's hind legs have completely given out, hoping this would give him another couple of weeks of life. Or at least allow him to go to his death with some dignity (It was an Alaskan Malamute) He did not accept the wheelchair and so he met his fate on the same day as it arrived. I do not fault the product for this. What I do fault the product for is quality of some materials and the instruction manual. The latter of which was created by an utter imbecile. Instructions for assembly were convoluted, with the initial steps for the back frame being in the wrong order. As it tells you to first mount the more narrow frame, after which you struggle to mount the second wider frame. This brings up the second point. Some materials, mainly the included wrench and nuts & bolts. The wrench damaged the nuts and became unusable as it couldn't get a grip. And after unscrewing one of the screws due to the aforementioned frame problem it lost thread so I couldn't place the nut back on it. Going back to instructions, the worst part was the harness mounting. The pictures on the instruction are close up and at weird angles. And considering you will be placing your (probably) very ill pet on top, it doesn't give you any faith, you're almost scared to do it because you're not sure if the harness is mounted on correctly. Disgraceful. And lastly, the pictures are black & white. That wouldn't be weird if not for the fact that there are a couple of pictures that do have colour AND THE WHOLE BOOK HAS A FRAME SURROUND IN COLOUR. Besides, the unit is not that big, why not ship it assembled with the user just needing to attach the wheels. I don't think anyone who gets this is in a mental state where they will be happy to follow along the terrible instructions like they are building a LEGO set.

POORLY CONSTRUCTED; GREAT CONCEPT!
Although the product does the job somewhat, with a bit of adjustment to the poorly constructed Kart, be prepared to modify various things. The velcro strap in the middle of the two rear leg loops, keeping them together, just simply comes apart and some duct tape fixed that. The front bars holding the harness has a looped section keeping the harness from moving up and down the whole length of the metal - these get loose and the dog ends up on it's rear end so make sure the top harness is secured between the two plastic rings keeping it in place. If the dogs topples over in the Kart, the metal stabilisers simply bend. Can be positioned back again but will weaken it all eventually and will probably snap. Make sure all bolts and screws are secure as the whole thing feels a bit loose. It's a shame because a great idea is poorly manufactured and definitely not worth ยฃ154. I did look at the reviews for others, but thought as it was more expensive, it would be made of stronger components. It has given my dog a bit of mobility though, so mixed feelings really. You decide!

This is a well-made, sturdy but light device. The instructions could have been a bit clearer. It was the right size for our Lab/GSD mix (Large wheelchair); you just have to adjust while assembling to fit your exact dog. Took a while for the dog to get the hang of it, but was great to see him supported and moving again. Honestly wish weโd bought it as soon as he started losing mobility from his arthritis/hip dysplasia.

Sturdy but wheels could have more tread. Nuts lose tightness often and constantly need adjusting.light weight

I have had the dog wheelchair for about 2 months now. I wanted to wait until my dog had been using it for a while before I gave a review. I do agree with the other reviews when it comes to this product. The quality is poor for the price, the directions are awful, riddled with typos, as is the website, and I could find no video on their site or on line for their product on the best way to get my dog in and out of it. That being said, my dog loves it. Out of box it had issues, the directions are not clear and when I got it out, put together and my dog into it, she fell through it. Everything was tight, but I found that I needed a spacer for one of the screws that just was not long enough to hold the leg straps in place, once she was in it. Not a fun experience for me or her. I placed a call to customer service at 6pm Arizona time, they called me the next day and emailed. I will say their customer service was very, very good and helpful. They responded right away, via phone and email, even though I had solved the issue on my own. Excellent customer service. As for the product: I recommend flipping the harness part over so it is upside down from how it is described to be placed. I found having the clip on the harness with the red strap, going up and connecting over the shoulder, of my dog, far easier to get her in and out of the wheelchair. I have 55 lb dog, this was not easy for her to get use to, having her feet up and in the stirrups, had her going backwards, which was fixed by getting a pair of booties for the back feet and letting the back legs hang for a while until she is more comfortable. I have since put one of the back legs in the stirrup and she is fine with it. If your dog's back feet are not going to be in the stirrups and will drag on the ground, get a pair of booties to protect the feet. We did her first couple of outings in the backyard and within a week, she was off on her own, no parent required, even at the dog park. The booties will fall off, so always supervise your dog when she is in the wheelchair, so you can find the booties. She is not in it all the time, just when we are out and about, once in the am and once in the pm, not more then 60-90 minutes each time. We worked up to this time. Start slow, maybe 15 minutes each outing for a few days and so on, it is not comfortable and will take time for certain muscles to get use to being in the new position. She may need some treat encouragement the first few times too. Thankfully her front legs are strong and help her get around in the house, but this wheelchair has made going to the dog park with my other dogs fun for her again. Give your dog time, smaller dogs will take to it far easier then larger dogs because they have a lower sense of gravity. She has been knocked over twice, once when a dog ran into her and once by a dog that did not like the chair. Do not leave your dog unsupervised as she will need your help to get the chair back up, if she falls over in it. Always bring the spare parts and tools with you, as just the movement can loosen the screws, but other than that, it is light weight, fits in my trunk, even though it does not collapse, easy to clean and she has learned how to go potty without getting any on herself. She can actually trot quite well in it too. It has given her back her mobility and we are all very happy about that. I would definitely recommend it. **UPDATE** After three months, of twice daily use one of the hollow side rails, which bend very easily, broke...not fixable at all, so I took the other side rail, that had not broken, to Home Depot and told the very helpful person I needed to replace the part. I now have two solid side rails and larger parts that hold the straps in place for less than $20 and she is off again. I had to make the siderails myself, but well worth it to see her moving right along again. **UPDATE** 05/29/2014: After 9 months: both sides rails replaced, one tire replaced, the leg harness broke on one side so replaced with wiring through the nyropene, the connecting component for the wheel and the cart itself, finally fell apart and could not be fixed. Thanks HD for assisting with finding suitable replacement parts. If your dog is around the 60lb mark and will treat the cart gently, I would recommend the 40-60lb cart. My dog off roads every chance she gets so we had to go with a different cart manufacturer.

I don't know where else to put this, emails either get returned no address, or are no reply emails. I am missing a screw. Can't put wheel chair together. I'm happy for this review to be deleted once I receive the screw. Thankyou

There were many different varities as I search the internet and this looked like the best fit for my dog and the prices was right. The product is well made, very sturdy and was easy to assemble. The tip book was very helpful. When I first places it on Bueller, he started backing up and this made my husband worry. I looked inside the phamplet included and sure enough, he was acting normally and his 'backing up' was his way of backing out. In a short period of time he adapted and hopefully be using it less and less as he is gaining strenght of his back legs. I plan to donating to the local veterinary hospital once he no longer needs it.
