Beautifully Made, Well-Engineered, But Is It Good Value?
Have no doubt about it, this product is the best of its kind. It is an example of excellent design and engineering. It is extremely easy to use and the Peak Design plate slips beautifully into the clip, making it 100% secure. The tolerances in its construction also make it simple to lock/unlock and withdraw one's camera from the clip. Other makers have similar products that sometimes stick a little when one tries to access the camera and the shot can be missed because of that, but it doesn't happen with Peak Design's Capture Clip. The big question though is whether this clip is worth five or six times the prices of some of the copycat items available to buy on the web? I have owned some of them, and they do work. However, they don't work with the same sort of precision and ease as the Peak Design version. If you have spent £2-3K on a camera and lens, you no doubt appreciate the best of design and construction. Therefore, you will probably remember the quality of this product long after you have forgotten how much you had to pay for it.

Stunning!
Although expensive, this is easily the best piece of camera equipment I have bought. It honestly makes such a difference just having the camera to hand at all times. Before the capture clip, I walked past tonnes of photos that I wasn't sure of which is laziness on my part. I don't walk past photos now because it's so easy to whip the camera out of the clip and start framing within seconds. Yes it's expensive, but the value of having the convenience outweighs the cost, so much so I bought a second one to put of my day bag for when our with the family. I've also used this with my XT3 and the 100-400 lens and still found this comfortable, and easy to use... No brainer!!!

Shimodo Action X50 + Panasonic S1H + PeakDesign Dual Plate + Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W -> Sorted :-)
I bought this to help with treks with my Shimodo backpack. The S1H is a heavy camera so slinging it round ones neck or using a wrist strap not ideal. When the camera is out of the bag I wanted quick access whilst efficiently carrying it. The Shimdo shoulder straps have a lot of attachments loops ad fixings, so that was the first choice in terms of position. This is something i need to experiment with in the field. The Capture easily mounts and I didn't have to swap bolts to the longer versions. I bought the Capture without a plate and bought instead the PD "Dial Plate" for both Manfrotto RC2 fittings and ARCA. I have a Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W so the RC2 plate was needed. I tested the plate first in the Manfrotto head. I noticed that it will go in one of two ways, but only one way is the right way. When it's mounted incorrectly, the plate is not secure. The original plate that comes with the head can only be mounted one way. So, when the PD Dual Plate is mounted correctly (it has a lens direction arrow underneath), it's as solid as a rock. It's well and truly locked. Have no problem trusting my S1H using the PD Dual Plate. Once that was confirmed I then mounted it on and off of the PD Capture Clip.. Worked everytime.. and felt very secure. Need to do a field test, on a trek.. but don't anticipate any issues.

A tad expensive for what it is
Great idea - one that's been copied now (at a much lower quality I'm told) for about 1/5th the price. Still, peak design's capture clip is obviously a superior product. Expensive, but you can feel the CNC'd, powder-coated quality of this thoughtfully designed accessory. It's changed the way I shoot, and is probably the best accessory I've bought for the camera. The only thing that gives me pause is the unjustified price. IMHO a fair price would be about 1/3 less than it sells for now. Oh well, while it doesn't have competition (at the same class of quality that is) for this ultra niche product, you will probably buy this too. I do recommend it, and am happy with it, but you'll always feel like you spent a bit too much

Superb design, excellent function.
This is a beautifully executed bit of design and function. I’d seen previous versions of these clips and while they seemed functional they were a bit clunky, too big, too sticky outy and a bit too noticeable. Peak did some serious work on this version and it’s now sleek, small and discrete and just works really well. I also like the slim and light arcs Swiss compatible camera plates and the new Pro Pad really adds to the carryability of heavier gear. Is there any downside. Well, it’s a little pricy but the quality stands out.

Game changer if you use a back pack.
Taking a back pack off to get to your gear can be a pain. Even if you have a back pack designed to be accessed without taking it completely off (like my mind shift back pack). On a backpack works best with smaller (mirrorless) cameras/lenses. Pretty good with DSLRS (e.g. Nikon D800/D850) and prime lenses. For DSLR with zoom lenses (16-35, 24-120, 70-300) its OK but starting to get awkward due to the tendency of the kit to be lens heavy and get in the way due to bulk, its better to use the pro-pad and belt mount the camera instead. I have two of these mounts and usually have one with a camera and a second with the lens kit to make lens change easier whilst hiking.

Génial, soulage et libère le bras
J’utilise le Peak Design Club Courroie de poignée. Celui-ci me donne toute satisfaction sur mon Nikon.

CAREFUL, the clip came off bag!!
It is quite a handy accessory to have. It works as advertised and holds the camera tightly. All is good, except one day while I was walking around town, the clip just came off camera. It was unbelievable, coz not just the clip came off bag, rather the screw was completely out. I had tightened the clip as much as physically possible, but it just came lose. Since then I have noticed that it keeps on getting lose with time, and I'm always cautious about my camera. I installed it again on my Lowepro350 shoulder strap, however have to tighten it regularly.

Just works. Updated clip much more sleek.
This is an update to the original capture clip that I've been using for years. Smaller, lighter and more sleek, but seems just as well made. I mostly use it on the strap of my camera 'bag of primes'. It makes lens changes easier and much more secure.

Genialne!
Używam go już ponad rok, jestem zadowolona z zakupu. Aparat na zapięciu trzyma się solidnie i nie zjeżdża, nie ma luzów, nic nie skrzypi, wszystko trzyma jak przymurowane do mnie, dużo łatwiej w ten sposób nosić mi aparat.
