Swings Both Ways

Its Robbie...What else would he get other than 5 stars. This is his SECOND Swing Album. Its called "swing Both Ways" and at one time would camp it up on TV it could be mis-construed that he MAY swing both ways!!!Even the disc was in PINK. he has had 14 ALbums and ALL 14 of em have been No1 that is no mean feat!!! This is class.Its been 10 years since his first swing album and this BRILL. It contains his hit single " Go gentle" written about his little baby daughter Teddy. Telling her to' go gentle' with her life especially boys! Also it duests with other top peeps/ Michael Buble Olly Murrs and Lily who he sings " Dream a Little Dream" as the new single. HOW can this man who will be 40 on Feb 13th do any wrong.hes good looking a great singer, a good dad and a happily married man AND he knows how to work his magic with his audienced........Its a greeat album if you are a Robbie fan BUY IT. If you are not you are missing out. Love you Robbie........ x

While Robbie's career has taken him from a member of a "boy band" to a genuine superstar, he shows us that he has not forgotten the greats that preceded him. This album contains an assortment of hits which might have been forgotten by the younger generations. He covers them with flair, excellence, and respect. From Tennessee Ernie Ford to The Jungle Book to The Wizard of Oz, this album has a tastefully-covered song for anyone. The original tracks on this album have Robbie's usual rebellious nature, but are well connected to the covers.Overall, this album has brought joy and swing to my home. I'd highly recommend it to anyone whose dancing legs need a little kick to swing.

It is true this release is less swing and possesses more of a Robbie ring. Also the quality of this second swing album is not as high nor as engaging as the last. I have however given it five stars for three reasons. Firstly there are a couple of really beautiful tracks on here with lovely melodies and heart rending lyrics, neither of which are being released as singles. Secondly if you buy a Robbie Williams album after all this time you have a pretty good idea of what to expect and in this sense it doesn't disappoint at all. Thirdly, if you take a look at the one star reviews you'll note only two are written with any form of balance by individuals who have enjoyed his previous work. The rest are written by the `marmite' crowd of Robbie haters who typically used words such as `crap', `gash,' and `pap.' It gives one cause to wonder several things. Firstly, why buy the album in the first place if they expect to be so thoroughly disappointed? Two, for individuals who so often claim that anyone who appreciates what Mr Williams does must need their heads examined, their ability to critique in any insightful way that demonstrates an understanding of music is sadly lacking. Indeed the final one star review is from a gentleman that seems to think he's heard this album in French and complains purely for the reason that he can't understand it because he doesn't speak French. What?!!! No I don't get it either. So my third reason for giving five stars is to balance out some of the partially literate crappy gash pap that some have deigned to be a useful review. There is little evidence to suggest most of them even listened to the album, lest much bought it. If you like Robbie, you'll enjoy this.

I Really like this new project from RWAs for the CD, no problems, I was hoping the DVD might have all complete songs,it does illustrate the guest singers involvement and the chemistry between RW and his contributing artistsThe fun that was had recording the music comes over wellAt the current low price of below £12,with autorip included for mp3 it seems very good value.The quality of this recording is very high on CD and it seems clear RW has not lost his any of his vocal range and is very capable as a singer of many different styles of music,and despite certain well publicised personal"issues" whether true or not- one would usually expect that to have an effect on his performance-I honestly can't notice anything other than an extremely good singer and seemingly happy performer.In some ways I'm surprised he hasn't looked into being in films - perhaps this is to come later in his career?

Excellent Album-not really into todays artists doing Swing versions but my Wife does and she loved it.Came with offer and code for priority pre sale tickets for Robbies new Swing tour. I took advantage of this and got really good seats for wife and her face when she opened the tickets for birthday was a picture and worth it.Good thing was the tickets are actually in our possesion for concert in July already-didnt have to wait on tenterhooks till approx week before concert to receive them as with other Ticket outlets or print them off yourself- which if like me you dont use home printer too much-means cartridges have dried out and have to buy new ones just to print tickets-more cost-Amazon should do Concert Ticket offers more often.I have to say booking the tickets was a lot easier than the likes of Ticketmaster too.Good experience

As always Robbie does it! He's such a cheeky chappy & it's so great to hear him singing with all these other talented artists! I saw him being interviewed on TV recently & he explained the single he released from this album was written for his daughter Teddy, listening to them closely made me smile a sad but sweet smile, as his words are of protection for his daughter throughout her life & being there for her always. My sadness listening to those amusing but meaningful words, is that my husband & my two daughters father was taken from us too young to action those promises during their young adult lives. Thank you Robbie, you are an entertainer who is still grounded & thankful following in the entertainers shoes of the FABULOUS Freddie Mercury. You truly are a star.
