ECU Capacitor Kit for 1991-1995 Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee

When I turned the ignition on the relays under the hood would chatter and the dash lights would flash or work intermittently. The jeep would start sometimes or would run like crap or would not start at all. This is an easy repair but I was nervous never having worked on a circuit board. I watched a few videos, ordered an all inclusive soldering kit and a magnifying glass on a stand, some electrical safe silicone and got to work. About an hour involved and my Jeep runs great. Fires up every time and idles much better than before. This kit is for different vehicles so I had one extra capacitor and the three capacitors that I used were slightly smaller but had same parameters. Very happy with the product

THANK YOU!!! This was a MF to diagnose, random stall, random no start, long start; Until winter hit in Texas. Multiple days of extreme temp swings lead me to research thermal failures. 1992 Cherokee had a thermal failure below appx 65 Degrees F, would not start. New: Battery, IAC, CPS, Relays, starter switch in steering column, Coil, wires, cap, rotor, plugs, starter etc.... Refreshed all grounds. This was not a parts cannon, I replaced parts as a rebuild, just stating all obvious items that had been replaced and passed all test. If left in garage above 65f, no problems. Had it not been for the extreme temp swings, I would still be troubleshooting. If you have PCB soldering skills, this is an easy 30 min job.

Nice little kit to fix your PCM, in my case a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. I was pretty sure the PCM was the issue with my “no start” condition. Code 54 was pointing me to the Cam shaft sensor signal missing. Replaced the sensor, checked voltage and ground, both good, but Jeep still would not start with new sensor. So replaced the caps with this kit. I have electronics and soldering experience, so was a no brainer. Unfortunately, it didn’t fix my issue (or maybe it did) for after reinstall the PCM, the Jeep still would not start. Back to diagnostics on the CAM signal. What I found was that the wire from the sensor to pin 44 on the PCM was open. Set up a jumper between the two points and the Jeep started right up. So hopefully with the new caps, my PCM will be good to go for a few more years! On a side note, you can get a false code 11 Crankshaft position sensor when troubleshooting. That code can pop up if you crank the engine for less then 10 seconds, because the PCM hasn’t received enough pulses from the crankshaft sensor.

Bought this to rebuild the ECM in my 95 YJ. Parts fit easily and fixed my no start issue (as well as a few other problems I didn’t even know were related) This product saved me hundreds of dollars on a rebuilt computer.
