Duncurin volunteers at our local church to do some weeding, planting. I go up there each week and as the months have rolled by I have taken on new skills such as new fence, guttering, noticeboard building and replacing cracked and unstable flags. Under the weeds were several cast iron downspouts. Slowly Duncurin has smashed these and taken them to the tip. Last week only a couple of pieces remained, one with a large rain collector on top. I nearly smashed this up but was able to lift it into the back of my car intact. Upon arriving at our local tip the chap on the gate asked me if he could take a quick look in my boot. He stepped back in horror - a bit like they do in those Dracula films as the sun fades over the dusty coffin. He told me that this was asbestos and it would need proper disposal. He wanted to make sure that I wasnt just going to dump it. I promised him I would not do this if he told me what to do. Only certain tips can handle asbestos. It has to be double bagged. One has to wear protective clothing, hard hat, goggles, safety shoes, gloves and a high vis jacket or vest. I must confess I was a bit befuddled but I just knew that I would find what I needed on Amazon - and so it was. The safety trousers and shoes were no problem as I have been lucky to review these and also gloves. I purchased this hard hat in white and a hi vis gilet. All came within 24 hrs at a low cost. The lady at the tip asked me when I declared asbestos if i had all the safety gear. She asked me to reverse into the bay just in front of the asbestos skip which has locking doors. I put all my gear on and put the triple bagged item into the skip and sealed the doors. i was on my way within 5 mins. This is the perfect choice of safety item for those like me who don’t really need such a thing for work but only on an occasional basis. It is adjustable. It fits securely and comfortably. It looks good. My wife asked me if I was going to do a rendition of YMCA - but that belongs in another review! For now with a little help from Amazon and superb logistics I was able to dispose of the nasty item in a proper and responsible way.

Constantly banging my head when in the loft. Bought this for a fair price. Choice of colours and good quality. Does the job well but Im not on a building site. Pleased.

Brilliant hard hat. Bought it so i can move around in our low ceiling loft without getting concussion every 5 minutes! Fits well and is decent quality and can report that it does very efficiently protect against knocks and bumps

Difficult to assemble as plastic frame not attached to the helmet. Unable to use. Sturdy and durable.

This safety hat was passed its sell by date. Still protected my head when doing tree some aerial tree work.
