VIVOGROW Bio Pressure Pond Filter, with 13W UV-C Light, 1840 GPH Suitable for Koi Ponds up to 1000 Gallons or Landscape Pools up to 2100 Gallons

I don’t know why all the returns but this little guy is doing a great job on our koi pond. This filter replaced a high end pond max 2400 which cracked after 5 years. Was not going to pay $500+ for a replacement unit so thought I try this one at 20% the cost of a pond max. Cleans the pond just as well. Would buy this again. We use a 2400 gallon/hour pump and does just fine with the filter. And cleans just as easy as the pond max. No complaints!

I have 3 of these filters for my koi pond. They have done wonders for the water quality. One of the newest filters had an issue. The head clamp plastic split and the filter began to leak. I contacted the seller, they promptly addressed he issue and I have a replacement. These filters are easy to install and maintain. I have one that’s 4 years old that I replaced he sponge filters and UV bulb in and even that was easy!

These are great for the price, and I recommend them. The only real complaint I have is the blue valve to switch between drain or return (or at least that’s what I use it for). I’ve had a couple of these units for my ponds and after a year of use and being exposed to the weather the blue knob / valve started to stick..,eventually broke off and had to replace. But I learned a solution, I bought one of those fake rocks (large 25” or so - from Amazon roughly $85) for covering well heads and use that to cover the filter …now it looks better and no more valve issues since not directly exposed to the weather

I dig a pond about 3 years ago and could never keep it clear. I kept saying to myself, why don’t they have a thing like a shop vac that has filters in it!? Well this is essentially that. You need to hook this to a pump. I didn’t know this at first and assumed it was a filter and a pump (oops). Not a problem as I just added it into my waterfall pump’s circuit or piping. I kept it close to the pond to see how it would work before I worked on running tubing and hiding it. My pond cleared up to the point that you can see the bottom (over 4 feet deep) in about 5 days. Unreal. Once I knew it was great I bought long lengths of tubing and hid the unit behind a tree. So far so good.

We have a small, beautiful water garden near our entry. We planned to have the pond be “natural”, balanced with plants and aquatic life, but felt having a small filter and pump would improve the water quality and this unit is perfect. It came very well packed and easily assembled. We had it running in no time. It’s easily hidden. Overnight it clarified the 1,800 gallon pond and the tiny ruby red fish we introduced to the pond clearly enjoy the added oxygen from the surface agitation. The crank filter cleaning system works very effectively - we hooked up a garden hose to the waste side of the filter and water nearby surface plants with the enriched water from the pond. We augmented the filter with a submersible pump that exchanges the pond water every hour. We needed more hose to hide the unit, but this type of flexible tubing is readily available on-line or at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

I would put zero stars but that’s not possible, I bought a 2100 GPH from Amazon resell it arrived would set up noticed a missing parts, but I had some old fitting in my workshop so I made due. Turns out the UV light doesn’t work and the brace around the middle was cracked. A lot of the parts this are made of cheap plastic that I’m sure we’re not last long. I should’ve just bought brand new because it was like four dollars more as I just noticed…. Shop elsewhere.!

The UV bulb is blown. Plumbed the filter in started it up let it run for awhile plugged in the UV light nothing. Stopped the pump removed the UV housing bulb is blown. Disappointed went to reseat the head so at least that part would work, but now no matter how tighten the head up it leaks. The oring has a flat spot and had to wrap teflon tape around the oring to stop the leak. The filter housing itself has a good seal and the back flush valve works well enough. I bought this filter for the uv light though. So I'll have to buy a replacement bulb or a replacement hose since I had to cut mine to plumb the filter in. I was very excited about the filter, but definitely fell short of my expectations.

We have a 6’x 9’ pond with ~12 fish. The water was very hard to keep clear, especially in warmer weather. We tried all kinds of clarifiers and enzymes with little help. After installing this filter, which is fed by a 600gph pump, it cleared the water within a few days. There was no noticeable drop in water rate to the waterfall after the filter. One thing that is not advertised is that there is a compartment in the bottom of the filter full of bio-balls, so this is both a mechanical and biological filter. It seems well made, and was easy to install. I buried most of it into the ground to keep it out of sight. Very happy.
