Fixed my double float issue that kept failing
I switched to this style after having many of my type that came with the house fail. I had the green egg shaped ones with the teacher weight on the wire. I have a 230v pump with dual or double float set up ( both up = ON, both down=OFF ) the upper ( on ) switch would stop working within a few months to a year. It drove me nuts why they wouldn't last so I switched to these sludge boss type and they have been working great. I'll update my post in a yr or so to follow up on how they are still doing but so far...... they are great and have fixed my issue.

Don't waste your money on a cheap float switch.
I replaced 2 grinding pump float switches about 3 years ago. My original float switches lasted approximately 20 years. I had to replace both float switches again recently due to 1 of the newer float switches failing. This time I replaced both float switches with the Sludge Boss float switches due to there obvious better quality build. I like that I did not need to install a weight because the Sludge Boss float switch has the weight built inside the float. I didn't mind paying twice as much as other float switches because it's a very unpleasant job to do. The Sludge Boss floats are working great and I hope it's a very very long time before I need to deal with that horrible job again.

Commercial duty float switch.
Built to outlast whatever you're connection it to! Versatile 3 wire connection for turning on something when the liquid gets high or or turning on something when the liquid gets low.

Heavy duty
Replaced failed float switch installed by septic contractor commonly found in big box stores. Quality product and obviously far more durable than what was previously installed.

Three wires for filling or emptying. Your choice.
Item is as described. It came with wiring instructions for “filling tank” (normally closed), and “empty tank” (normally open). Float was put into place and operated just like advertised. Very happy with the product.

failed after 8 months because internal switch is only 10A
I bought this float because it was supposed to be "heavy duty" and I needed it to switch a 1/2 HP pump. Well it looks heavy duty, but looks are deceiving. The description stated that it could handle 13AMPs. Well after it failed In the ON position, my $1250 pump was nearly ruined because it was running for who knows how long. Luckly, I heard it cavitating and was able to shut it off at the breaker panel. After removing the float I decided to determine why it failed in such a short time period. The answer is that the internal switch used appears to be rated for ONLY 10A!(see photo) Its no wonder it fused internally to the ON position. Buyer should be also aware that the float is mearly a repackaging of another piggy back float switch, and the outter red plastic container is NOT WATER PROOF It was filled with water. This may throw off the float on/off levels you established when installing because the filled red bulb is heavier when filled with water. The red bulb also has an extra weight and styrofoam in it as well, so the styrofoam indicates to me that the design did not expect to be water proof. In conclusion, don't use this for 1/2HP pumps, it may be good enoguh for 10A at most.

Nice!
Nice! A heavy duty float switch at a competitive price. Better than Alderon float switches.
