I really like this dehumidifier and I tried two others! It works really well. It is nice looking. I use it in a small bathroom and it is tall and narrow. Very easy to use. It is not loud but I am sensitive to noise and I turn it off at night due to the sound. It is easy to clean and to empty out the collected water.

I’ve been using the Vellgoo 3,200 Sq.Ft Energy Star dehumidifier for about three months, and it has exceeded my expectations. The unit is very well built and feels solid. It runs quietly in the background, so it never becomes a distraction. I have it set up with a hose and direct drain, which makes it completely maintenance-free—no emptying water buckets or fussing with settings. UPDATE: 12/29/25 I’ve had it for 1 3/4 years now. It’s still working like a champ!!! it doesn’t get emptied as often as it should because I would have to breach my tenant’s space to get to it. So sometimes it sits for a long time with water in it. But as soon as I empty it and restart it, it starts right up and does its job. I’m so glad I bought this little unit! It has been a great purchase for me. This Velgoo dehumidifier has been working perfectly for nearly a year. I empty the tank every few days. It is ususally full. It is located in an unfinished portion of a basement used for storage, with a dirt floor, covered by a carpet remnant. Yes...that is carpet over dirt! You can imagine the moisture. But the Velgoo has kept it dry. The musty smell that used to permeate the area is gone. The unit has functioned perfectly with no problems at all. I clean the tank every few weeks. It is easy to do. The unit turns off when the tank is full and waits patiently for me to empty it so it can resume its work of removing the moisture from the air. The readout allows me to set the moisture level and tells me what it is at any given time. I absolutely love this dehumidifier and would happily recommend it to anyone who needs a continuous or intermittent dehumidifier. It seems to be a workhorse. A HUGE PLUS is the genuine interest the company has in my satisfaction. They reached out to me just to check up and make certain I was happy with my purchase and that the unit was functioning properly. Who does that? Contact me before I contact them? Velgoo does! Now that's customer care!

Updated 07/20/25 - After several email exchanges with Anna from customer service, we have reached a mutual agreement on a favorable resolution for the broken unit. As frustrating as it was to have the unit fail, Anna was very responsive. Ultimately, she agreed that the unit failed while under warranty and she was willing to make it right. I am highly satisfied with the outcome and I urge anyone who is having an issue while their unit is still under warranty to contact Vellgoo and work with them to your satisfaction. NOTE -> I had initially lowered my five star rating to one star when the unit failed, but after going through the warranty process and experiencing a good outcome I have raised my rating to four stars. I personally don't feel that I should leave my review at one star because they did work with me to my satisfaction. Even though the unit failed, when it worked it did a great job, as previously detailed below in my original five star review. After all is said and done, Vellgoo customer service/Anna came through for me and that is notable, so I want to be fair to them. ----- Updated 7/18/25 - I reached out to Vellgoo for assistance in resolving my issue. They responded and asked for pictures of what we believe is a refrigerant leak and the temperature of my home (we have central air) and any code we saw on the panel and an image of the product code on the case. I sent them all the information and I am waiting to hear back from them. I will post an update either way. ----- Updated 7/16/25 - less than one year after purchase this unit stopped working yesterday. It's no longer pulling out any water and the water tank just sits there empty while the unit continues to run. It was only used for about three months in total and it's still under the one-year warranty. We just had to purchase a new one today from a different mfg because the house humidity is so high. 😕 I'm planning to contact Vellgoo customer support. ----- Original review 8/24/24: This unit is a different manufacturer and twice the size of our last one. We bought it because our previous one iced up and stopped working. This is much quieter and it is doing a great job of pulling the humidity out of all three floors of our house. We have it on our middle floor level where it is generally the most humid. It's in a completely open space. When we turned it on it registered 68% humidity and after a week of use all three floors in our house are at between 42-46%. It's pretty versatile and fits easily in any room in our open floor plan. We don't try to hide it from plain sight because our personal comfort is more important than aesthetics. It doesn't send a lot of heat into the room like our old one did and it's not competing with our central air. It was also super easy to set up. We waited 24 hours like the email instructions advised and then simply plugged it in and turned it on. The water bucket is easy to remove and so far no leaks or drips. We empty it twice a day. It pulls out and goes back in place easily. It's also very easy to transport a full bucket. We hold it from the bottom and carry it by the handle. No issues so far. We think it's an excellent value for the money and we are very pleased with performance. Time will tell how it holds up over steady use, but so far so good.

il a été très performant dans les premiers mois, puis à même pas un an d'utilisation, il n'arrive plus à déshumidifier correctement, nous n'arrivons pas à obtenir de support et probablement que la garantie n'est plus vraiment effective. Le service à la clientèle a été hyper performant, nous avons pu recevoir une nouvelle unité en quelques jours suite à des essais à distance pour résoudre le problème, mais qui n'ont pas fonctionnés.

This dehumidifier is not as loud as others. Does the job very well but since it is designed for larger room (4500sq.ft.), it would benefit of a larger bucket.

So far so good. I had another VellGoo unit which unfortunately broke down but after speaking with customer service, I got a discount for this unit. This new unit is definitely larger, the controls are more colourful and hopefully longer lasting than my last one. Registered for the 2 year warranty thou to be on the safe side.
