Exceptional At-Home Coffee and Looks Great
I’ve used Mueller 20 oz Stainless Steel French press for the last week and I’ve been very pleased with this product and the coffee it produces. Dollar for dollar, when paired with a good burr grinder, I don’t know that I’ll find a better way to make a great cup of coffee! I use the OXO Burr Conical Coffee Grinder set at 14 grind setting (coarse) and Peet’s Major Dickinson whole bean coffee and grind three level coffee scoops of beans for about 12 seconds to produce the grounds. After placing ground coffee in the pre-heated carafe, I add just enough hot (205 degree F) water to cover the grounds, stir and let the grounds “bloom” a bit (30 seconds). Then I add 205 degree water to the press to the fill line, stir a bit, and place the top on the press (with plunger up). I let the coffee brew for four minutes. Then I confirm the arrow on the top of the press is pointing towards the handle and press the plunger slowly. Before I had the burr grinder I did experiment using pre-ground Peet’s drip coffee grounds in this press. I pushed the plunger very slowly and poured from the press carefully. The coffee tasted great and there was very fine grounds in the bottom of the coffee cup—to be expected. I drank the coffee slowly and discarded the last little bit of coffee. I really like the double-wall insulation. I preheat the press with near boiling water first, then heat the water I’ll use to make the coffee. The press works very well and keeps the coffee warm for the second mug. The 20 oz size is good if you want two 8-10 oz mugs of coffee as I do each morning. If you need more coffee consider the larger press by Mueller. The clean-up is easy. Once all the coffee has been poured, I remove the top/plunger and shake the grounds out into the trash can. I then use a small silicon spatula to easily remove the remaining grounds from the carafe and place them in the trash. Then the entire press is washed in soap and water. I unscrew the filter portion and wash each part and then completely dry before reassembly. If you don’t disassemble and clean each filter part, then you run the risk of small grounds and water trapped between the filter parts which can affect the taste of your coffee. The stainless steel construction looks very good and feels very sturdy. I’m very happy with this Mueller French Press. I’ve owned and used several other French presses over the years and this is my favorite and my favorite way of making coffee at home. The only coffee I’ve tasted that has been better was from my sister’s very expensive espresso/coffee barista machine at ~20-30(?) times the cost! Maybe someday I can justify that investment and the space on the counter? In the mean time, the Mueller French Press is creating exceptional coffee! [Additional comparison thoughts: To get the best results from a French press you do need a way to create consistent coarse coffee grinds. The OXO Burr Conical Coffee Grinder is one of the most affordable and high quality grinders I found in my research. You can find it on Amazon. So between the OXO grinder and the Mueller French press I’ve invested about $120 (the grinder was on sale a few days ago!). So comparing the burr grinder and French press together, the high-end espresso/coffee barista machine is about 6-8 times that cost and 4-5 times the volume on the counter.]

Happiness!
I'm extremely satisfied with this coffee press. Due to a caffeine sensitivity, I drink only decaf. My favorite is dark French roast. When using this lovely, all stainless-steel French press, I can control the heat of the pitcher and the strength of the brew. Ah-mazingly delicious! And it cleans up quickly and easily. I wanted a stainless-steel press because I keep reading about the dangerous consumption of plastic nanoparticles especially when in conjunction with heat. Most in-home coffee makers have plastic heating containers for the water and filter through plastic filter holders. Even when they have a glass coffee pitcher, the coffee has been brewed and filtered through plastic. The glass pitchers don't always hold up well either. (i.e. read: dropped on floor) I used the pour-over method with a glass receptacle for a while but was gifted this and I've found it to be an excellent product for a highly enjoyable cup of coffee. I rarely buy a cup of coffee because what I make at home is the best quality and brewed to my particularly picky standard.

Yes, Yes, Yes! I'm SO Happy With This Great Buy!
I was using one of the coffee pod makers but then tried the French Press coffee maker. The taste and quality of coffee is so superior using a French Press. The quality of this product is wonderful. It has some weight to it and is so much better than the breakable glass presses. It's easy to clean and has a good capacity. The filter head works well and does not leave any grounds in your coffee when poured. I use mine every day so it has been a terrific purchase. Don't hesitate buying this. Your coffee will taste better than any drip coffee maker.

Works great for cold brew, problematic documentation
Overall, very satisfied with this purchase. The construction feels very durable, and so far the coffee quality has been great. Cleaning the filter around the plunger can be a little tricky (a few grounds like to get stuck between the plunger filter itself and the frame it's on), but not so much that it presents any real problem. I am a little annoyed with the free canister. I can't find anywhere in the item's packaging that actually lists the dimensions, and on testing it holds about enough for a strong 16oz brew, which makes its inclusion with the 32oz press confusing at best. Selling page says two full batches, which is laughably incorrect - more like two full cups. I have so far used the press exclusively for cold brew, and the results have been excellent. I fill up the press when I get off work, leave it in the fridge overnight, and by the time I wake up the next morning all I need to do is plunge to have a fresh strong 12 hour cold brew waiting for me. Much more economical that buying pre-packaged cold brew or stopping at a shop every morning, and there's no fumbling around with coffee making components in that just-awoke and caffeine-free groggy state or paying the premium on pod-type coffee makers. I was a little worried about whether it would fit in the fridge in an unplunged state, and it is a bit taller than most drink containers with the plunger up, but it fit fine for me (though it could pose an issue if you have a more compact refrigerator). Cold brew also means you can premake and decant to store in the fridge, and I've found that flavor and texture stay fine if stored in a good container for a day or two (though I don't know that I'd go too much longer than that). On my first brew, I did notice a few grounds (very few, maybe 10 bits total) in the pot, but I suspect that was user error as I may have gotten a few up by the spout while stirring. Pros: - Very sturdy - Easy to use - Economical - Fits nicely in fridge with plunger up. - Makes a good cup of coffee Cons: - Filter can be a little tricky to clean - Capacity discrepancy in documentation. This is a 32oz press, but included docs also say 8 cups. 32oz is 4 cups, make sure to do your grounds calculations based on ounces. - Included canister is improperly sized and therefore useless for holding your beans, though it can be used fine for herbs or other kitchen applications. - Clear example of an item designed by a third party then sold to multiple companies for branding. Buy whichever version has the best deal at the time. Summary: Functionally a fantastic press (5 star), but errors in marketing materials and product manual, as well as clearly non-unique design, pull it down to 4.

Zero-Plastic / Stainless Steel Excellence
I am very much in love with this beautifully designed large capacity French press. 100% plastic-free stainless steel body and lid (not an easy feature to find, at any price). Lovely to look at, far more durable, and more easily cleanable than glass models. Stay-cool handle on both the body and lid. Makes absolutely excellent tasting coffee: Comes with 4 stainless steel screens, so you can make your coffee as smooth as you choose. The pot keeps coffee drinkably hot for an hour. Simple, beautiful, effective, and all parts easily separate for thorough cleaning. Who could ask for anything more?

Wonderful press pot
Great purchase. It holds almost three full cups of coffee and keeps my coffee warm for two hours. No grounds in my pours thanks to the tight fit of plunger. Easy to clean.

Good Product
This French Press is great. Well made and good for one cup of coffee.

Not Mueller. And NOT 20 oz.
Its much smaller than claimed. It's not 20oz (600ml). It's maybe 350ml at most. Good material. Quite solid. Not a Mueller. But I didn't care. I'm very upset about the size though as I needed it to be 20 oz.

Coffee is hot with no grounds
I've switched to the French press because I think the coffee tastes better - and it does. The Mueller French press is well constructed and the handle stays cool to the touch. Very easy to make the coffee and clean up afterwards. The plunger doesn't let any grounds through. I'm also not worried about the carafe breaking since it's stainless steel instead of glass.
