The new book by the author of The Grog Log , Intoxica and Taboo Table . Beach Bum Berry, as he is better known, is America's leading authority on tropical drinks and polynesian pop culture. In this all new book, Berry not only offers up tantilizing new drink recipes, but tells stories about some of the most famous figures of their time. The Bum applies the same dogged research to the untold stories of the people behind the drinks. Stories culled from over 100 interviews with those who actually created the mid-century Tiki scene ― people as colorful as the drinks they invented, or served, or simply drank. People like: Leon Lontoc, the Don The Beachcomber's waiter who served Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando by night, and acted in their movies by day; Henry Riddle, the Malibu Seacomber bartender who fed items about his famous customers to infamous gossip columnist Louella Parsons, till the day Howard Hughes found him out; and Duke Kamanamoku, whose manager turned him from Olympic champion into reluctant restaurateur. Review: stunning book - incredible look at the Poly Pop movement , what a great author - his app is stunning too 👍 Review: Great book - I found this book good for the history of the tiki bartenders in the era, what they did and where they went. It follows their lives in bars how they started, how hard they worked and cocktails that were lost recipes (zombie and others). Buy this book if you want a good read about the Tiki culture in its day. Just finished it and have just starting to read it again

Great book, bad packaging.
The book arrived damaged! I'm not going to send it back because it took me ages to get it and the overall quality is okay. Pictures, recipes and descriptions are great in my opinion. Packaging could be much better and secure.

Get the History Behind the Recipes
This 10th Anniversary Edition is a Jeff Berry book done right. Finally. I say that because the earlier, spiral-bound books are full of typos and clip art that make them look like they were put together in a couple days, whereas this book is beautiful throughout. There aren’t as many recipes as you’ll find in other books, but these are the ORIGINAL versions created back in the day, before they were altered or cheapened by others. Even better, it’s also the interesting origin stories behind those drinks and they’re accompanied by related memorabilia and vintage photos. I have just about all the tiki drink recipe books and this is one my favorites (along with Cocktail Codex, Potions of the Caribbean, Trader Vic’s Bartender’s Guide, and Smuggler’s Cove). It’s pricey but worth it.
