As with my other Makita products, great performance and quality
Very pleased with this Makita Blower Kit. Quality workmanship and easy to use product. Product performed as expected. The extra pair of 5.0Ah batteries are a great bonus, especially for the and item like this that requires a pair of 18V batteries to operate. PRO's: - Powerful blower with a wide range of air velocity settings (1-6) - Nice balance of the of the blower when the batteries are attached - Came with quick charge dual charger and 4 x 5.0Ah 18V batteries - Comes with one extension pipe with a round outlet - Both the blower and the individual batteries have power indicators showing state of battery charge - Blower compatible with all my other Makita 18V batteries, but the larger Ah batteries are more suitable for this blower due to it's power consumption. CON's: - If using the blower for extended periods, especially on the higher settings, it can get a little heavy. But to be clear I was aware of this when purchasing the product - it did not come as a surprise. Overall, very pleased with the product since purchasing it nine months ago.

Amazingly great yard blower
This Makita replaced a nice little 2-cycle gasoline Echo yard blower, and it's a better machine in every way. It is more powerful, doesn't require gas and oil, doesn't smell, and is very quiet. I won't know about reliability for some time, but since I still have a Makita electric drill I purchased in the 1980s I have high hopes for that as well. My yard gets a ton of redwood branches this time of year, which have needles that tend to catch on things. It used to take me 20-40 minutes to clean the yard with the Echo, and the Makita makes the job a little faster and definitely more fun. The emitted air seems to be less turbulent, so the air plume extends further and I can blow the leaves about twice as far. I normally leave the speed control on "4", which will move gravel or a thick carpet of leaves. At first I locked the trigger on full speed for 20 minutes until the batteries ran out, but then I learned that the trigger has a nice variable-speed capability. Running a gas blower less than full doesn't save a lot of gas, but lower speeds dramatically extend battery life and are more than sufficient for a thin layer of leaves. With a little technique I can easily go 40 minutes on fully-charged batteries and still have some life left at the end. Modulating the speed also makes it easier to dislodge leaves from cracks or clean off stepping stones. This is my new favorite piece of yard equipment. Highly recommended.

surprisingly good performer
Before purchasing this Makita blower I already owned an EGO 530 CFM blower for a few months. I made the decision to buy this blower almost entirely because of the FOUR 5.0 Ah batteries and the double fast charger. I thought even if I didn't need an additional blower, the batteries and the charger would still be a great deal at $300. It costs a little more now, probably because of the Trump tariffs on Chinese goods. Until the Makita came along I thought the EGO was the best blower in the world because it's so powerful. I don't think the EGO is the best blower anymore. In fact the Makita is now my go-to blower even though it's much less powerful than the EGO. What made me change my mind regarding the Makita is the Makita's instantaneous and highly responsive trigger switch. The Makita's switch allows me to feather the trigger to corral leaves into a tight pile. With the powerful EGO, I could never properly corral leaves because the EGO's switch has a huge 1/2 second time lag between change in trigger movement and change in airflow. One thing of note is that this Makita blower's battery life is short when used at full throttle, probably giving around 5 minutes of use at full blast. If I dialed it back to level 3 (i.e. 1/2 power) or even level 1, I could still do the majority of my cleanup work, although at a slightly slower pace. The benefit with using just enough power to do the cleanup work and reserving maximum power only for occasional use when needed is the battery charge can last a whole lot longer. If I left everything at full blast, the batteries would last maybe 5 minutes and I couldn't get the cleanup work done for just my front yard. However, if used minimum power needed, I could clean up my whole front yard and would still have 2/3 of battery charge left when I'm done. The same phenomenon is observed with the EGO blower and battery. There are two things I don't like about the Makita: First dislike is the air intake is right on the back where it will happily suck on loose clothing and thereby blocking airflow. On the EGO there is a cage on top of the air intake grill that prevents this from happening. Second dislike is the dial which controls the maximum speed available to the throttle switch is clumsy to use. Other than these two minor flaws, I like the Makita blower a whole lot more than the EGO even though the EGO has a lot more raw power, but in terms of practical use taking everything into account, the Makita wins.

The Makita Blower works exactly as my research said it would
We live out in the country and our driveway and patio get a lot of pine needles and leaves on them. I bought the Makita blower because I needed a leaf blower to be able to clean off the sidewalks. I'm not a commercial user, this is just for my own home. The unit has 6 settings and setting number 4 seems to be the best. Powerful enough that it blows away the leaves and twigs, not so powerful that it starts launching rocks and stones into windows. The battery lasts for about 15 to 20 minutes on setting 4 and the unit has far more power than my old gas homelight blower. I also use it to blow off snow from the solar panels. It won't work on the wet sticky stuff, but the lighter fluffy snow blows right away. Its faster and easier than using the broom. I also purchase a 3 inch pvc elbow from the hardware store and I stick it on the end of the nozzle and use it to blow out our gutters around the house. I'm happy with the purchase and the unit does exactly what I expected it to do. No more carburetor problems, no more mixing fuel, no more problems trying to get the blower to start when its 30 degrees outside.

Great blower!
I cannot tell you how happy I have been with this blower. It is absolutely powerful! It is just as good as anything that requires a plug. Its extremely well balanced But it is on the tad heavy side. But what that means to me is it’s built extremely well and it is! This thing is built just as well as any Makita tool you’ve ever used! It came with four batteries and a fast charger. The batteries charge in about 45 minutes. And when using the blower in a combination of lower speeds and full out high speed I was able to get a solid 25 minutes of usage per set of batteries. And that is fantastic to me! But one of the biggest values of the set is if you already have Makita tools. You can use these batteries with anything that you have Makita! Absolute amazing deal it’s a must if your invested in Makita!

XBU02 Blows in the good way.
At the price of 319.95 that's the cost of four 5 ah batteries at a big box store. You basically get a dual bank charger and blower for free. I was over fighting with my handheld gas blower every other time I wanted to use it and wanted some new batteries for my other tools so I took the plunge. This blower blowes great, better than expected. Moves wet leaves and even packed down half composted pine needles with not much effort. The adjustment is great for blowing in areas where their is mulch or stone. It is power hungr ly and will go through all four batteries before the first set can recharge if you're not careful with your power and battery management. Of course this depends on the size of your property and amount of blowing you need to do. I've never been stranded with all dead batteries though and in the month that I've owned this blower I've never had the need to break out the backpack blower nor the desire to fight with the old handheld gas blower. It's also great for quickly blowing the leaves and pine needles of the trucks in the driveway and blowing out the garage without ending up smelling like 2 stoke fumes

Great leaf blower now battery powered tool
This tool has amazing power for its weight and battery life. While not up to the all day power of a gas powered Stihl or backpack blower, it can clear and sweep steps, driveways, patio, garage, car truck interiors, shop with ease. The real beauty is its powerful but quiet vortex fan with variable speed that allows more control of the air flow. I now have two of these, and a charger handy in the garage and utility closet. With two extra batteries in this kit, the tool is basically free. I like the durable quality of the Makita line and the interchangeable 18v battery system.

HEAVY BUT EFFICIENT
I previously purchased the Mikita Blower that was half the size of this and I loved it for blowing away leaves in the spring and summer however then came FALL and I just found that my backyard was way too big and I looked into getting one with more power in order to get the job done faster. I took to Mikita as I trusted the brand and loved the battery life. This blower did just what I needed to do. It cut my clean up time and motivated me to blow leaves away more often. The quality is amazing and I can tell this will last me for many years. The dual battery is also nice as I never find myself in a situation where I'm ready to clean but out of charge. Ten out of ten recommend. I would say the only downside is that it is a bit heavy so I would not recommend this to anyone with physical disabilities. Definitely don't regret my upgrade.

Performs well
Depending on the application, this blower works great. Not a snow blower, so doesn't work well to clear anything other then a light, fresh skiff of a sidewalk. But does work well to blow snow of a car, leaves off a driveway/patio, shingle debris off a roof, etc. The batteries don't last too long at full throttle, but the charger is fast and does two at once. Glad I bought it; I needed the batteries for other tools, and the blower didn't add that much cost. The only negative is that the intake is easy to plug with a loose jacket since it is at the end that faces you - pretty minor, I still like it!

Love love love
I love my Makita blower and have been using it not just for leaves and debris but also light snow. When the snow is only an inch and dry, it makes short work of clearing a deck or driveway, with cleaner results than a shovel. Let’s me stay on top of keeping the driveway clear (till the big snowfalls come, anyways). Works great. Batteries last well. Strong design. I’ve used it far more than I expected. Would buy again.

So convenient
Coming from an electric wired blower, this is just great. No more tangled wires and so convenient to use when ever you feel like it. The fact that you do not have to pull the cord out, battery powered remember, and untangle it when you want to use it is an absolute bonus. I picked it because reviews claimed a perfect in hand balance and it is true. The two batteries last long enough to do a good job of my back and front yard, the extra 2 will come in handy in the spring and autumn with bigger cleaning jobs.
