PUSH BUTTON KEY SAFE

I wanted a key lock that had room for a key fob as well as a key and this fitted the bill. It's strong, quite heavy (which is good) and is suitably spacious inside - including a little hook to hang keys on.A black plastic / rubber cover disguises what it is making the whole unit anonymous. In my view, that's an excellent security feature. I also mounted mine in an obscured position. It looks like an electrical junction box.The numbers to open the unit are large, press easily and it's obvious that they are pressed because they stay down. They're not at all fiddly and for instance would be easy to open in the dark.One point to note. The 4-6 numbers of your chosen combination can be pressed in any order thus reducing the total number of possible numbers. However I don't think that's a serious issue.The unit can be secured to the wall easily. I chose to mount on wood as the nearby masonry wall is so uneven that one couldn't get a flush finish. I am satisfied that it's secure.Overall an excellent product - thoroughly recommended.

Very easy to install ( with a hammer drill!) and use. Nice and roomy, for long keys, easy buttons, comprehensive instructions and a good waterproof cover.

Needed to get a key box to securely store a key for an out building so decided to order this lock box. First of all, the instructions were very easy to follow to set up the combination and how to install. Took me all of 5 mins to attach to the location where I wanted it and job done.Good solid construction, water resistant casing and nice chunky buttons - so all in all very good.The only reason I have given it a 4 star rating is that, as others have commented, the passcode you choose for the box does NOT have to be put in the order you choose. For example if you chose the passcode 654321 - entering any combination of these numbers will unlock the box - so 265314 would also unlock the box.For me it’s not an issue, as the code we chose is only known to two people and the chances of someone guessing it is low, but be aware of this as if you want an exact code to be used in that order, this lock box is probably not for you.Recommend this product as it is strong and rugged and does the job perfectly.

Very sturdy easy set up and very secure

I'm really impressed with this key safe. The use and installation instruction sheet was superb. Probably the clearest written guidance I've seen on any product in a very long time. I decided to change my dial type key safe as I wanted larger numbers more easily seen in poor light, and this is very good in that regard.Internally it's a decent size, and the hook makes it a bit easier to put keys in without causing any issue for closing it.I've seen one review saying it's a shame that rawlplugs aren't included along with the Thunderbolts for fixing to the wall. That's not actually an oversight, you don't use rawlplugs with these self-tapping bolts. There is a very good video on You Tube showing how they are used, but I'm not allowed to link to it in a review. I think it would be helpful for Defender to explicitly note that rawlplugs are not required, to avoid any mistakes users might make when trying to install the key safe.

While trying not to repeat what others have said, this is a robust key safe for occasional/emergency use, exactly what I needed. I would hesitate to recommend it for frequent or daily use - as used by an elderly resident, for example, who never carries a key - because having to remove the rubber cover each time to get at the numbers would be too fiddly, especially for arthritic fingers. Everything else about it is ideal - it exudes strength and thoughtful design. The engraved numbers stand out very clearly and the buttons are kind of satisfying to press, with plenty of space for the fattest fingers. There is room inside for at least two keys and a convenient hook. The cover is straightforward rubber as far as I can tell, not "neoprene" as described on the box, at least not neoprene as I know it; wonderful stuff in some contexts but wouldn't be as good as the ordinary rubber for this job.

This is a fabulous key safe, big enough to take mortice keys. My husband is very impressed with the quality because he can now keep his keys for a cabinet safe.A lot better than the one he bought from somewhere else that wouldn’t even fit his keys. Excellent service and quality.
