Osmo Action GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller, Compatibility: Osmo 360, Osmo Action 6, Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4

I'm using the remote controller for a single purpose and not the multiple things that it can do. For me, the best use for the controller is to start and stop videos and take still images while the camera is not accessible. I've photographed the interiors of classic cars where the space inside is tight. Putting my Action 5 Pro on the end of a stick, I can actuate the shutter once my composition is found. No, I'm not going to be using this remote for everything, but it frees me up to consider all the other uses for the Action 5 Pro that I wouldn't have been able to do before.

I have never written a review on any product, but I am so disappointed in this remote from DJI, I feel I must. DJI makes a ton of GREAT products. This is not one of them. In fact, I'm surprised they even brought it to market as it is. Here are the huge issues you should know prior to purchase. 1. Sure you can connect and run multiple cameras, BUT the cameras stay on and don't go into standby/sleep mode consuming both the camera batteries and remote battery much more quickly. SO if you want the ability to allow the cameras to sleep and wake them up as I do and need to do, you have to buy additional DJI remotes. 2. I had a heck of a time getting the remote to recognize both the OSMO 360 and Action 6 in multi-camera mode, but once it finally did work, #1 above comes into play - cameras stay on as does the remote which leads to #3 3. Battery life is not even close to advertised. It's rather low to begin with (which, why put such a small battery in it???), but I experienced no more than 4 hours max AND the GPS feature is always on with no ability to turn it off. Don't have a good GPS signal? Too bad...your battery life is going to be chewed up even faster. Not all of us want or need GPS info while creating content. 4. Despite factory resets and following multiple DJI protocols on both the OSMO 360 and the remote, connectivity is a HUGE issue. I've had the camera at 10-20 yards with standby mode set to all of the available time options. Once the camera goes into standby, connection has continually failed at random intervals, Could be 20 minutes, could be an hour. Connection fails, remote shuts off and in order to re-pair the camera and remote, both have to be power cycled. At $70+ per remote they should be so much better. As is, the value is not there and I am returning BOTH of mine to look at other options. Do better DJI. DO BETTER.

That remote works well, connection is stable. The battery tends to deplete quickly if not careful to turn it off when not in use, but overall this is very convenient, I attached it on the camera stick.

Have used the GPS wrist controller for over six months and have enjoyed the remote control capabilities with my Osmo Action 5.

Works with Osmo Action 5 pro. I needed to start stop recording while the camera is out of reach, and voice commands cannot be heard. Makes it easy to switch modes also. There is a slight lag between when the buttons on the remote is pushed and when the camera responds, so you have to account for that. Connected & updated easily when switched on for the first time near the camera.

I mostly like... to start, I hate the fact you have to buy this for GPS data. With this, I confirmed that yes you can pull gps related data like speed and direction for example, few others as well but those are most likely the key. I can see the primary design for this, short biking or running treks... maybe a few other short type activities. The unit is really small but thick and doesn't weigh much at all. I can see runners loving this OR anyone that wants to use this thing on your wrist. What you lose is battery life... I haven't had long enough but I can tell it doesn't last long. Guessing 2hrs at most, just sitting on my desk and playing with it - lost 30% doing hardly nothing over a course of maybe 45 to 60 minutes. I had no problems with communicating with the Action 5 pro camera, pairing was easy, no issues with start\stop processes. I will note for some reason I noticed a few delays with stop requests. Mounted the camera in the car and drove around. Verified data points in playback, which I was pleased with. I have noticed dashboard data are changeable for certain things but not all... for example, you can switch from KM/h to MPH but you can't get out of 24 hour format if you use the time selection within dashboard widgets. Found a few others too... felt half baked based for US market, another example you are stuck with meters on certain dashboard widgets but others you can switch to feet. The remote displays, once connected of course: number of photo or minutes of video left, Mode camera/video, gps strength, and battery display of the remote. HEY where is the battery life of the camera? Far as I know, it's not there and it is unfortunate. In a testing it would had been nice to see low battery of the camera but no clue. I almost think someone designed this but didn't use with the camera to see the short comings. Summary, remote works as intended but has serious shortcomings. Poor battery life, only partial camera status data when using remote. Great for changing camera modes and activating the record button. I would love to see a larger version where it will last long session like 8 hours. Can't see a reason they can do that with a reasonable sized battery with making the unit slightly larger. Hey here's another idea, make a version 2 of the remote that uses the same sized camera battery... that way unit power source can be charge by the mobile DJI charger.

Fonctionne tres bien Les moins pour moi Charge assez longue Ayant une osmo et une osmo 360 fonctionne avec les deux mais charge un programme à chaque changement de la caméra environ +- 2min.

Great product with some critical flaws. You cannot connect 2 cameras to the remote. You can only wake the connected camera within 30 minutes. When using the dashboard graphics you need to use the mobile app and then export the file from the phone to your computer. Would be better to just have a small file with data to sync with the video when imported. App also crashes when exporting so it is very time consuming.

Uso la mia DJI osmo action 5 per fare enduro in moto, avendo questo telecomando fissato al manubrio non mi perdo una ripresa e soprattutto so quando sto registrando o no, comodissimo il led che lampeggia, in più registra anche i dati gpx, DJI però dovrebbe creare un file a parte da poter integrare in post produzione. Caro ma lo consiglio.
