Prima Taste Ready-to-Cook Sauce Kit for Rendang Asian Dry Curry, 360 g

This kit is really the sauce and instructions, but a rendang is quite a chore if you are making the sauce yourself, so I think this kit is worthwhile and I have bought it several times. I usually follow the option in the instructions to add potatoes, although that is not essential. Although my end results are not as dry as the many rendangs I have eaten in Malaysia and Singapore, they are tasty and we enjoy them.

I first tasted Rendang around 40 years ago and have never forgotten its rich, succulent flavour. I decided to buy this product in the hope of reliving the wonderful experience I remembered from all those years ago. The instruction are easy to understand and as long as you follow them, you too will enjoy this superb Malaysian/Indonesian beef curry. Very highly recommended, just as I remembered. Excellent product.

I bought this to try it out for a Christmas meal alternative. The box comes with all necessary ingredients, all you need to add is meat, water and time! I followed the instructions to the letter and the result was just perfect! The curry is so full of flavours and tasty, I can’t wait to make it again. The only thing I will do when I make it again is to add some fresh chilli to it when cooking, just to spice it up a little. The whole family finished it off really quickly, so “as is” it suits tastes from mild to spicy! Try it today, you’ll love it!

Well what can I say. This is superb and we enjoyed every mouthful. I first had beef rendang in Singapore in a Malsaian work colleagues house and I have been trying to recreate that memorable dish. I have tried other kits but this one hits the spot. It's easy,tasty full of flavour and a has a good texture. Simply love it!

The laksa noodle kits by Prima are *really* good and worth the money all day long. However this Rendang kit was just 'OK' rather than blowing me away. You can make a better version for the same cost by buying the ingredients yourself.

I've been using this for years, not found anything better in that time either. Don't use all the coconut powder, better to use toasted shredded coconut if you can. Add Chipotle chili for a deep hotness as it's quite mild really.
