Great little flashlight.
Foreword: This listing is for the 7817 flashlight, the picture shows a G20. What I received was in fact a G20 but it's slightly different from both pictures. Mainly: There is NO eye for a lanyard and there is a groove for the pocket clip to actually engage with. I personally love this thing. So far I've bought two and I plan on buying more until I have one in every room. Okay I'm exaggerating a little but I do plan on getting a few more of these. It throws a very focused beam within a small area so if you want a lot of light over a wide area this is not a light for you. I like that it's bright but not TOO bright. It's perfect for working on computers or under desks, inside engines, or anywhere with limited room for maneuverability. Why is this desirable? For me personally, when working in computers if the flash light is too bright there's the chance of getting blinded by reflection from a component. That's just one of the many things I like about this flashlight. A few other pros: -Uses standard AAA batteries (seems to have at least the stated run time) -Small (It's about the length of your average click pen and perhaps 50% thicker) -Light weight -Sturdy construction -Simple positive engagement push button (I dislike twisty lights) -Simple point and shine operation, no focusing ring to mess with -Comes with pocket clip (while the clip is sturdy and has a groove for it to sit in you can remove it if you desire. I don't recommend it as there will be nothing to stop the flash light from rolling away should you drop it or set it down on an uneven surface) Cons: -No eye for lanyard -No momentary operation (I tried, the end button is either on or off there's no slack) -Not really a con, more of a wish list item but it'd be nice if this came with some sort of "slip-on" filters, red/green perhaps. Overall this is great and I will be buying more.

Incredible.
I am so so happy with this. I was looking for a flashlight to be in my EMT kit, so something that I could use to check pupil dilation and have as an inspection light. It feels super sturdy, and is made very well. Everything just works and there isn't extra stuff that you don't need on it, making it small, light but feeling like it has good presence in your hand, and also just super functional. I have noticed it does not overheat easily, or for that matter at all! It stays super cool (especially considering how bright and focused the beam is) and does not even heat up the part around the lens. Really loved this so much, its so perfect, also if you were wondering the clip can come off easily with intention, but will 100% stay in place and not move around when not wanting it to come off!

Great EDC flashlight, though I wish it was rechargeable
Great for everyday carry, can get banged up and still works great Inspection beam is really cool, but has its weaknesses If you’re looking for the best, the Coast HP3R is a bit better, but this is a close second, and half the price

Bright and durable!
I love this light to pieces. I've had it on my EDC pouch for 4 uears and the paint has been rubbed off in plaes, I've stepped on it multiple times, dropped it in the muck, etc. and it's still going strong. I use AAA rechargeables in it and they last for weeks. I have even used it in the theatre to help other patrons find their seat. The actual ushers can't use their cell phones because they throw too wide a light, but this is perfect. Highly recommended for a durable, bright and rugged flashlight.

A Handy Beacon with Room for Improvement
Diving into the vast market of LED penlights, the Coast G20 Inspection Beam LED Penlight promised to be a beacon for close-up tasks and beyond. The sleek design and the promise of consistent edge-to-edge brightness caught my attention, and so I decided to integrate it into my toolkit. After several weeks of hands-on experience, my feelings are somewhat mixed. Understanding the Coast G20 LED Penlight: In an era where LED lights abound in variety and functionality, having a penlight that can effortlessly combine portability with functionality becomes invaluable. My quest for a reliable inspection beam led me to the Coast G20, and it brought with it both revelations and challenges. Pros: ⚡ Consistent Illumination: True to its promise, the Coast G20 delivers a clear and consistent edge-to-edge beam, making it especially useful for close-up inspections. The illumination provided a defined area that was bright enough for most tasks I encountered. Versatility and Portability: The adjustable clip was a boon. It ensured the penlight was always within reach, whether clipped to my pocket or a tool bag. Its compact design, coupled with the clip, made it easy to carry around. Battery Flexibility: The option to switch between alkaline batteries and the COAST ported ZITHION-X rechargeable battery provides flexibility in power sources. This can be particularly useful during prolonged use or when recharging facilities are not readily available. Cons: Battery Life: While the beam was indeed impressive, I felt that the battery drained slightly quicker than expected. Even though it claims a 2 hour 30-minute runtime, I found myself reaching for replacement batteries or a recharge sooner than anticipated. Switch Sensitivity: The penlight's switch, though intuitively placed, was a bit too sensitive for my liking. There were instances where it accidentally turned on while in my pocket or bag. Brightness Levels: While the light was clear and consistent, I sometimes wished for adjustable brightness levels, especially during tasks that didn't require the full intensity of the beam. Durability Questions: Though it claims to be impact resistant, after a minor accidental drop, I noticed a few scuffs. While this didn't affect its functionality, it did raise questions about long-term durability. Final Thoughts: The Coast G20 Inspection Beam LED Penlight, with its consistent beam and portability, offers significant utility for those in need of precise illumination. However, prospective users should be aware of its battery constraints and handle it with a tad more care than I did. Overall, it's a competent tool but with room for improvements, making it a solid three-star contender in the vast LED penlight market.

TLDR: Fantastic flashlight that's great for inspecting things. Great value, very durable, good brightness, and I have yet to change the batteries. I'd definitely buy it again. I bought this light as I do a lot of work on my car and motorcycle and wanted to have a pen style light around that I can use to have a closer look at things. After reading reviews I decided to grab it and see how it does. I am very impressed. My first time using it was while I was changing the tires on my car. I used it to take a look at my brake pads and see how much life they have left in them. It worked great. The directed beam really highlighted the area I was looking at and the brightness is pretty good. Given its small size it was easy to clip on and off of my belt to take a good look at things. Since then, its my go to while I'm working around my garage and I need to take a closer look at things. One thing I find it really useful for is finding small screws and bolts that I've dropped on my floor. I've dropped it, accidently smacked it with my foot, got it with carb clean and brake clean, and it still works fine. I also have yet to change the batteries. I'd definitely purchase this light again. I might even get one for my dad.
