Sectional Couch Connector (Compact Fixed Mount #917)

Was not difficult to install and no more sliding couch. Works perfectly. Well made. Very happy with this product and glad I purchased it.

The item had no instructions, but was easy to install. One thing you need to know is there are a couple different designs by this distributor that will work for various different types of layouts. I happened to have wood support/trim at the base of my couch, so this design fit best. I was BARELY able to get the pieces to come together and click because you only have 3 or so inches to work with...meaning, if the fabric is thick or areas where you're mounting the pieces are not on the very boundaries of the couch, then the bar may not reach the connector and you'll have to find another option. I really wanted to give this 3 stars because of the price, but the connector does its job and I guess you get what you pay for. If I ended up needing 2 connectors in order to prevent shifting of the chaise, I definitely would have pinged it down to 3 stars.

I ordered two for stability, my sofa is not fancy or expensive, and probably made from driftwood. I had to go to the website for instructions because it came with none, and don't try to call the customer service line on a weekend-there is no one there. Overall the installation was easy, I am not too handy and I just used a Phillips head screwdriver. If your sofa frame is hardwood, you'll probably need an electric driver. I LOVE MY COUCH NOW! No separated cushions because the sofa drifted, no falling through the crack when I try to lay down. My three boys have not been able to vanquish the connectors either. Advice, get two for each section, that way there is no pivoting at the connection.

I previously purchased the flat fixed mount for my sectional sofa after the connector between to pieces broke. After the same thing happened to the corner piece the sofa broke, I opted for this connector, as the way the corner piece is designed would make it difficult to attach a connector on the bottom of the sofa. This connector is not only more expensive, but not designed as well as the flat connector. The small metal piece is flimsy and bends before coming detached again. I can easily bend the piece back with my hand and reconnect, but overall the connector only keeps the sofa together for a few hours of use. For $20 for a piece of metal I expect the product to actually work as intended.

After reading reviews of sectionals online, many reviews said that this product was a "must-have" for sectionals to avoid the dreaded sofa creep. We purchased two of these mounts with our new sectional. The mounts come with zero printed instructions on how to install, but direct you to their website. The website provides extremely fuzzy guidance, other than it is "easy to install". Going to the drawing of the instructions [...], the mechanically inclined must be able to infer from the CAD drawing that you screw the thin metal piece vertically into the inside of the sofa frame with a little bit sticking out the bottom, and you screw the other bracket on the inside of the chaise frame and make sure they line up. I'm an engineer and was able to figure it out in the end, but paying that much money for something "easy to install" should have "easy to understand" directions, not just some parts in a bag. Works well in the end, but frustrating in the effort.

Originally I ordered the Sofa Snap Sectional Couch Connector, Flat HD Fixed Mount (Model #345), but I quickly realized it would not work for my sofa. Thankfully, it was very easy to return it to Amazon, and so I ordered this one. I had to drill an extra hole in the 'peg' since it was spaced too far apart for my sofa, but that was really the hardest part. It took me all of 15 minutes to install it and voilà ...no more floating sectionals! I just wish I'd ordered these sooner.

kinda wish i'd gotten 2 of these, but...seems fine. thought i'd need someone to come and install it, but did it myself; it's simple, logical. if i can do it, ANYONE can do it. took about 10 minutes (i worked slowly, carefully). i connected a chaise lounge to a loveseat (a sectional that kept pulling apart; annoying the hell out of me). i set it up in the middle; if i'd gotten 2, would have done them closer to each end, but again...it works. great device... so. easy to install. holds together well, and i can get on with my life (and crash on the sofa and NOT find my arm dangling between the sections)...

I love this product and wish I had thought of it sooner. We tried all kinds of things under the legs of my 3 piece sectional and it constantly shifted every time we sat on it. My only wish is that it allowed the couches to sit closer together. There is an obvious gap/space between each piece that is seen from the back as well. With that said, I would still purchase these again as they are very well constructed and sturdy.
