Small, no frills packing. Firmware is upto date and the Key is genuine. (you can check it from yubico's website) At first use, you need to setup a pin using the yubico software. You can disable the NFC option. In the case of NFC auth, you may need to hold the security key for a few more seconds for proper authentication. The key can also store 2FA codes like the ones seen in google or microsoft authenticator and with version 5.7.4, this can store upto 100 passkeys. Security keys only supports FIDO2/webauth and U2F. Security key will function similar to authenticator apps, Meaning you need to enter the account password, insert the key, enter the Security key pin, touch the center gold plated area to complete authentication. (if the app remembers you or the device is trusted, then only the key is required for authentication) If you want quick, easy authentications(instead of the above process), go for YubiKey 5 NFC FIPS as it supports addition security features such as PIV, OpenPGP, OATH-TOTP etc but it will cost more for that same reason. Bought this for under 2900 Rs so the price is justified.

I checked with my laptop and my iPhone working well. and also my IPHONE 16pro supports NFC when I am activating USB security just I am placing on the USB key immediately, recognising. it activates when we touch the yellow coloured circle line with our finger, then only it will activate either using in type C port or NFC.

I’ve just started using the Security Key C NFC and wanted to share my early impressions in case they help other buyers. Functionally, the setup went smoothly and the key has worked reliably for authentication so far. From a usability standpoint, it does what I expected. The packaging is extremely compact. That isn’t necessarily bad, but it felt a bit underwhelming for a product in this price range. I also noticed that the device doesn’t have a visible serial number. For me, having one would make it easier to keep track of multiple keys. The design itself leans toward simplicity. The green LED, in my opinion, has more of an older-style appearance, and the overall look doesn’t feel especially premium to me. This is purely a matter of taste, but I expected a bit more visual refinement considering the cost. When comparing it with my Thetis key, I personally feel that the Thetis model has a more solid and polished exterior. Both work, but the Thetis leaves a stronger impression in terms of build aesthetics. Since it’s only day one, I’ll update my thoughts if anything changes with continued use. So far, the performance is on point, while the design elements come across as more basic than I had hoped.
