Needed power for a sustained 10amps, so I overspec’ed for reliability
I’m no expert in electricity. I know my way around many things, and would be the first to admit I’m probably quite a danger to myself. I’ve wired up solar panels and built my own LiFePO4 solar batteries from parts. I have far more experience in the digital/DC side of things, and as a result tend to be hyper-cautious when dealing with anything AC. Case in point: running with an understanding that heat is bad for electronics, I had a DC device I needed to power through a 12V cigarette adaptor that needed a sustained 10amps, but from the wall (AC). So, I needed an AC to 12V DC/cigarette adaptor. At first I only had an adaptor capable of supplying 6amps, which worked for short stretches but also got quite hot (remember: heat is generally bad for electronics). So, I went on a hunt for something that could supply in excess of 10amps as baseline, so ideally I’d not run it at full capacity, it would run cooler, and therefore last longer. Some searches on Amazon brought me to this item, seemingly generic but oddly advertised. The tagline on the packaging was “Get powered. Get inspired.“, which reminded me a lot of the classic ASUS computer motherboard “Rock Solid, Heart Touching”. Well, I didn’t buy it for how well they could awkwardly self-promote. I’ve been using it daily since I bought it, and it performs without issue. Never gets “too warm” (never really gets warm enough for me to fret over: it supplies power, which generates some warmth, but not to a state that causes me worry), never makes noise causing me concern over its operation. In my book, it definitely fits the bill. And should I ever need something a bit hungrier for power, I have something already on hand that can handle the task.

Must have for newer trucks without cigarette plug
Bought to use in bed of my truck to run a small pump to inflate my air topper. Works good! Not exactly sure why new vehicles domt have cigarette lighter ports anymore but this cures that issue.

Great units and customer support!
See updates: Original review: Own two of these in the 15amp version. Their main usage is for using DC powered portable air compressors in the garage on AC outlet. Both compressors draw up to 15amps @12v. This power supply has no issue handling the load. Compressors overheat far quicker than the power supplies which uses a fan when it warms up too much. Fan is audible, but certaining not annoying in a garage environment. Cord length is acceptable. Recommended. Aug 2025 update: The newer one I purchased in 2024, as a backup, appears to not handle the same loads - I assumed it would and was wrong. I had only used it for a lighter load and figured it was the same quality as the older 2020 model. When using an 12v/15a air compressor, it would just stop and start over and over, unable to inflate a tire. Too much load for the inverter. Guess we'll see what kind of warranty process I have to deal with. The product claims to have an 18 month warranty. Dropping to three stars. Sep 2025: After exchanging several e-mails and some testing on my part, Roypow customer support agreed to send out a replacement, which I surprisingly received via overnight shipping. The replacement works just as expected, no issues. Very happy with the product and their customer service! Five stars again!

Hmmm
Impressive. Used it for 1 season so far with no issue. I use it to power an RV 24K BTU LP furnace to heat a remote cabin. Furnace cycles with no issues. Would prefer the converter's physical size were smaller.

Good AC to DC Power Converter
This is a good power converter, particularly for a tire inflator. I like having the option to plug a tire inflator into a house outlet rather than run my car to use it. This unit is 180 watts, 15 amps. It peaks at 200 watts so you can safely use it at 180w. The cigarette adapter fits fine with the male counterpart on the tire inflator, and the electrical wire is about 4 3/4 feet, while the cigarette adapter cable is about 18". For an inflator this probably won't matter at all since the inflator's cable will probably be 6-10 feet long. For small appliances you may care. The unit itself has a built in fan and is about 6.4" x 4" x 4".

A Nice Product To Use For Low Watt Heaters w/ DC Volt Hookups for Tent Camping
As everybody knows who does camping or boondocking, finding a low watt heater that actually works for a small-space sleeping scenario that can also match up to available hook-up options, is a real full time job to sort out. I have opted for mostly DC Volt hookups as opposed to the USB recharging options. I found a nice car heater at 150 W that can run continuously but I needed to be able to exchange the AC to DC hookup that's usually available at campgrounds. I have tested this adapter plug in a cold storage room with a DC heater plugged in, and for me. this is the right solution for a tent camping season later on this year. The bottom of the adapter does become quite hot, so I would probably hang it from a loop inside my tent to keep it off the floor while I run it overnight.

Does not work.
Will not work plugged into my Sierra HD truck. Tried both console and bed outlets.

Works great!
Works great! Now I can review my dash camera from the comfort of my couch. No phone APP for my dash camera, so I have to delete the recordings off the camera manually.
