The order arrived quickly and was in the expected condition as described by the seller. This history set is the most amazing I've ever read. I joke with the kids that I am learning more from their homeschool curriculum than I learned in public school as a student and even later as a teacher! These history books give you the full story and yet are written in such an interesting and captivating way! Review: Super series and super book - Super series and super book. Makes history come alive. However, this is the most boring of all the books. Having lived through many of the events, I find her writing balanced but boring. One MAJOR complaint against the later books is that she confuses democracy with affluency equality. They are very separate, and she blurs lines there that can become dangerous for the mindset and worldview. Otherwise, EXCELLENT book and series.

Don't Buy the Digital Edition
This book is decent. It is quite a change from the older version. In attempts to make it more inclusive, which I would normally laud many chapters were added on events of the civil rights movement, pushing things like the Korean War aside. While I am glad more information was provided, having about a dozen chapters of only a few pages each breaks up the narrative too much. Surely some of those could be combined into slightly longer chapters. Also given a dozen chapters discussing civil rights, Native American rights shouldn't be an addendum, but deserves at least a chapter. Those are just minor irritations. My major issue and the reason this loses a star is because of the choice to have the digital version published without images. No pictures in a history book for kids is ridiculous, particularly when the pictures are already chosen present in the print edition.

The is the BEST series by an amazing storyteller
The is the BEST series by an amazing storyteller. Author Joy Hakim writes in such a way that middle school --and upper elementary students can read and appreciate history. I would purchase every book she ever wrote and will write. A+

They are easy to read
This book completes our set. They are easy to read, contain interesting, off beat information you wouldn't find in other history books: they're awesome. We have/are using them as part of our US History curriculum. I am using them with a high schooler and he loves them.
