THIS OFFER IS FOR TWO OF OUR HIGH QUALITY SILICA FILLED BAGS . Silica is generally recognized as the best chemical for Dehumidifiers The Damp Eater Has been designed and assembled in The United Kingdom where we have one of the most unpredictable climates for damp in the world. This Model is the maxi version approx 1.30kg which is capable of holding upto 800g/l of moisture, or for those that are not technically minded about 60% of its own weight. a substantial amount that you don't now need to remove, with a cloth when you first get into your car. There is none of the difficulty removing it to store in your door shelf or parcel tray as we did not fit any sticking fasteners to mess up your dashboard, and we certainly would not recommend driving with it in place as this would be a danger, and by then it would have done its job anyway just get into the habit of leaving it on your dashboard when you park up for the night. The Damp eater is also fitted with a unique carrying handle for storage or to place in an additional place has it has many usages. The Damp Eater will also sit nicely on the rear parcel tray to keep your rear screen dry if you prefer to You will know when it needs charging as you will feel its dampness. and soggy feel.Do not worry that the bag will break, they are the same bags used to carry shot lead by deep sea divers around the world. So are virtually indestructible. Review: Received promptly, on time and in full. Best value item out there. Works perfectly. - I've got an electric car, which requires you to put the heat and a/c on full to clear misty windows on cold/wet mornings. This saps 10% of the battery and therefore 10% of driving range. Having used these bags, I can honestly say I rarely have to put the window demist on at all. These bags work a treat. First clean all the windows inside the car. Dirt will attract water vapour like a magnet. So even your breath on a cold day will frustrate the quick demisting of the inside. Then position bag where the misting up is the worst, and leave the bag to do its magic. After a few days, you can then position the bag to a more convenient position in the car, like the passenger door pocket. It'll still dry the air passively in the background. It's great. The thing is, because you wont be bothered by steamy windows all the time, it may take you a while to notice that the bags are really working. For me it happened on my first cold morning start. I thought, here we go... it'll take at least 10-15 minutes to clear the inside and out. Once the outside had been cleared (de-iced), i jumped in to find the inside clear and dry. I was ready to go in less than 5 minutes. I have given my brother the second bag to use in his car. He hasn't seen the same results, mainly because his glass inside is always smeared with dog nose streaks and cigarette smoke. He also e-smokes whilst driving and regularly has a massive Labrador dog which is always bouncing around the back nosing out the window. These bags are good, but they cant demist the dirt off a pane of glass. And as i said, dirt attracts water vapour like a magnet. Personally, I can highly recommend this product. I have been very pleased with results as it's saved hours of wasted time, wiping or drying the inside down. I believe it has also made it safer to drive in winter, as visibility is the best it can be at all times, inc. cold mornings and nights. Just make sure you clean the inside of the glass of any dirt or grease first, for best results. I've had the bag in the car for two months so far. They recommend slow and gentle oven drying of the beads around the 4-6 month time. So that will get me through winter and into spring. Not bad at all. There's only me usually in my car, so one bag works just fine. Maybe with more people, the two bags may be necessary to keep it dry. For now, one works perfectly. Review: Great product worked a treat drying my car out - Very quick delivery. Great product worked a treat drying my car out. Recharging the silicone inside is a doddle, microwave for a few mins then let it steam out. Several times did the trick for me, also tried in the oven ( without the outer bag of course) and that dried perfectly well also. Please I bought them ๐

The best I've found
This product keeps the inside of windscreens clear after a cold night and seems more robust than some others on the market that use clay. The dehumidifier use silica gel which is used by many manufacturers to package goods - which we often find as little packets in all sorts of goods usually labelled "do not eat". The danger with all of them is if the packaging gets wet and degrades or breaks open - and this one seems better than most. Most people seem to use a radiator to dry them out - but I prefer a quicker option (it still takes at least an hour) by taking the 3x 500gram bags out of the outer sleeve and drying them in an oven at just over 100 degrees C. Weighing them allows you to judge when they are completely dried out and you get back to below 500 gram but do take care handling them (use oven gloves) at this temperature.

Lack of information and incredibly long drying times!
Well, re-reading all the reviews I can see that most people bought these to put in cars. I had other things in mind.... I have two very damp wooden garden sheds, a possible damp under-the-sink cupboard, and I also wanted one to lay on a saucer in my big plastic tub of bird seed, which in one of the damp sheds. When the bags arrived, they included a directions leaflet, but it was in pigeon English so I couldn't understand how to reactive the bags, or even how the idicator strips work. I had bought four bags in all... two 500g bags and two 1.5kg bags. I thought it best to weigh them when they arrived as apparently they can get damp whilst in transit. I was happy to see that all four were almost exactly the right weight. I put them in their locations, and actually forgot about them for a few weeks, so it wasn't until yesterday that I retrieved them all again. The indicator strips had turned partially or fully from a brown colour to a green colour so I guessed that they did have varying degrees if moisture in them. I weighed them all, and sure enough they had all gained weight.... I know the feeling! Lol So....then came the tricky bit...how to get them dry again!! The 500g ones are covered in a kind of papery material and I didn't fancy risking them in the oven, so I tried them in my 700watt microwave on 50% for a few minutes (one at a time), which didn't appear to do anything! I am used to doing this as I have to do this with two of the Dehumidifying Eggs, which I use in my back bedroom. I then put them on a warm radiator over night, and the least damp one did dry out, but the other one didn't. I did actually post a question on Amazon about regenerating these bags, and got an incredibly diverse range of answers! It seems that everybody just tries out a different method! The two 1.5kg bag indicators were showing almost all green (which i guessed meant that they were pretty damp) so I decided to put them in the fan oven on 100โ (equivalent to 110โ) for 1 hour, and weigh them after that. The 'instruction' leaflet warned against putting them in an oven hotter than 120โ. I was gobsmacked when i took them out to weigh them, as virtually nothing had happened! An extremely long story short: I continued with this pattern, putting them in, and weighing them every 1 to 1.5 hours......for over 9.5 hours, turning the oven up to 110โ (equivalent to 120ยฐ in my fan oven) for the last two hours. In 9.5 hours they went from approx 2,072g to 1631g .... still not even back to their fully dried out 1500g! ...... I gave up and went to bed! Next day: Turned the fan oven on to 110โ and put them in again, along with one of the 500g bags. It took 1.5 hours for the 500g to properly dry out, and a 3.5 hours for the 1.5kg bags to get down to 1576g. Total time for drying out two 1.5kg bags in a fan oven on between 100-110โ = over 13 hours!!! So....now you know how I spent my Easter weekend!!! Lol PS: I hold no responsibility for anyone's house burning down, or bags burning if they put their bags in their oven for 13.5 hours!! Lol NB. It is impossible to find any info about this on the web, as the company that manufacture them seems to be non existent now. I did find them for sale on one site and emailed the company. They very kindly responded, so when i am next on my PC (i work 99% of the time on my tablet), i will copy and paste the info that they sent. AS PROMISED...... HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT THE ABOVE COMPANY SENT ME: 1. Can be regenerated in temperatures between 100c-120c.do not exceed this or my glue will melt and the bag will split and remove my outer case works best in a fan assisted oven. I can also be regenerated on a hot radiator, but first wrap me with tin foil like a sausage to keep the heat in and 2. Please also note that to work it needs to be on the front ( or rear screen ) and the car needs to be draft proof, and of course there does need to be damp in the air 3. A good test also is to weigh the bags you should see at least a 40% increase from the starting weight 4. If the weather is humid there is no damp in the air yet condensation could still mist the windscreen. 5. If the vehicle is draughty or the seals on the doors are worn the unit will it will gather the moisture from the air flw 6. Microwave idea .you-tube dot com/watch?v=3twxGjGRE-A 7. The Humidity Indicator the indicators are very sensitive , and are used in a number of situations in industry ,primarily for the protection of instruments ,as you will see there is a danger sign on 30% , which for the damp eater is immaterial , they will measure the atmosphere, starting with brown and as it absorbers more moisture will gradually go to green then white , of course as the damp eater absorbed more moisture it should in theory pick up the moister reading next to it , the gauge can easily be returned back to brown either as the moisture is absorbed or placed on a radiator or any other hot place . 8. If the damp eater still does not seem to work , then there is no damp to absorb

It does its task very well
I had a mold trouble in my car, due to not driving it and winter here (in the central UK) being relatively warm and sunny. I had my car cleaned and I bought two of these (one for the front of the car and one for the back). Before I bought them, my windshields got all dank; afterwards, they were completely clean all the time. So far, I've had no need to dry them, so I don't know if that works fine, but I expect so, since the dehumidifiers live up to their promise.

For me they were useless.
I was really hoping that these would work for my Van that has terrible condensation problems in he colder winter months. I tried them on the dashboard one night and the next day the windows were just as bad, so then I hung them fron the sun visors and they still made no difference. I am a tight Yorkshire lad and so the heating does not come on very often and especially now living so far south the nights are much warmer. However, on the colder nights we get terrible condensation on the bedroom windows, due to a new build house, with not so great double glazing. I tried the bags in both bedrooms on different nights and I was still wiping the usual condensation off in the morningI am now considering buying one of those Karcher window cleaning vacuums to assist me! The bags were weighed on arrival and after each use they weighed precisely the same. So basically for me these did not work at all and were returned for a refund.

There's a trick to drying these!
This is a great product and I'm not sure why they rate differently to nearly identical things on here. They are all just the same silica gel beads in a bag. You need to remember that these will sit in a warehouse absorbing mouisture for as long as it takes for someone to order them so don't expect them to work out of the box. Dry them out before use. Trick/Tip! Empty the contents into two large oven dishes, larger the better, for max surface area. Do not leave in the bags. Dry as instructed at about 120ยฐC and periodically open your oven door a little to let the water vapour/steam out. Things work on equilibria so think about it for a minute and work out why yours might not dry properly when you chuck a densely packed bag into a sealed oven... I've had these for a year now and it's transformed my 21 year old car from having that damp old car small to being nice and dry. I've bought a second set for my dad's classic car as I'm so impressed with them.

No more scraping the inside of the windscreen!
I have one on the back shelf and one I put on the dash at night and put it in the passenger seat footwell in the morning. All windscreens have been clear ever since and I play 5 a sides football in the rain which means the drive home leaves a lot of moisture in the car. This is no longer an issue.
