The lamp is very nice, sturdy, easy to put together and looks great next to my chair. When I saw the box I wondered how the shade fit into it. Well, The shade came rolled up, and was easy to create the shade and it looks good. Good thing I love the lamp bc if I had to send it back, it would never go back into the box bc the box and ALL those little styrofoam balls are all over the house and they stick to everything! Aggggg But it was safe inside that styrofoam... it is a very nice lamp that looks great. I bought the bronze lamp. I would buy this again bc the price was very reasonable, but make sure you have your handheld vacuum handy!

the lamp in black is very nice and has some brass trim which matches my room decor. I used my own 100watt bulb as it was brighter than the included bulb. I have it by the chair that where I read. the assembly was easy to do. it looks very nice and just like the picture.

These lamps are very attractive and functional. It does not use a typical 3-way bulb, but rather offers 3 different mood lighting settings, one of which is a clear bright white for evening reading.

Was looking for a replacement lamp for my old one that shed its weighted bottom all over my floor. Searched and found the perfect lamp but tubes refused to screw into each other, second lamp had a truly cheesy shade and no obvious way to put a different shade on BUT this lamp (I bought 2) went together EASILY, the shade is GREAT and I can replace it if it gets damaged. It has a rotary switch, 3 levels of brightness (now called "color"), a very long cord and they both look great in my living room!! HOWEVER, I do NOT like the new, improved bulbs that do NOT have an very low light for an area that just needs a hint of visibility (like the OLD style 25 watt). These lamps, even with the lower wattage new style bulbs, could be used in an operating room. WHY can we not have a choice of old/new styles of lamps/bulbs????

Ordered one lamp, decided to order another one, and noticed when assembling it, that the cord was frayed and exposed where the top piece screws in. I contacted Amazon and requested an exchange. The cord on the 3rd lamp was also frayed. I checked the cord on the 1st lamp, which was also frayed. I taped it up with electrical tape, and kept them. Hopefully this will not be a fire hazard. I figured they are all defective in this spot, so I stopped trying to return or exchange them, since I like the look and build of the lamps. FYI - check the cord for fraying!!! Otherwise it is well-made and suits my decor.

Love it next to my chair to read. My parents had one when i was young and I hadn't seen it in years. Love to adjust it to the correct angle where I sit. Easy to assemble and the weighted bottom is a plus.

this light gives just the right amount of light to a dark corner in our living room. The swivel aspect of it allows for great positioning also
