Digitally remastered edition comes housed in a mini LP sleeve that replicates almost every aspect of the original album release. Marc Jordan's 1978 album is a fine exhibition of his talent as a singer/songwriter. It features eclectic songs in diverse genres: pop-funk, R&B, and rock, plus soulful pop on 'Dancing on the Boardwalk' and the jazzy 'One Step Ahead of the Blues.' For fans of CDs and yes, there are a lot of more of you out there than you might think nothing beats a new reissue from Culture Factory. This boutique label from NYC does an amazing job at unearthing and reissuing classics of yore, in not only remastered sound, but pristine mini-LP packaging that replicates the original album artwork. --Jim Kaz, New Noise Magazine Culture Factory gets high marks for superior audio remastering and high-quality packaging (dig those LP-like disc surfaces, grooves and all)… --Pete Prown, Vintage Guitar Magazine They really are must-haves for any fan of music. --Gary Moore, 955KLOS-FM Review: Marc Jordan is da man ! - Great memories listening to this . . . Review: Retro Fun - Well packaged but ended up cutting corner of sleeve cover….maybe include pull tab on cardboard for easier opening. Appreciated the original album cover, inner sleeve and vinyl look of the cd. Although printing on cover was a bit blurry and lyrics on inner sleeve were almost intelligible. Fitting sleeve into cover is a bit of a tight fit; so, not sure how repeated uses will pan out. Sound quality was terrific.

Mannequin (1978 album)
Worth purchasing for the songs "Survivor", "Marina Del Ray". Good CD to relax to. Hard to believe that this is the same artist responsible for the 1980s hit "This Independence."

Unnown, But Billiant, Pop Stylist
I was a disc-jockey for fifteen years (now I'm a mystery novelist) and for fifteen years I had to put up with playing a bunch of, frankly, [bad] pop records. Then one day we got a record by a guy named Marc Jordan. It went nowhere, and to this day, I still don't know why. Every song on the album was great. It was produced, as I recall, by Jordan and David Foster, though I could be wrong about the second part. It has been years since I've heard this record but certain licks, lyrics, and musical phrases still run through my head from time to time. "Got in my car, put my foot to the ground, I'm the lonely one..." I think that's the opening lyric of one of my favorite songs from this album, a folkish pop ballad, about a kid who takes out on the open road, leaving his girl behind. As good or better than any Bruce Sprinsteen song of the same ilk. Then there was "One Step Ahead of the Blues" with its jazz sax intonations and its perfect summing up of film noir. Then there was "Dancing on the Boardwalk", a pop-soul dance number, which is on a par with the best of Lieber and Stoller. Anyone who loves pop music that goes off into these offbeat threads of jazz, folk, R&B, and pure rock, yet retains a pop sensibility, will love this album.

Great sound quality for a great album!
I've seen other reviews of other CD releases of this album, and many complain about the poor sound quality of those releases. That is most definitely not the case here. The sound is great! Fear not. And if you are a Larry Carlton fan, as I am, he is very prominent on this album. The fact that Steely Dan producer Gary Katz produced this one means that many of the same guys who made those albums sound so good are involved in this effort too. It took me a few listens to get into this album, but I'm really glad I gave it a chance.

If only all remastering projects could be this good.
Have fallen for the whole remastered spiel so many times in the past and have seldom been impressed. The shrink wrap sticker proclaims "Audiophile Recording. Mastered in high definition 96kHz/24-BIT" Unsure of the technical aspects but suffice to say, the whole album sounds great. I have the original album on vinyl and "Survival" on 12" single and amazingly, this CD re-issue tops them. Have rediscovered the album in this format. Original LP outer and inner sleeve replicated too. Great job by "Culture Factory"
